The fear in this game...
Ok now I know this is an online game so its not supposed to be mega scary lol but sometimes we do end up getting some jumpscare killers. Do people really hate that? I always thought Prayer Beads on Spirit was awesome because of the jumpscares, and Scratched Mirror Myers because of the same but I guess they are considered OP?

No, people consider Prayer Beads OP because there is no counter to it. Its as E Z as running to the gen with Mother-Daughter Ring + Prayer Beads, feeling around for what side they're on the gen... And grabbing them.
People hate it because it instills paranoia for any map, while for Mirror Myers its only one specific map that makes it effective, and that's Lerys. Maybe The Game... But mostly Lerys.
And this game used to be "scary" and ominous... But that was when the engine/lighting was way different, and the game was less focused on crutch perk after crutch perk after crutch perk. It was more a long the lines of... Sabo every hook, Iron Grasp/Agitation was the meta, 99% gens, and overall super mega toxicity with flashlights that blinded you from the back of your head... You know... "Fun"

the difference between prayer beads and something like tier 1 myers (or ghostface) is that the former cannot be countered by any realistic means, whereas the latter can be played around if you're paying enough attention
i don't mind playing against jumpscare killers (the only reason i dislike tier 1 myers is that they always just sit in another room next to a hooked person camping), and the jumpscare factor is not what sucks about prayer beads

Ngl I've played this game for over 2 years and just being in the terror radius stresses me out so getting jumpscared basically causes me to go into convulsions.

I main survivor and I love getting jump scared! I find it hilarious and usually end up laughing at myself for letting it happen. Last killer to jump scare me was ghost face

Fear is subjective, for example this is is why people think the conjuring is considered a "horror movie."
Scratch mirror Myers is always fun but prayer beads on spirit is annoying. You cant predict where she is when shes phasing unless you're baiting her to follow you with your blood/moans/scratch marks.
The only time shes loopable is after she uses her ability .
Long story short - prayer beads make no noise and she can grab off gens

I love the scares, that's why I play the hag. With her traps, MoM and her small frame she really can spooks the survivors. Shackles and Ear add-ons let her become extra sneaky.
And she is still viable on most maps and mid to high rank. <3

Just minding my own business doing a gen then I see Ghostfaces bastard face slowly leaning round a corner is terrifyingly hilarious.

It's awesome until you see teammates get yanked off things for the 1000th time, cause every spirit I encounter seems to run prayer beads now. Scratched mirror Myers is not OP, but on certain maps he is pretty close to it.

Just walking around as a killer and having a survivor burst out of a locker because they thought you saw them go in there can be a funny jump scare.

I was recently jumpscared by a survivor. I was running Iron Maiden as legion. I noticed a survivor in the basement. I came down, oppened the first closet to the left and a survivor came out screaming from the closet next to it! It scared me the hell out! Luckily I had a knife with me so I stabed him while I also screamed ,:-D

The biggest jump scare I ever got was when I opened a locker to restock hatchets - and a Quentin was inside. Those bug eyes suddenly staring into mine as my hand reached out and grabbed him, instead of a hatchet.
I think I dumped him on the ground and ran away.

I've gotten way more jump scares as a killer from, like, survivors dropping a surprise pallet on my head than I have from stuff like seeing a Myers standing right behind me. 😃

I HATE jumpscares. If I'm playing against a Hag and trigger a random trap, I get so flustered and I can barely figure out where I need to go afterwards. Same can be said for Prayer Beads Spirit, she just appears next to you super loud and suddenly with no way to know beforehand.
Myers is less sudden and loud, same with Ghostface. They usually only jumpscare me if I run into them myself while they're stealthed.

Frustration isn't helped when you set off a hag trap and the game hi-jacks your camera to force you to look at the phantasm.

Really hope there is a killer with a mori that gives jumpscares! Though my legs always fall asleep whenever I get super focused in the game XD

This is so accurate, I still remember exactly where this first happened to me when I first played killer over a year ago (killer shack on MacMillan estate coal tower) I was just laughing for a while after, first few matches as the "scary" killer and I'm the one getting jumpscared. 😂
I've also found if I take a few months break and get a little rusty suddenly even hag traps can make me jump again if they're unexpected and 4 go off at once.

I've done this one as a tier 3 Mikey... I just walked past a locker near the basement stairs to go to the window and leave and a dwight jumped out in my face so I flailed and stabbed him...then just stared at him for a while while realising what just happened...I love the fact I'm more jumpscared by random survivors as a killer than by killers as a survivor...
