Mettle of Man nerf!!
Great Job Devs! This is a much welcomed change and will be very healthy for the game!

Nah they pretty much removed the use for solo survivors and made it a very useful perk for SWF groups.

can't find it where is the thread with the nerf?

Anyone is able to run empathy and run in to take a hit when someone is injured or being carried to a hook. Alternatively, you could also take a hit for someone after unhooking them and it will also count as a protection hit. Basically it uses the same conditions as We're Gonna Live Forever's protection hits and that perk works for everyone, not just SWF.
There should be a link to the Dev Update at the top of the page.

thnx

Err, anyone else have difficulty getting WGLF stacks from protection hits that aren't from a killer transporting? Cause it's a coin flip whether I get them or not.
13 -
So I get punished for NOT farming the unhooked survivor? I'm not sure about this behaviour...
If I go for the unhooked person they will have DS and BT, if I go for the unhooker they get MoM... Not a good design
1 -
The crybabies got their way again, big shocker. I guess we know they hit the threshold for ash DLC's sold now it's fine to bury the perk. Wish I could get a refund.
8 -
Well, if it requires three protection hits, that shouldn't be an issue. Say you always go for the unhooker. It'd require them to be unhooked, escape, take another hit while you're hooking someone else (this is the second hook), and do it again a third time (death hook).

Also as we mentioned in the Dev Update.
This is ONE thing we are testing at the moment for MoM. There is other concepts that still need to be tested. Point is, it will change but we are not 100% set on how yet.

I actually do not mind this change to MoM. Changes the criteria some, making it more situational than general. As a Killer, I welcome the change. As a survivor, I didnt run it to begin with and as I typically am the lone wolf type solo player, I wouldn't be saving people anyways, let them die.
7 -
Time to take hits while survivors are being carried
3 -
As for the perk change I like it I never really had a problem with it but it's better for the people that didn't like it now.

Waaahh,
waaaaah,
waaaaaaaaah

I only see one crybaby here. At least they added counterplay to the perk so it isn’t a brainless crutch for survivors that can’t beat a base killer. Legitimate good job on their part.
16 -
good news.
mom gave despair and pain to the killer users.
5 -
sounds like a great change, i was posting about this idea long time ago. lets hope they the balls in the end and will do it. they should have made enough money with the dlc by now.
3 -
As if the current MoM does not have any requirement ... I would say it activates only 50% of the time I bring it with me.
If you want to nerf it, maybe it's better to give the survivor broken status for a couple of minutes or so after its activation.
1 -
risk = reward, that is how it should have been , not low risk = high reward, makes it more skillful and require more teamwork to use. I like this.
6 -
Meh.
I am not the guy that unhooks when the Killer is nearby. Also it promotes Tunneling - you can better go for the unhooked Person and slug him, if the Unhooker does not have Borrowed Time instead of giving a MoM-Stack to the guy who unhooked. (This is the case anyway, but now there is one more point for going for the unhooked person)
But well, lets see what is the next Perk with complaints. I better get used to Perks like Boil Over, so that I am prepared for the future.

As a solo survivor I usually take 1 hit for someone per game. But 3? You’d have to run a different build with perks like empathy just to be able to use the perk to it’s full potential. On top of that you’d have to follow injured players which means another player isn’t helping with the objective.
Meanwhile in a SWF group, all you’d have to do is communicate: “hey the killer is about to down me near the killer shack, come here if you want a MoM stack”. No perks needed and almost no wasted time. This is about as easy as it gets.
Don’t get me wrong, I like that you’re listening to feedback and making MoM more fair for killers but it needs to be tuned. Making it harder for solo but not for SWF is not really a good idea as it will continue to promote a toxic playstyle among SWF groups.
4 -
@Usui Are you a Legion main? I was just curious because of you wanting refunds due to changes made.
4 -
Thank the Lord, the game can go back to being much healthier now.
Less toxicity = better community.
10 -
This is a nice change.
It'll still be a very strong perk but at least now it feels more balanced.
2 -
From both perspectives, I like this, you have to work for it, it would really pair well with WGLF, you get stacks for getting hit and not only that, you take a free ignored shot for being a saver.
4 -
We can first agreed with each other.

You'll see Monstrous Shrine more times than the new MoM
0 -
It's a good change. It'll encourage more block hooks which is annoying, but at least you aren't overwhelmingly punished for not playing Hillbilly.
3 -
Would protection hits actually be fixed? It normally only counts if you are basically touching the other person.
2 -
True, I'll take mad grit with me more often
1 -
OH MY GOD!
I am dying of laughter on the people in this thread saying that the perk is bad now
7 -
New MoM is trash. If I see a surv with this perk next month, I'll know its you
3 -
What new MoM? Has the perk been changed in any way? All I read is that the devs were looking into changing it and explicitly mentioned the possibility they're currently tinkering with, while emphasizing that it's not final.
6 -
Devs: Ok, we are looking at a few possible changes to MoM. Here is one of several possibilities.
Survivors who only run meta perks:
15 -
I agree with you, this will just open the gap between solo and swf more. However, it would be less a pain in the ass for basic M1 killers and I care more about that right now. Why? Cuz I can finally verse and play more different killers than 99.9% Nurse and Billy.
1 -
It's just an idea they're looking at. Nothing is set yet. Overall I like the idea. I do think changing it to two protection hits might be a better route though.
0 -
I agree that two protection hits would be better with this form. If it is a one time perk make it worth it! Not being downed by taking two protection hits in a row would be good.
Another thought was to make it so that it was 3 hits but the perk resets after being hooked. Thereby needing to lose the chase and heal.

Survivors get more taken away. Shocking I know. And no chance of refund
2 -
Well, survivor had a lot and to much in the first place. It's just reasonable and logical to take it away. You had ur fun for 2 years, some really extreme fun bullying the ######### out of killers.
Now make place for balance.
10 -
Honestly, this doesn't seem like that bad of a change. Also, like I proposed in my MoM rework, having only protection hits count is lore friendly for Ash lmfao.
Still, I'm interested in seeing what else is being toyed with. I'd love it if they tried something similar to mine.
4 -
lol you're funny.
4 -
I usually get them but i haven't use Wglf since the Double bloodpoint
0 -
If this aint the truth
2 -
BAAAAAAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHA
That's rich!
3 -
We're still experimenting with different changes at the moment, it's not set in stone just yet, but I'll just throw a scenario out there for discussion.
- Survivor is being carried to a hook.
- Take a hit.
- Styptic.
- Take a hit.
- Take another hit, MoM activates.
You could basically get MoM right away with little to no effort. This could be a game changer at the start of the game, allowing the downed survivor to go free and restart the chase. This was a huge problem with the old DS and a big part of why it was changed.
Ideally it should be pretty hard to activate. The effects of the perk are huge and could completely change the course of a game. Making it too easy to get would be a bit of a problem.
9 -
@prayer_survivor I play xbox so if you see me with it its not a surprise
0 -
That seems like a waste of a stypic to get your perk to activate? Also weren't you guys going to nerf instant heals cause they're kinda dumb?
5 -
The changes are great, the perk is still powerful, but now there's counter and the survivors actually have to earn the use of such powerful perk.
Pretty good job so far!! 😃
