My friend is trying to do something sketchy, but I need to know if I can get banned.

He wants to play DBD but on a older versions which I doubt you can. If you could, could you get banned for it?

Messing with in-game files only at your own risk. EAC don't care about your intensions.

As long as you don't have a way to run a custom server / p2p there is no way for you to play an older version mixed with people who play newer version. The server checks your version.

Actually you can play it without being banned as far as I'm aware but it's kind of annoying to do if I'm being honest, there are streamers like val who play on there occasionally or they'll boot it up whenever DBD is down because back then it was a client based system so there were no dedicated servers , it takes forever to find a match on there so be ready to wait a long time to play lol but it is fun to relive those days

If you have to ask "can i get banned for this" 9/10 times yes

If you mess with the game files and conect to their servers Easyanticheat may detect it and ban you, if you modify files and NEVER conect to BHVR servers altough you may be doing something ban worthy BHVR cant detect it and cant ban you. That being said having an older version of the game and connecting to their servers is impossible, it will detect and outdated patch and disconect you prompting to update.

In other words, if you want to play an older version you also need a private host for that and since you are not conecting to their servers they cant ban you.

On a sidenote, I wouldnt try anything sketchy, not really worth it.

I'm closing this here, as this is not something that we wish to be discussing on our official platforms.
