Survivor Hook State Icons

It would be nice if there were some indication on the survivors' icons of what their hook status is. If I'm trying to get my BBQ 4 stack and there are four identical Megs (true story), then it would be nice if I could look at their icons and know who has been hooked and who hasn't without having to memorize their names.

It would also be nice to know if a survivor were dead on hook. I had a game today where I was two-hooking everyone so we could all profit from someone's BPS. Well, one of the survivors reached second state on their first hook without me realizing it. When I hooked them the second time, they were immediately sacrificed. I felt bad. I felt even worse when the game ended and I saw they were the one who burned the BPS.

An indicator of survivors' hook statuses would be extremely useful.

@CoffengMin That did occur to me, but if a killer's tunneling, they're already focused on one survivor. They chased that survivor, they hooked that survivor, they probably camped the hook. They don't need an icon to tell them what that survivor's status is, because they either already know the status or they're going to go after that survivor, anyway. The killers who don't know a survivor's hook status are the ones who are 'spreading the love,' not focusing on any one survivor, so they don't know that a survivor reached second stage on the hook. They can't remember if they need to hook the Nea with the blood or the Nea without the blood to get their BBQ 4 stack.

I hate that my choice when playing chill games is to either 1. not hook anyone more than once, or 2. risk hooking a survivor who already reached second state. So, I stick to only hooking everyone once. I dunno, the survivors I play with would probably like a few more chances to make a hook save. Their altruism scores must be pretty crap.

Nah, IMHO, the game's far more fun with uncertainty, on both sides, on who's got another hook in them.

Maybe the gates are open, or almost open, and the killer want to bait the survivors into a rescue... oops, that survivor's dead on hook, they now have no reason to stick around/slow down.

Or maybe a killer's carrying someone to the hook... is that survivor dead on hook, or has another state in them? Can't remember, so let's all cluster by the gate just in case we need to go in for an epic rescue. Oh no, they're dead. Double-oh-no, the killer has blood warden! If only we'd known the survivor was dead we could have avoided this! Or maybe I got in position, hiding near the hook, to pull off a save, only to realize no save could be made and exposed myself to danger on my way to the gate.

That's what makes for great moments.

@starpilotsix Well, I didn't necessarily mean that the survivors need to see it.

I just wanted something so I could avoid accidentally killing a survivor when I play killer. Being able to hook survivors more than one or zero times would mean more Altruism points for them, but I understand if players think that's not a good idea.

I understand where you're coming from, and me too i wish i had someway to count the hooks... especially when i'm playing as a friendly killer and would prefer avoid killing a survivor by mistake. I try to keep track but sometime it slips my mind 😅

@Gcarrara I'm happy someone else gets it :) I was starting to think I was the only one lol. I try really hard to keep track, but if I'm in the middle of a chase while someone's on the hook, it's really easy to miss seeing the "Entity Summoned" notification.

It would be a good idea, if everyone went for triple hooking everyone, but that's not how many people play.

The risk with a feature like that is giving out an information that could push people to tunnel a person just because they are on death hook.

i meant in the way of : if the killer sees multiple survivors hell go for the 1 on their last hook instead of the other, i personally would do that if i could but i never really pay attention so i dont get to do it much, its efficient but it sucks for the surv

@CoffengMin It depends on the killer. It'd get some survivors killed and it'd save other surivors' lives. I've accidentally killed survivors just trying to get my BBQ 4 stack because I couldn't tell who'd been hooked. One match in particular stands out in my mind because I accidentally killed 2 survivors trying to get my BBQ 4 stack (3 Ashes in one match, still didn't get the 4 stack, either, 'cause I kept choosing the wrong Ashes to chase).

Rather than a default, it could be added to BBQ just to help killers get the 4 stack and not tunnel. If I'm remembering correctly, getting a stack on BBQ is usually worth more than getting a sacrifice.

Just an idea. However, due to the reaction, it seems unlikely this would ever get implemented, so it's all just daydreaming on my part.
