Cross Progression for Console?
Left the game 3 years ago mainly due to no cross progression, still seems like it's never ever coming. I'm assuming no news on it??
I get it can be complicated but for xbox especially I really dont see how it is when Microsoft allow cross progression for the most part.
Don't get why this was ever announced years ago if it was only ever coming for switch and stadia and that's it. Really frustrating.

There is unfortunately nothing for us to announce at the moment. It hasn't yet been possible due to circumstances beyond our control. We hear you, though, and the topic of cross progression isn't dead by any means. We would still love to make this happen if we're ever able to.

Switch player here! The game is barely functional and we never got it either 😪

Stadia is no more, and Switch was delayed indefinitely apparently. So no, there's been no news about Cross Progression in maybe two years now.

Microsoft and Sony don't want it, so there's not much Behaviour can do.

We can't blame solely the devs for Cross Progression not coming yet, if ever. Sony and Microsoft and Nintendo all have to separately agree to a deal to make it happen.
What we can hit the devs for is the reason so many players wish to abandon their consoles to run their game on a PC capable of handling DBD well. Long standing issues like frame rates, M&K support, controller settings, etc.

My issue isn‘t the performance, but the fact, that I have to pay another 72€/ year to play Dbd.
Because of this I want to switch to Pc.

That's a really good point. I believe the PSN service price is going up next year, and most of the console playerbase is on the PlayStations.

If they added K&M this would satisfy me enough to be happy as I've always voiced my opinion about it and how other games have it as PS and Xbox gamer this really annoys me given how in order to be able to loop properly by spinning and playing killers like blight well are designed for K&M.

Just take the leap and start a new account. Only if you really like this game, though.

[Edit] I posted this in the wrong topic. Thought this topic was "Console only crossplay."

Cant you atleast tell us the reason why its not possibe right now?

They should, but they won't. Does nobody remember the build that had it enabled by accident because of Unreal Engine has it enabled by default, and they quietly patched it out?

Yeah it's so stupid other games can do it and they already have it on pc. I'm no expert but I imagine it would not be that hard and it would be worth it I know I would still like cross progression but I would not be ranting so often.

Once you put thousands of hours and whatever monies into this game it's very hard to willing toss all that away, plus losing any collected cosmetics, and then having to rebuy the game itself and then all the DLC's. Next comes the best part, regrinding and unlocking everything all over again. I'm not willing to do that.

time and money aren't that easy to come around honey.

If you are someone with a significant amount of time and money invested in DBD, giving that up and starting a new account is a non-solution.
Unless you have a pile of money and nothing else to do with your time.
I have ~3.5K hours on PSN and actually bought a Steam copy and play it from time to time, but will never commit more than a handful hours (usually just PTB) to the PC version. All the progress and cosmetics earned over four years are just too much to abandon.
If cross progression ever happens, it'll be PC all day long, but not until then.

It's pretty straightforward. If Sony and Microsoft were cool with cross-progression, we'd have cross-progression.
I've heard some horror stories about the backend of the code since they really had no plan for the game to explode how it did, but it should still be fairly trivial for them to enable cross-progression. It is bonkers though that there's nothing between Xbox and Windows.
