Update | The Legion
People of the Fog,
Since the release of Chapter 11: The Darkness Among Us, we have received a lot of feedback, both positive and negative, regarding The Legion. With this update, we aim to bridge the gap in the extreme playstyle of this Killer and remove some of the ongoing frustrations when playing as The Legion as well as against The Legion.
The following changes allow for direct Survivor counter-play, reduce the potential for exploiting certain game mechanics, and bring The Legion’s default attributes in-line with other Killers, all while retaining the core vision of this Killer.
The Legion
- The Legion’s base movement speed is increased to 4.6m/s.
- The Legion’s Terror Radius is increased to 32m.
- Most of The Legion’s add-ons are rebalanced or reworked to account for the changes to Feral Frenzy and the Deep Wound status effect.
- The Iridescent button addon no longer requires The Legion to apply Deep Wound for the effects to be active.
Feral Frenzy Update
- The recharge time of Feral Frenzy is increased and now requires a full power gauge to use it. Once it has been activated, the Legion must wait until the power gauge is full to be able to trigger the power again.
- The duration of Feral Frenzy is increased. The Legion spends longer in frenzy.
- The movement speed of Feral Frenzy is significantly reduced. The Legion moves faster than base speed while in frenzy, but not as fast as they did before.
- The Legion can no longer see blood pools (in addition to not seeing scratch marks) while in Feral Frenzy.
- Feral Frenzy is immediately and automatically cancelled whenever The Legion misses an attack while in frenzy.
Deep Wound Update
- The Deep Wound timer pauses for survivors within The Killer's Terror Radius–regardless of whether they are in a chase or not.
- The Deep Wound timer pauses while Mending.
- The Killer does not see the Deep Wound timer progress–only the Deep Wound bar to know that Deep Wound has been applied.
- The Deep Wound timer progress is no longer reduced by regular Feral Frenzy attacks.
We hope these updates will enrich your gaming experience and we look forward to your feedback regarding The Legion.
See you in the Fog.

Legion update Q&A WITH Ethan Larson
Following the massive turnout for our Q&A on the upcoming Legion update, we decided to take some of the most frequently asked questions and answer them today! If you don't see your question here, there's a chance it will appear in the livestream next Thursday.
Will there be an update to the Deranged Pursuit trophy?
We will be updating the description on some platforms to reflect the new requirement, which is as follows: "In public matches, as the Legion, down 25 different Survivors that have Deep Wound applied."
Since deep wounds no longer decrease within the terror radius, have you considered making mending a healing action so it works with Nurse's Calling?
With this change in mind, we have considered classifying mending as a healing action. This would mean that all healing perks, not just Nurse's Calling, would affect mending. Mending will not be considered a healing action for the PTB, although this is something we can experiment with in the future if it is deemed necessary.
Will you still gain stacks for perks while using Feral Frenzy?
This has not been changed. Any perk that could gain a stack from a frenzied attack prior to the update will continue to gain stacks after the update.
Will the Legion's scoring events be increased since Feral Frenzy will be used less frequently?
There have not been any changes to Legion scoring just yet. We will be monitoring how this plays out on the PTB and make changes if it is necessary.
What kind of add-ons can we expect with this update?
Many of the Legion's add-ons have been balanced or changed with this update. Here are a few examples:
- Iridescent Button: No longer requires a Feral Frenzy hit in order to break pallets.
- Smiley Face Pin: Added a 60 second Blindness status effect when Feral Frenzy hitting a Survivor with Deep Wound.
- Defaced Smiley Pin: Added a 60 second Mangled status effect when Feral Frenzy hitting a Survivor with Deep Wound.
- Frank's Mix Tape: Removes 25% of the bleedout time.
Why is Deep Wound now based on terror radius?
Previously, the Killer could turn around and follow the Survivor backwards to avoid a chase. This creates a situation where the Survivor could not stop running without getting hit and downed, but also bled out from their Deep Wounds if they continued running. With Deep Wound instead based on terror radius, this is no longer possible.
Don't see your question here? We may be saving it for the live Q&A session next Thursday. If you haven't had a chance to ask a question yet, there's still time. If there's something you'd like to see answered, you can post it in this thread: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/57974/
