Things you thought as a noob that were completely wrong

When I first started playing DBD it was a couple of weeks after launch, I never realised the sound proc'd on the skill check - I always kept wondering what that noise was!
I'm another one who thought Wraith was insanely powerful at the start, as did most people I think at that time.
It's funny looking back on the way things have changed.

I thought you died on hook only if you actually stopped struggling, and was pissed off every time I died thinking I wasn't struggling fast enough.
My DS4 hates me today

I was not able to understand hook phases, almost always used to try to kobe and sometimes die on the second hook, sometimes on the third hook.
Thanks god it didn't take long to learn it lol

i thought Survivors would run slower after a hit than before it.
it made sense to me back then (and the basic idea still does tbh), but it turned out i was wrong.
i also thought hooks that were used for sacrifices would respawn / only have a certain chance to break once the entity consumed the survivor. (no idea how i thought that)
i thought there would be different kill animations for the basement hooks, the more survivors have been hooked there at once (that was before i played the game and only saw a YouTuber play the Beta)
and finally i thought Freddy was a super cool Killer and i would turn into a Freddy main. i even Prestiged him to P1 before they nerfed him and i realized how much of a BP waste that was... guess the Hype took controll over me at that time xD (now has him P3 with all perks btw)

i remember that!
(even though i always put Trapper above Wraith... a love so strong, it survived till today! (<-- this guy is still horribly overrating Trapper))
i also remember how Billy was considered to be the worst out of the 3 Killers...
the good old times... xD

I thought pallets were originally made for Killers to trap me and not the other way around, so I would generally avoid pallets at all cost for the first few hours of playing the game.

I honestly thought this game had built in voice comms! When this game first launched on console I would plug in my mic and talk to the survivors and tell them what to do lol crazy part is they listened lol

I really thought the number of generators that spawned/needed repairs was random. I guess I loaded a couple of matches with only 3 survivors without paying attention to it, and watched the number "4" up there. Then played some matches with the number "5", and thought it was bad luck for survivors.
I also thought the hatch would be there *always* because playing as killer on one of my first matches I saw some guy escape that way, and hadn't seen the hatch as survivor yet...
I spent the next 5 or so matches as survivor looking for the damn thing all game long.

@PhantomMask20763 Real talk though, Insidious is actually really good on Freddy.
It's basically renewable Paint.
Tag a survivor then lose them? Just stand still for 2 second and activate Freddy's radar.

I almost forgot....the biggest mistake I made in this game ever:
I didn't prestige Billy (two possible times) because I thought the reward, the (Legacy) fire shirt and pants, were dumb. And this was back when window juking was a REAL thing.
I remember thinking, "Why in the HELL would I want to stand out like a lighthouse? I'm a killer, I'm suppose to be sneaky, not broadcast where I am clear across the map".

Lol. Brothers are like that though, they are always mocking you over little things, can't say my sister is any better, though.

I used the purple fog thickener as killer thinking it would actually help me sneak on survivors. Playing Trapper.
