Corrupt Intervention is better than Ruin for high ranks, change my mind...
Ruin gets broken before 2 minutes have passed in red ranks or survivors know how to land all the perfect skillchecks without sweating at all.
CI blocks 3 gens for 2 minutes (more than the time an experienced SWF lobby take to break Ruin) and leaves 4 gens next to each other (easy patrol) available for fixing
Combine with reading perks like Discordance and BBQ and you'll practically own the team, place traps or portals (Trapper, Freddy, Hag or Demogorgon) whyle patrolling.
Any thoughts? I repeat, this applies for high ranks only

Corrupt intervention is better than ruin in general, and amazing when using it with trapper as it actually does what Ruin can't
Allow him to place traps without hearing gens pop

For killers that need start up time to set up like Hag or Trapper etc. sure it's decent.
In general though for most killers it's pretty awful.
The reason is because any competent group of rank 1's will just wait out the timer without even going for the few gens available then that perk literally did absolutely nothing but just make the game start a couple minutes later essentially.

Just because they hide, doesnt mean I cant find them
8 -
If they aren't going for objectives and they aren't complete idiots, no, you generally won't.

It's an interesting contrast
The perk is amazing for Trap killers because it gives you so much time to prepare and set up a game plan. The amount of times I was able to set up good traps in the map because the 3 gens were blocked made Corrupt so worth it
But surprisingly it can be a bad perk for Stealth Killers, because as a stealth killer you generally want to find people quickly and gens are an obvious place. So for stealth you'll want to run Ruin more often than not
Either way Ruin is one of my favorite perks in the game and it has a ton of potential and use, People seriously underestimate how insanely strong having 3 gens blocked for 2 minutes can be

THANK YOU!

I typically bring a generalized tracking perk like whispers. After enough practice...I can pretty much pin point a survivor as soon as that thing lights up.

I'd say it totally depends. If they go 200% immersed, you can extend the game as much as you want, but you're not accomplishing anything until you have someone in chase.
Likewise, if you use Ruin, it has the potential to get cleansed instantly.
Both have situations where you get nothing out of them. Yes, there's a chance Ruin doesn't go down immediately. Yes, there's a chance you find someone while Corrupt Intervention is up anyway. But both have the potential to backfire.

Corrupt Intervention is overrated, they can just do the other 4 gens without any penalty and you might even help survivors to not 3 gen themselves by using it.
1 -
The penalty is that the 4 gens are easier to patrol as killer.... it wastes the survivors time finding another gen which moves them around the map which possibly can lead to the killer finding a survivor quicker....
3 -
Good dev, do you guys have any study on the average time in which Purple and Red ranks destroy Ruin in contrast with the average time in which a survivors gets downed by a killer using CI? That would be interensting to read.

@DudeDelicious Survivors all starting separately isn’t what you want though. They can pop gens super quickly especially without Ruin. You WANT them to start together, it’s not the optimal play.
1 -
Yep, I want them to start toghether, Discordance gives me the easy location and then I hurt everyone I can for them to waste time healing whyle I'm downing the last one who got hit

Hex perks, especially ruin, are unreliable. Main reason I don't use them. Sure the effects are powerful but you can't guarantee them every game. Overall, something like pgtw will probably win you more time if you can kick even a few generators during the match.
I haven't gotten surge on my other killers yet so I'm still on the fence on that.

I run whispers sooo
2 -
Hag (red rank)
-Thrill of the hunt
-Ruin
-Haunted ground
-Spies from the shadows
If they still manage to cleanse it, you're doing something wrong.

I don't see them as replacements for each other. They don't serve the same purpose. A killer might be better served by CI than Ruin, but that's because they can take advantage of the differing effect. Hag is better with CI because it typically makes people walk into the web and shrinks the map. Another killer like Ghostface or Myers makes better use of Ruin.

Nah, it's definitely better than Ruin. It allows to chase someone early and force people in an area where gens need to be worked on, or you can just set up. Idc, ruin rarely lasts even a minute and it's just so much better. I love the idea of Corrupt intervention, PGTW, Devour Hope/BBQ or even Enduring and Bamboozle on Demogorgon

With ruin and the Hag; it'll force them to enter my web and run away when I come to chase them. Triggering all traps in their path.
Rince, repeat.
P.S I don't want to kill them too quick anyways. I want those BP lol

Blendettes often call you a wall hacker for not being blind.😂

Whispers or play doctor.
There are ways to find immersed survivors early on easily like the two above.
Edit: Stealth killers are also really good at this.

Thanks!

Yes, but you can still only chase only 1 survivor at a time, while the others avoid a 3 gen situation because of your perk.

I preffer other gen block perks then ruin too, I kinda agree. But Pop goes the weasel is really underrated as well, just like Corrupt Intervention.

Whispers is awesome

I've yet to play anyone but Doctor during the Blood Hunt both because he's awesome for BP and because he's my only killer with Whispers at rank 3.
Hugely underrated perk, saves so much time.

Or you can run both?
Eh, it's a gamble if one works or the other. Ruin is at least a guarantee the game will slow down slightly if it's in a good spot or someone isn't using a map.
In my experience while I can find someone while Corrupt Intervention is up, I generally still lose one or two gens if the survivor is good at running, or I attempt to go for someone else because of that. As @edgarpoop says, they might not be replacements for the other, it depends who you are, and who you are facing against.
