Am I missing something or what is the point of waking up?
Freddy can’t see you anymore.
Freddy can now hit you (and sleep you) when you’re awake.
There is no base game action speed slow down.
Is this basically a safeguard against a Freddy with add ons? Me and my friend are confused.

To not be affected by snares & fake pallets.

If you don't wake up he teleports quicker

1) His power is reduced by 15% in cooldown per asleep Survivor.
2) Just not to see his pallets and snares.
Freddy's Dream World? Kinda harmless.

If the teleport was faster, then I would admit that it would be pretty dangerous. Right now being sleep is less of a deal than being sick with The Plage's.....plague. at least she keeps you injured and stinky.

I only heal/cure in the fountains because the vomiting sound is not reduced by iron will :P

Folgers in your cup.

I also did find a lack of necessity for waking up but now I know why I should ! Also when you are awake are you not affected by his traps?

Yep. You are immune from both pallets and snares as long as you're awake.

@TeambossFloze When you're awake I believe you don't see the traps and you're not affected by them.

- His traps affect you while asleep. Even if they're just snares, not having to worry about them for the first hit in a chase helps.
- Waking up lets you see which pallets are real or fake.
- Each sleeping survivor decreases his projection cooldown.
- Depending on the add-ons used, his projection cooldown could be further reduced for each sleeping survivor, or action speed can be decreased for each sleeping survivor.
You can stay asleep if you want, but there's no point in not waking up if you can. Waking up does not make Freddy stronger and it only takes a few seconds.

If you are asleep you can also do some fake pallet cleaning - if the ones you are certain you or someone else threw are back, throw them again and get rid of them for someone else.

You have either to go to the other side of the map (where the clock always spawn), or fail a skillcheck. It costs you more than a few seconds.

Those block add-on are just very lazy. They need to be reworked

@TeambossFloze Cheers!

There's no point in Waking up . Instead of wasting time going across the map you'd better fix fast unless he has the Debuff add-ons GL

While I never encountered snares awake, I have definitely gotten hit by fake pallets repeatedly while awake.

Basically instead of making the survivor weaker like before, sleep makes Freddy stronger. So unless you want a Freddy who can teleport around often and end chases quickly it's best to be awake.

Another reason to wake up is to hear Terror Radius instead of the Lullaby, since TR tells you distance while the Lullaby does not.

That's why I said if you are certain. I suppose there is the risk of making noise and aura if he has that add-on, but if he's far away I would try to do another survivor a solid when I can before they stumble onto it.
I guess for this post I prefer being asleep when not in a chase to better keep tabs on the killer and what he is doing, but definitely better to be awake during a chase.

Waking up should make him a little more powerful though at least by the alarm clocks. Like speed up the gen teleport animation or something?

I don't think so. It's very confusing. I'm keeping an eye out for this in the future.
