say goodbye to the xenomorph
survivors are already complaining calling for a nerf since his tail can hit at anytime (the wind up speed is almost the same as nemesis quickly pulling it out and slamming it down or death slinger quickly zooming in and shooting lmao) if they nerf the tail to take longer then itll be easier to fake at a window or pallet and when they DO vault theyll be to the side by the time the tail actually makes it to them (and miss.) this will effectivly kill the xenomorph so might as well say goodbye now

Bruh xeno needs a buff to runner mode not a nerf considering how strong the counterplay is against him. If they end up nerfing him goodbye to him indeed
36 -
he will, I can't tell you how many survivors iv seen complain about him because hes able to hit fast and over things lol

Oh god please shut up, we have this same thread every single time and nothing happens. We don't need more us vs them garbage.
49 -
can we nerf these threads instead
38 -
Honestly as it is now I think xeno is fine.
2 -
The core of the tail attack can stay as it is. I just would change these things:
- a tail hitbox that matches the size of the tail because it looks like huntress beachball hits all the time.
- on RDP you cant dodge the tail in most of the tighter hallways when the xeno shoots for the middle
- no tail dragging in the middle of an tail attack or an matching animation at least.
- i saw hits from good player that are almost 90 degree out of animation.
- a better audio and visual cue about wind up
7 - a tail hitbox that matches the size of the tail because it looks like huntress beachball hits all the time.
-
That’s like half of the killers in the game but even better. Nemesis is better at that, artist, demo (kinda), pyramid head, trickster, huntress, slinger, plague…

It's still day 1. Give people a chance to get used to him and they'll calm down.
Never react to the day 1 hysterics.
9 -
I almost wish I'd been around when they launched Pinhead just to watch people lose their damn minds over the Lament Configuration mechanics.
3 -
Already crying? Jesus
7 -
Geez the killer has been out for like 5 minutes can y'all try not sweating for once? Like boohoo some survivors escaped a new killer that nobody can efficiently play yet wahh, aw I can't escape his tail wahh like can y'all try and just work with it for a minute JFC
6 -
They will nerf him cuz he is a nub stomper and even with SoloQ he can win and due to the cries
1 -
Please don't Pryamid head them.
Xeno is perfectly fine, if they want to nerf its power, then buff turrets back up a bit, for the love of god don't make the power clunky or worse to use, even a little bit. It's perfect the way it is.
5 -
I think they are absolutely fine.
The tail is that strong because it has counterplay in the turrets.
Otherwise, why would they be there. To counter a power that can be countered without them?
3 -
Thank you, I cannot agree more. Each time a new Killer got released it is the same BS over and over again.
7 -
I think the only real issue people are having with the tail strike is there isn't much you can do other than spin juke if there isn't a turret nearby. If we compare the Xeno to Nemesis:
Nemesis T1/T2 Tentacle
- Range: 5 m
- Movement: 3.8 m/s
- Charge Time: 0.35s
- Hit Time: 0.333s
- Attack CD: 2.5s
- Damage: Must be infected already
Nemesis T3 Tentacle
- Range: 6m
- Movement: 4 m/s
- All other stats same
Xeno Tail
- Range: 4.8m
- Movement: 4.6 m/s
- Charge Time: 0.2s
- Hit Time: 0.4s
- Attack CD: 3s
- Damage: Immediate, but prevented by turrets.
I think people are having a hard time figuring it out because the Xeno tail stab is fast to charge (0.2s is not very much reaction time, and can easily react to pallets/windows), it doesn't slow the Xeno at all (no need to time anything, just pull up when you're in range), has a long lingering hit box (can obviously drag to extend the hitbox laterally), and ofc it wounds immediately.
I think after getting used to using turrets, Survivors will be better at dealing with it, but without a turret nearby, it does kinda feel like you're screwed and have no options.
At least with Nemmy you can greed a pallet and bait his Tentacle. Doing so slows him down, and if you're not infected, then no worries really., you can throw a pallet and run to make distance even off the hit... but vs. The Xeno, if you throw the pallet, your animation takes too long vs. its charge, so Xeno can react immediately to the animation, and you get stabbed over the pallet. If you don't throw it and Xeno pulls up her tail, the Xeno doesn't slow down at all, so you gain nothing anyway... so its a damned if you do, damned if you don't scenario. Your only hope is the Xeno misses, and you get more distance on her, or she mind games herself and walks in range of tbe pallet...
Not convinced its OP yet, but have to be mindful of it...
9 -
Her tail is like a better Nemesis tentacle and isn't even punishable most of the time if the Xeno misses.
2 -
Funny how this can used in 2 ways lol
If you want to know the 2nd way equip the queen skin

The tail attack should be faster feels way slower than nemesis tentacle. Maybe because I play on console but it should definetely buffed to be bit faster.

So far, the Xenomorph seems to be a quite well designed killer. It feels super to play, has lots of helpful addons, can use many different perks and it has a power that works and feels pretty good.
Crawler Mode doesn't need any changes as far as I am concerned.
2 -
Please don't listen to all the complaining asking for nerfs just because they're mediocre at chases imo xeno is so fun to go against and play as and i hope they stays that way🙏

preach.

It hasn't been long and people need time to figure things out (both sides) --- but there are two things that concern me and I don't know if any amount of figuring things out will be able to remove those concerns.
a) is the damned if you do damned if you don't scenario around windows and vaults. If you don't predrop and have a good chunk of distance on top you just get hit. There's nothing to outplay there, nothing to mindgame, nothing to react to. It's plain "have surplus distance and maintain it".
b) is the incredibly fast charge time. Given how ping works in this game, a Xeno player can play by reacting to what they see on screen; they see a surv start e.g. a vault or drop animation: charge and they get hit. The surv on the other hand is unable to react to the M2 in anyway; human good-average reaction time + ping is already more than the charge time if you and the killer don't happen to both live right next to the server. Add to that drag (which again, Xeno can do based on reaction but the surv can't) - and you kinda even have to remove the prediction game that you have to play on high ping.
If all you can reasonably do is prerun and predrop... that's... well... not exactly fun and interactive.
That being said, I would love to be proven wrong and see people discover ways to actually play chase instead of shift-W+drop whatever you see well in advance.

Thank you very much for the perfectly summarized comparison

Just like the last few killers right?

Some players have a short attention span.
Gotta say, there is a ton to learn about the xenomorph and it's tail Hitbox in particular. Many hours of playtime to go.
Would love to know though: is it intended that when the Xenomorph exists a tunnel and attacks a turret, that the turret doesn't get damaged?

So I'm not the only one who experienced that
I thought it had to do with my connection to the match

yes please

Freddy would like to have a word with you about that.

Look at you trying to be sensible and calm the masses!
You may have an extra toy during recess!! 🎁😎
2 -
Well, you can tell in your first games, not 24 hours.
0 punishment when they missing tail hits
No indication or sound before wind up, now you just die.
5 -
idk what they pay you for being community manager but they should pay you more. having to respond to *gestures vaguely* all this seems like hell
2 -
The tail is "OP"? Look I just bought the xenomorph and I have a lot of fun Been playing him since he was released so please just wait a bit before asking to nerf him it's day 1 please calm down
1 -
Despite being faster than nemesis i dont feel tail had extra chance to hit you.If u bait a window vault killer doesnt have time to hit u while vaulting
2 -
It's a matter of opinion I suppose. I personally believe it's OP when you consider the kit this killer has. I don't expect killer mains to admit it's too strong considering nobody in this game regardless of which side they play ever admits something they have is OP.
- Extremely good map mobility
- Doesn't have to get multiple hits like Nemesis
- Built in slowdown with survivors having to interact with flamethrowers. These can be made trivial by a good Xeno.
I don't feel like there being SOME actual consequence to missing your special attack is unreasonable at all. Considering how strong this killer is overall. I expect they will eventually tone down his tail attack slightly. The kill rates Behavior uses will speak for themselves regardless of what I personally believe. He already has one of the highest kill rates based on third party data. This wasn't the case for singularity at all. I can't imagine how high it will go once people learn the finer points of playing this killer.

Based Peanits.

Flashback of old deadslinger intensifies.
What about to think as the killer it was fun to play agaisnt old deadslinger.
1 -
PTB was ok but this change is overkill you can spam it forever now, no penalty for missing
then tunnels on every generator with zero cooldown is kinda brutal, they're insane for camping and 3-gens, we don't really need months of data to see killer has some problems but whatever, guess it's nerfed in 2024 when sales are low
3 -
Survs trying to withold their comments for the next 24 hours after reading this post
3 -
Wouldn't put it past bhvr to nerf. We all knew aht happened to Deathslinger
1 -
I don't know what game you guys are playing, but xeno is very easy to loop in chases. It's actually to the point I'm debating if I should get him or, not since he not that good at taking down survivors fast. I just don't see how everyone is saying how OP he is, he's really not. I know it's hard to admit when your just bad,but isn't it possible all you complaining are just not as good as you think you are? This killer is like low B tier. Same as nemmy.
3 -
the tail attack recovery is fine. its basically right at nemesis. the thing is he isnt slowed down much which is what most people are interpreting as "missed cooldown."
1 -
Exclusive killer players when an exclusive killer player gets called out by the devs for making an overdramatic complaint, trying to not make more overdramatic complaints
(I don't even disagree that xenomorph is mostly fine as is, btw. the irony of your post in the context of what the OP was is what I'm criticizing here)

this goes for both sides equally.

May i ask from were you got these numbers? Sounds right, just curios if they're offical.
I used to main huntress and i wonder if you want to do the M2 into M1 combo on Xeno aswell. And how many stacks of SbfL (without the perk obv) this technically would give.

The last 3 killers were all incredibly bad on release. Knight was completely horrible. SM was even worse than she is now because she had no other play style than 3 gens and Singularity was probably one of the worst releases to date. They had to hotfix this poor killer in the first week. There was no reason to nerf them because they were already way too weak.
I think it's likely they will nerf Xeno in some way. Maybe by buffing the flamethrowers. But I don't think they will go the route of Billy or Freddy where they completely butchered the killer.

Sure thing, they came from the official DBD wiki:
https://deadbydaylight.fandom.com/wiki/The_Xenomorph?so=search
On it's home screen it is "official recognised and supported by the Developers at Behaviour Interactive.", so I assume there is some level of organised release of this information to the wiki maintainers.

Which is why I didn't buy. I was excited for both Freddy release and buffs... Worst killer in game now.
0 -
Knight was only really bad during PTB because of various bugs
Skull Merchant I agree with
Singularity is without a doubt the most underrated killer in Dead by Daylights history
Also saying "they had to hotfix this poor killer in the first week" is as if they've never done this before. Best example probably being Spirit who was not only garbage on PTB, but also when she reached live. She received a plethora of buffs and was considered the 3rd best killer in the game for the longest time (probably a good year) because people kept seeing Billy as the 2nd best, despite obviously not being the case when looking back.
Another killer worth mentioning is Blight. Majority of people considered him to be garbage on PTB, but once he reached live they fixed a good chunk of his issues and was pretty well received. Despite this they buffed him even further in a later hotfix where he could now break pallets with a Lethal Rush
