Sadako Mains!!!! Let's Hug!!!!
There is add-on pass too but they did not listed in dev update.
Our girl is finally getting changes. FINALLY! Never thought to see this day omg!

finally lmao. I was so surprised she was trash on release, like you get THE horror villain and you make her garbo 😭
2 -
Her powers was fun tho but the problem is numbers was so safe. I think these changes will make her more interesting to play. I can't wait to play her more.
1 -
yeah I love her playstyle. I absolutely hated how using it often ended up making you just an M1 killer, and these changes are negating that! Also getting a tape is now something meaningful instead of something you can just ignore.
0 -
A firm “we’ll see how it feels” from me. Slightly concerned how her teleport now has a double cooldown, but we’ll see.
10 -
This sentence resume why Sadako will now be totally useless against coordinated players :)
Cursed Tapes can now be placed in any TV other than the one they were retrieved from.
BHVR has just done the mistake with The Singularity, giving survivors a way too strong counter against its power : EMPs are everywhere and there are so many of them that they can pretty much deny your power the whole trial.
And BHVR does the exact same mistake with Sadako now : take a tape, go to a TV to disable it, do the gen next to this TV - all 4 survivors doing it = No power Sadako for the whole trial or at least 3/4 of the trial (when there are 2 gens left, disabling TV won't be usefull as there won't be enough time left to condemned any survivor).
I know the game so much that just by reading the notes i can say that it is an insane nerf to one of the weakest killer in the game.
GJ BHVR.

Shes has a important nerf too. Put tape on any TV is to strong for survivors and turn off the tv. And 15 s
2 -
Really thrilled to see her getting some changes! The only thing I'm concerned about is the double cooldown on Projection.
I'm going to wait to see how she plays before giving any specific feedback though.
0 -
I agree. Some numbers can change after feedback but she got some good buffs. I am happy finally they are giving something to her.
The only problem i see survivors can close her power so easily and cooldown is insanely long. Maybe this should be change but i will share my final feedback after test myself.
6 -
This thing need to change before go to the live version. Its ridiculous
0 -
If I'm not mistaken all of these changes are just preliminary and will be tested on an upcoming Public Test Build before being pushed to live.
1 -
Definitely interested to see how this plays out. She's going to be a lot different now. You can't ignore TVs anymore.
0 -
Super great that they gave her at least something in chase for now, but I'm really concerned about teleports and tapes.
- So with tape I can get 2 condemn MAX, but at the same time I can be protected from teleport condemnation. And if condemnation getting close - just grab and drop the tape in the nearest TV on the way from one gen to another.
- All survivors grabs the tape. Still atrocious 70 seconds cooldown + 15 seconds cooldown + most TV's are off (tapeless=useless), basically no teleport power.
I see that my common action of sweeping the map (when I teleported few times in a row) and finding survivors now completely removed. That's very scary! Valuable information (appearance/flashing of glowing ring on portrait) is no more available 😖
We will see. At least it's a start, and devs finally hear community (I literally never saw that large amount of pleas to buff Sadie). Maybe they tweak her a little more.
Again, personally, I wouldn't bother so much, I'd just simply added:
- iri tape baskit
- drawing basekit (with healing progress condemnation, no healing finishishing, to avoid slugging)
- news paper basekit
- + what they did already with ghost form (I think going through windows would be appropriate too)
We'll see, we'll see.
0 -
This whole rework was designed to nerf her iri condemned slugging build, and to give survivors more control over her power. Grabbing tapes out of a TV is such a low risk, when you only need to go to the next closest TV to drop the tape off.
Be prepared for coordinated teams going around turning TVs off, just so the killer feels terrible to play.
1 -
Devs are continuing to kill the game.
Playing killer is already a terrible experience against good survivors, and every new patches decrease the pleasure to play killer.
Today it is impossible to win with most of them if you do not tunnel and camp, that is the only way to play killer if you want to be able to win and still survivors have a ton of tools to deal with it and bully you :
- tons of flashlight
- protection hits
- OTR
- Built-in BT/SB
- MFT
- Hope
- Adrenaline
BHVR has nerfed every tools the killers had to properly play the game, rendering all strategies useless.
Playing trials against survivors using 2 to 3 flashlights, blinding you at every pallets, spamming MFT/Resilience/Adrenaline/WOO and benefiting of 20 pallets + shack + strong loops combination is not fun at all, even if you end up on a Draw or 3k.
When average survivors are able to outplay a really good killer player playing a tier A or lower killer, it is not fair and it means a lot about the state of the game.
I hear many killer players here saying they win most of their trials but how do you win them actually ? You just tunnel right at the start of the game... ye anyone can win like this but there is nothing fun in it.
Today, if you play killer without camping/tunneling, the balance is completely off :
- gens fly too fast - thanks gen reg nerf
- chases last too long (compared to the gen speed) - thanks MFT/Resilience, 20 pallets, 5 windows, semi infinite loop combination etc...
I sometimes watch Truetalent, i do not say he is the best killer out there but he is pretty good and barealy average survivors are still able to do all gens against him... while they all go down in 30 seconds...
Well, i hope killers will react accordingly to what BHVR serves them.
2 -
Do not need to test it, Sadako is dead and buried definitely.
1 -
I hope the slugdako style is removed with the one addon being reworked along side these buffs. Just me though maybe.
0 -
Hmmm these changes are interesting but also bit worrying. Need to be tested tomorrow. I feel like in some ways it looks better but in others it is way worse and SWF will be even stronger againts her.
2 -
Why are they trying to make me play Sadako again. I love her, but I don't like that I forget she has a damn jumpscare if you remain idle.
Super excited about the changes, though. Hopefully condemned stacks will have a bit more weight on the matches. It feels it does nothing whenever I play as her.
0 -
Kinda wanted a passive condemned around the power tv but ok.
0 -
now this is gaming. now i just want my sadako pfp
0 -
My thoughts too. Can't overstate how excited I am to see her being addressed, but I do have some hesitations from a couple of these changes.
I'm currently trying to reserve judgement until I can test it myself.

Hmm, I kind of don't like the cd on projection though it is necessary with these changes.
Idk, I kind of like sadako as she is now (besides her nemesis lvl add ons) and people not caring about tvs had a upside to them. Not only for movement but also a bit of detection as anyone within 16m of a TV would have their ring hud element light up briefly. This also doesn't change that survivors can do tapes in your face.
Personally, 1 thing I would love is make newspaper the default duration blink. A more major thing I wanted was to throw out the whole mori part and have status effects base on the stacks.
However, killers that require a team based effort tend to do really well... because solo queue, so maybe better for her in the long run.

Considering that you can mori a fully condemned survivor regardless of hook states, I strongly disagree.
1 -
Honestly a bit disappointed by this overhaul. Too many nerfs alongside the buffs and the Condemned gimmick never interested me. We'll see.

this is true!
PTB is there for us to test things with and for you to give us feedback on, we're going to be monitoring this very carefully to see how it plays out.

Some things worry me about these changes, other than not being able to see the add-on pass.
Grabbing a tape and being able to put it in any TV is strong, as others have said. TV's are also near every generator, so it's not like they're hard to find. I do think the teleport cooldown is needed now that it applies 3/4th stacks to everyone, but it won't feel as natural as the devs think it will. No bloodlust gain from being demanifested may be an issue around some loops, but I can't say much for myself since bloodlust rarely pops on when I play Sadako. Lastly, she will still have her lullaby, so having her drop chase with demanifest is a moot point in terms of stealth mindgames.
All that said, the other changes are pretty dang interesting.
Her demanifest now working more in line with Wraith being able to drop chase and be immune to stuns is VERY interesting. Now you can probably use something like Play With Your Food to grind haste stacks if you need a work around for bloodlust. And now holding the cursed tape as a risk/reward instead of a risk will incentivize smarter play, though I still think they should have an assigned TV or at least slowly introduce more TV's that can take the tape over time starting with the furthest available TV, or at least only work on active TV's.

- The time a TV is disabled after a Survivor removes the Cursed Tape has been increased to 90 seconds (was 60 seconds).
This seems a little too weighted in favor of survivors when coupled with this change
- Cursed Tapes can now be placed in any TV other than the one they were retrieved from.
I would look at reducing the duration a TV is disabled when a survivor removes a tape to about 45 seconds instead, and seeing how things go from there.
I understand that the below change is meant to incentivise Survivors to use the Tapes to prevent Condemned build-up, but that's not very likely to happen.
- Holding a Cursed Tape no longer passively builds Condemned.

Thank you for confirming!
I will definitely be giving this PTB a go - lots of really interesting changes coming!

Sadako reading the mid chapter patch.
I always think her Condemn rate should be increased more consistently. To make her basekit slowdown more meaningful. The change direction goes as I wanted.
4 -
It’s going to be so easy to remove the killer’s power, for such a long time, that I’m going to start calling them EMPs.
1 -
The more I think about it... the worse it gets. If you can hold tape to remove lot of condement and be protected from her projection and you can now apply it to any TV... then it is easy then ever to just waste few seconds to turn off TV for 90 seconds and easily remove any condement, or hold the tape, sit on gen and then just quickly remove condement and turn TV off...
0 -
Right? I'm a survivor main, and even I can see that it's a little too easy for survivors to deny a killer their power for the entire duration of a match. I can see where they got the idea from, but they're being naïve if they think survivors aren't going to take advantage of that 90 second duration to deny Sadako her main ability.
0 -
What are you talking about ? You won't be able to condemned any survivor. Did you understand the changes ?
I tell you again :
1- go to a TV, take the tape
2- go to the nearest TV, use the tape
3- do the gen next to it
4- repeat
If all 4 survivors do this, you won't be able to teleport to a TV 80% of the trial...
0 -
Might give her a try. Really like the idea of Sadako, but her gameplay isn't the most exciting.
0 -
While I see your point, I do feel the need to clarify some things for you.
- Cursed Tapes can now be placed in any TV other than the one they were retrieved from.
- Projecting to a TV now applies ¾ of a stack of Condemned to all Survivors not carrying a Cursed Tape
Take away the first one, keep the second one, suddenly it's too easy to spread condemned. Don't forget that they're also changing the dynamic of the Cursed Tape itself. Some compromise is necessary.
- Getting hit with a Basic Attack while carrying a Cursed Tape will apply one stack of Condemned.
- When a Survivor carrying a Cursed Tape is hooked, all other Survivors gain one stack of Condemned and the Tape is destroyed.
- Holding a Cursed Tape no longer passively builds Condemned.
- Cursed Tapes can now be placed in any TV other than the one they were retrieved from.
1 -
The changes look positive but I have feeling that her add-on might become weaker resulting in a net neutral. how buffed sadako is will vary how much they buffed her add-on in revision.
0 -
I'm slightly worried about being able to put a cursed tape in any tv. With the changes to how condemned stacks are gained it's a bit needful or the spread would get out of hand quickly.
Maybe a compromise is that when you put the tape into a tv it doesn't shut off? That way you're not shutting two tvs off for 90 seconds for the price of one tape? I'll have to see how she feels in the PTB though, this is just off the cuff spitballing.

Well time to give it a try.
Cant belive bhvr actually work on sadako. Nice one.
0 -
Not a fan of the changes tbh.
The condemnation mechanic gets completely handed over to the control of survivors. As long as they run around with a tape, they are immune to the build up (unless they get a direct hit). So the overall build up will be much, much slower. But at least everyone will run around with a tape...
Chases are one of the biggest issues of sadako and the thanges don´t improve on that. Sure, being immune to pallet stuns is neat, but she always struggled from getting hits during a loop. Not being able to build up bloodlust while phased won´t help with that at all.
2 -
I agree but with the changes it will be impossible to spread condmened, even worst than how it is now.
No one will run with a tape, just take one, use it instantly, do the gen next to it.
You will see, it will be horrible to play Sadako with those changes.
0 -
They won't run with a tape...
Disabling a TV = removing the Sadako's power
Everyone will use the tape to remove Sadako's power.
0 -
I'll play and see how it goes and what changes to addons bring, but the first changes that pop in my mind are when a TV turns on, it's aura turns yellow for say 10 seconds and when a survivor dumps a tape, both the TV the tape came from and the TV they dumped it in turn back on. That introduces layers of counterplay and some thought on when and where to use tapes.
0 -
Sadako was the one I had for the rework portion on the survey so this was a pleasant surprise! Really interested to see how it'll play in-game.

Here is a summary of why this next update is terrible for Sadako, for those unable to read through lines.
2 -
assuming changes are what they are. I hope you enjoy new tunneldako play-style because with 90 sec TV turns off from survivor and 70 second teleporting cooldown's. On top of that, there is 15 second cooldown for using projection. Combing all 3 of these changes means that Sadako's mobility around the map will be crippled.
This is only stand-out change that looks positive. what this change means is that as long a survivor holds a tape, you can m1 survivor to keep increasing their condemn stacks. You can also bet the survivor will be abusing this buckle up perk that now grants endurance on two people.....so if I slug someone as sadako, then they get picked up and I hit them with tape, I get 1 stack of condemn and i will keep chasing exact same survivor until they die.
Hooking a survivor now actively punishes me even more then previously because it destroys tape and therefore removes active ability to apply condemn onto survivors. I have not played this version of Sadako but I can already see how I will be playing
Overall changes is that Sadako has worse mobility, worse ability to spread condemn due to TV cooldowns and projection cooldown of 15 seconds. They're essentially forcing killer to tunnel survivors with tapes to use the ability.

I'm still disappointed that she can't just Teleport to TV's that are turned off in the first place, albeit a slower Teleport (Perhaps a need to charge the teleport while looking at the TV). Akin to how in the Movies turning the TV off didn't stop her.
0 -
Tell that to surv mains that say SM and Knight is easy mode and holds games hostages
0 -
Okkkkkk but yet Freddy, Trapper, Mikey, Twins, and Pyramid still sitting in the dust makes no sense especially since Twins was supposed to get reworked first
0 -
Some of those changes are extremely good but some are also extremely awful, the awful ones I'm mentioning are the cooldown to her teleporting and how survivors can now remove condemned from any TV. That right there is not a good change in my opinion.
I think that the two furthest TV's from a where a survivor got their tape should allow survivors to remove their condemned, not all TV's.
But still I'm glad that she is getting some love considering that she is extremely weak at the moment.
0 -
Being able to put tapes in any tv with the combination of the disabled tv time being increased to 90 seconds is a heavy nerf. This’ll heavily reduced her ability to teleport which is kinda concerning.
