Re: Pallet bashing simulator
Weekend influx? You mean people with jobs? Try one someday. And clearly it is an issue, a quick search of the forums reveals I'm not the only one. It's as tedious as you.
Re: MMR REWORK Questions and Opinions.
Solution: engage with the chat and lose. Crazy to ask for easy matches so you can give it half your attention AND win.
Was it ever explained why some maps appear much more often than the others?
I've seen multiple posts on Reddit having the same problem where a couple of maps appear VERY frequently.
I can confirm that I mostly play on Toba Landing, Nostromo, Hawkins, Midwich, The Game, Saloon, Badham and Lery's EVERY SINGLE DAY.
We have 19 realms and 43 maps in the game! Why do we have to play on the same maps every day? Sometimes it even takes me a couple of days to get one of the 4 maps from Withered Isle. If you want to boost certain maps, then please at least change the rotation every day or every week. It's been like that for a couple of months.
Re: Nerf Blight Again.
As of right now, Blight, Nurse, and Ghoul are genuinely so obnoxiously unhealthy for the game it's surreal. I'd say out of all of them, Ghoul is still the most egregious given his playstyle grants him a lot of pressure for little effort on his part (At the very least, a Blight requires practice and map learning). But even so, Blight has far too much oppressive utility with his minute Cooldowns combined with overwhelmingly beneficial addons that make an already powerful character more or less unstoppable. Then there's Nurse, who can be learned fairly easily once you figure out her ranges and start 360ing out of blink (A choice I am baffled by as a design) who literally forces Survivors to play in a way that is more less a test of attrition. A good nurse will get you and there's nothing you can do. She can move through walls, has a 2 second cooldown, and moves at Around 333% speed for a majority of the game. You're just done for. And god forbid she has Aura reading.
The problem is that people argue they need overpowered characters because of SWF, but in the end, this characters are still fundamentally flawed as they act as "Guaranteed 4K" characters which is not the intention of Dead By Daylight's design. The Game is not meant to guarantee a total victory again and again and again for 1000+ games in a row à la comp-heads winstreaking in public games. These characters NEED to be brought in line with other killers, and additionally SWFs DO need to also be balanced through means such as slower gen speeds per party member, perk limits etc. The game has reached a point where people are obsessed with a win condition involving total sublimation, and it's genuinely unhealthy.
Re: Giving up seems to be so common now, why?
When I play survivor, I’d rather have harder opponents if it also means better teammates, 100%. Going against bad killers is still miserable when teammates don’t know how to play or give up immediately the first time they get downed. This is all about the incentive to try to play well so you’ll be paired with better teammates in the next match.
I don’t buy the “false positives” arguments. Good survivors that can take killers on long chases will still get scored better for playing well even if they get eliminated early. That’s the whole point of the system I’m proposing. Getting tunneled out early wouldn’t be nearly as discouraging if you still get rewarded for playing well.
Re: Giving up seems to be so common now, why?
i have to disagree with the comment of its either something you do its not….as killer i never DC because its not worth the penalty. Would i DC penalty free if i could? absolutely i would. Its not just something you do or you dont, its about opportunity.
The lack of DC penalty about 8 months ago was not that well known, might have been known on the forums but this is a small percentage of people considering the player base. Many heard about it like a rumour but was never 100% sure. I would be up for giving it a trial, maybe a month of free DC's for all, let it known in the patch notes and highlighted so EVERYONE knows and see the amount of people that DC over a month.
Re: Damn playing a low tier killer is Horrible right now.
If you don't solo queue you are lacking skills a good solo will have and are therefore underestimating them and the entire baseline for your beliefs about gen speeds.
I think this is a good point. There seems to be a frequent confusion between good players and players in a SWF. SWFs can be good, they can be bad, that's a different thing.
But if we limited the discussion to just really good players, would they be better in a SWF? Sure, though how much would be an open question. Would gen perks be improved compared to other elements? That seems like one of the least significant changes.
Re: What is fairness in Dead By Daylight?
@jesterkind already covered this basically - but there are plenty of things killer's have called unfair. Perks, to map design, to items, to even the existence of SWFs, to how the abandon system is set up, and which questions BHVR asks about in their surveys.
Re: What is fairness in Dead By Daylight?
It'll mean something different to whoever's speaking at the time, I'd say.
I mean, if you ask someone with a heavy killer bias, they'll say the opposite of what you're laying out in this post, it'd only be people with a heavy survivor bias who'd hold the opinions you're referring to here.
Personally, I'd say "fair" should revolve around everyone having a chance to engage with the game on roughly equal footing. Obviously it's an asymm so that's a subjective target, but outliers like tunnelling and real genrushing builds are pretty obviously unfair by that definition.
