Wiretap is incredibly fun to use!
-Gives you wallhacks in a local area, which is obviously really good.
-33% of a gen is easy to get (buff Blast Mine please..)
-Killers don't expect it because there's no indication you have it outside of a hunch. Also, I feel like your average sweaty Survivor won't be running Wiretap.
-It's a win-win situation. Either they kick the gen and lose distance on you, or you get wallhacks nearby.
-Highlights a gen for the team, which can be clutch on maps like RPD, Midwich, etc.
-If the yellow aura disappears, your team knows the Killer is there, even if they are Undetectable.
There are downsides, like being worthless at endgame, and losing some value against stealth Killers. But overall, it's my favorite perk from the Wesker DLC.
What are your thoughts on Wiretap?

I sometimes completely forgetting about this perk and being like:
"THERE IS NO WAY YOU READING MY MOVES THAT GOOD!!!"
Yes, it's really fun even playing against it.=)

Same, i love all the information it provides and the fact that you can use it every game because the requirements are so forgiving.
The wesker DLC really gave us the best set of perks in a while, especially for survivors.

They had fun.

Yeah, it's one of my favourite perks from the Project W chapter. It's fun and balanced.

Yeah I love Wiretap, infact I would argue Wiretap's effect is stronger than Blast Mine, which is weird when you can use it twice is much.

It's become a staple in my personal meta. I absolutely love Wiretap, it gives a lot of great info - especially in solo queue.

I really like Wiretap. It's fantastic if you use it on central generators, gens in jungle gyms, and basically anywhere on a two-story map.
It combos nicely with Blast Mine, but sometimes it's better to slap it on a barely started gen the killer won't be tempted to kick so you get 80 seconds of wallhacks.

I thought Reassurance was going to be the strongest of the perks from Project W but the strongest (at least for solo queue pub matches) is probably Wiretap, Hyperfocus, and then followed by Reassurance.
A few times I've charged Wiretap using a generator that's out of the way, run to a neighboring generator at a strong building or loop that hasn't been done where I know a teammate is looping, then just do the generator long enough to place the Wiretap and go back to the original generator. A generator with like 4 seconds of progress doesn't usually get kicked by the killer and my teammate suddenly gets wall hacks.
It's just generally a fun perk.

That's exactly what I've been doing with it - you've found my secret!

Sometimes I run over to where someone is looping and throw it on a nearby gen, then run back to wherever I'm repairing. :P Doesn't always work out, but when there's a gen like Lery's center or Gas Heaven garage? Wiretap is incredible. It's my favorite new perk of 2022, and that's going up against stiff competition like Floods of Rage, Awakened Awareness, and Darkness Revealed.
I didn't expect to love this perk as much as I do, but it's so clever. I tip my hat to whoever thought this one up!

I'm also a fan of Floods of Rage, I think they're both great perks.
Wiretap is a lot of fun, it's one of those that can be super useful or gone in a second so slightly risky but fun nevertheless.

I just thought of a new build I want to try with Wiretap. I only wish they could buff Red Herring to have synergy with it.

love this

it's a very weak perk. maybe could be fun in swf setups but in solo Q its very weak in most maps.

why are you compairing a survivor perk with 3 killer perks? that's a bad comparison.

I think it's perfectly fair when I'm just saying which perks came out this year and which ones I like to use most.

This one was always one of my favorite, but I think it works best in conjunction with the Blastmine joke. The escalation, even if its actually the same, is just too funny.

Darkness within + iron maiden = Happy Anna. Might even be time to drop corrupt im downing the meat so fast.

Wiretap is awesome , at some point I was running it with Repressed Alliance (didn't have Blast Mine at the time), so next time I play it again I'll add Blast Mine, awesome combo and pretty strong in indoor maps. It's my Cheryl build, haven't played Cheryl in a while.

I've been using it since release now and honestly it's more like a dead perk most of the time thanks to the gen kick meta. However, if it works it is super fun, so it won't leave my build anytime soon.

Survivors do be hiding, watching, and laughing....

It's a really bad perk, not the worse but really bad, most killers kick gens before committing to chase so you won't get a single use of it most of the times and if you do, it's only useful in interior maps.

I like pairing it with repressed alliance.
