Re: Addressing the Current Meta – Balancing Tunneling and Aura-Reading Power
You're either trolling or you want a game that gives you every single thing for free. The survivor equivalent of this would be hitting a skill check while in the killer's TR that removes a hook state.
Re: Addressing the Current Meta – Balancing Tunneling and Aura-Reading Power
I have as well. Aura is taking over the game. Sometimes I wish I had a Time Machine when there were little to no aura and you actually had to play the game not let the game show you where survivors are. Follow scratch marks, use your ears to hear footsteps or whining. Some aura is fine! But having 4 aura perks and an add on that show aura is kinda of ridiculous. I’d rather face a gen regression build killer than have my aura freely shown to the killer. I miss chases, those are impossible now with the anti looping killers they keep coming out with. Oh and pallets? What are those? Nerfed those too. Some rooms don’t even have a single pallet! We were told we were getting QOL changes but then it was just scrapped and haven’t heard anything else about it. Other than more nerfs that were coming to survivors. I don’t play comp and don’t tend to. Guess it’ll be another break for me. Not all of us play like comps. I guess they just don’t get it and probably never will
BHVR, Please Show your Killer some Love
Fun Facts about the Unknown
- Unknown has one of the longest cooldowns in the game, notably longer than Nurse, Blight and Ghoul AFTER they have expended all their tokens.
- Unknowns cooldown is 7 seconds, with a 1 second charge time. While survivors only have to stare at the Unknown for 10 seconds to remove their weakened. This means you have roughly a 2 second window in a lot of cases to lineup and fire a shot.
- Unknown is one of two killers with no addons to improve the lethality of his power (the other being the Xenomorph). No cooldown addons, no addons to improve the speed of the projectile, no addons to show auras, no addons to increase the time it takes to remove weakened, nothing...but you know what he does have?
- Two addons that give you small advantages if you hit them DIRECTLY with the UVX projectile. Funny enough, hitting them directly is arguably harder than hitting them with the explosion and does not apply weakened but you know what you do get? Two extra seconds of hinder on the survivor while your movement speed recovers from shooting, exhausting the survivor and another 7 second cooldown...thanks. Why do those exist?
- Unknown has one of, if not the slowest projectiles in the game, thus hitting long range shots can prove rather troublesome if the survivors see you for even a second. He also can't look down so running into the killer is the best strategy thus making him a mediocre short and middle range option as well.
- Unknowns power is infection based, much like Plague, Nemesis, Wesker, Singularity, Krasue and Vecna the Second First of his Name. With these killers you have to find an item on the map and use it to rid yourself of the infection, or interact with a world object (in Plague's case this powers her up). With Unknown...look at him. You don't even have to be in chase to rid yourself of this. This makes one of if not his best addon Captured by the Dark (applies weakened to all survivors) completely countered by survivors finding you at any point. And unless survivors are holding hands, you'll be lucky to get more than one injury if they spawn near enough to each other.
- Alternative ways to apply weakened? File not found, oh wait, Vanishing Box applies weakened to all survivors who complete a gen. However, it has been nerfed so many times it's an active detriment to use.
- Did I mention for some ungodly reason survivors get a 1.5 second buffer to staring the Unknown down. Which means the weakened will still dissipate for 1.5 seconds after losing line of sight.
Unknown is a really fun but eternally frustrating killer that needs a lot of love. Giving him a more forgiving cooldown would be a nice start however, more is needed. Alternative ways to apply weakened, an addon pass, some benefit to hitting a survivor directly with the UVX (and no, the "hinder" doesn't count), A FASTER PROJECTILE FOR THE LOVE OF THE ENTITY! A better system than looking at the killer to remove weakened because for all the work the Unknown puts in, having to just look at him to remove it is a buzzkill. Unknown should be able to look down, running directly at the killer should not be the best counterplay to a killer. And so much more
Re: Opinion: Worldbreaker Duration Didn't Need to be Extended (Paused During Pickups)
I wonder if too many Henrys were slugging? sounds like a very unneeded buff even if it were a fix. definitely should go back to the way it was.
Re: We need to have a Spider killer ASAP!
honestly idk if this is a hot take or not, but in a horror game where your darkest nightmares come true that you have to face, i think it'd be time to man up and face your phobia because all it is is just another killer design. im terrified of clowns and i absolutely HATE going against clown (not even just bc of bottles) but i know that him being in the game is for the best. his design is HELLA cool and so is his lore, so if there ever is a spider killer, i'd be so excited to see the design and lore the devs come up with.
Re: Slugging and tunneling
To add some more context for this:
- The longest survivor winstreak where the win condition was 3 escapes was 202 games. Even in that streak, each player died at least a couple dozen times. People love claiming "oh but there are 4 survivors so it's basically like an 808 escape streak" but since they still had a bunch of deaths it really isn't "basically an 808 escape streak"
- The longest escape streak for a single person was around 500, but that was in a much earlier version of the game (the person who did the streak stopped around 2020 iirc), but that was a streamer and was done in an SWF with the goal of getting that streamer out, even if the rest of the team die. They didn't intentionally lose games to get him hatch, he didn't play with rat strategies, but it's still a very different objective than getting 3+ people out
By contrast, one particular blight main has gotten a ~1950 win streak as blight twice. That's 3900 games with only 2 losses
Re: Who are the most iconic forum members on here?
It may be surprising to learn I used to have a Myers PFP.
And it may be equally as surprising that Steve is not my favorite Stranger Things character.

Re: Who are the most iconic forum members on here?
i watched stranger things for the first time when I saw Steve i had to remind myself that you aren't literally him
Re: Should the pregame lobby be removed?
I can get behind this. Tbh the only time i think seeing the lobby is a good idea is when I play survivor it allows me to see what items other survivors are running. If I see 2 other flashlights then I'm not bringing mine. I'll switch to medkit or toolbox
But that's a minor bonus. Tbh seeing the lobby is 99% of the time going to make the game worse. People lobby dodge, killers switch to lightborn if they see 2 or more torches, the stremsniping issue. It just turns the lobby into some kind of pre match mindgame and that isn't healthy. I remember back when you could see survivor's prestige levels prematch. And you basically guarenteed a bad game when you ran a p100 survivor. The only killers who wouldn't dodge were ones who were confident enough to take on a p100 and usually ended up winning
Re: Damn playing a low tier killer is Horrible right now.
On whom exactly? Cause you're getting steamrolled.
