Congratulations to all of the contest winners! All of you really deserved it! And thank you to the developers for having fun contests like this.
I was a finalist in the art contest and came up short. I was hoping for a runner up spot since there was so many fantastic entries! But just being a finalist was great! I didn't have much time to finish my entry so I was just glad I got something done. Next time I hope to be better prepared and Ill be coming for one of those runner up spots!
But really, the winner's entry should be a poster. That one is impressive!

Even making it to the finalists was quite an accomplishment- there were so many amazing entries that didn't make it that far. Your entry was pretty great, I love the little details like the bird on the left.
Fingers crossed for next time, you've definitely got a shot.

Good question.
The other contests worked differently. We took all the entries, narrowed them down within the community team, then sent out a survey to the rest of the Dead by Daylight team for voting. For the runners-up, we could easily take the fourth, fifth, etc. place entries and give them some recognition.
With the design contest, things worked a little differently. For starters, there were almost 700 entries- and a lot of them were very good. Beyond that, there was no voting within the team, the choice was left up to the art director (since he needs to pick something that would fit with the theme of the game, and he needs to pick something that would be reasonably possible to create). Since there was no voting, there was no way to tell which ones would have been third, fourth, fifth, etc. In fact, the list of finalists was over 50. Picking a couple to call runners-up wouldn't exactly be fair with that in mind.
There's also some legal hurdles, since some regions could not participate due to local laws, and people under a certain age were also disqualified, so we couldn't call something a runner-up without verifying that they were eligible to begin with.

The sheer talent and hard work that everyone put into the contest was amazing, I am sure that the team had a hard time to pick winners.

Thank you! Yeah there was so many great entries! Its why Im not at all disappointed. Its so nice to have events like this to let people express their love for this game when a lot of the time things can be a bit divisive. One thing I think all can agree is that there is some wonderful artists in this community.

I wouldnt of wanted to of been in their shoes when they had to pick the winners! Pass them a thank you for their hard work if you can! The art design in this game is so inspiring as a wannabe artist myself. And I cant wait for the next contest!
