Re: The actual issue with tunneling, is not tunneling. Its the definition of it is viewed differently
And this is a good example of what NOT tunneling is and why people just attribute it to whatever they want for justification for whatever narrative they want to push.
The term tunneling is derived from tunnel vision; a figurative term describing when you focus excessively on a single individual, neglecting others.
Actual tunneling is focussing solely on one person. Your example is just a showcase of killer objective efficiency where it would be less effective to go after the uninjured survivor who isn't closer to death. Spreading hooks between two people isnt tunneling no matter what you want to think.
Re: So... when is the anti-tunnel and anti-slug measures BHVR promised is coming in...?
Big emphasis on the word intentionally. I've had people leave me bleeding at their feet for the full four minutes just to grief. That needs to end.
I've also lost track of people. I've had a few that have bled out because of it and I've felt bad. I would have given them hatch if I could have found them becuae that was my screw up. I'd prefer them to be able to stand back up and reengage.
Re: Please don't bring back this event ever again
I will have to agree on this. It has been awful for the survivor side, and it hasn't really been great for killer either.
You'd either had to bang out the gens, or have pretty much zero chances if you interacted with anything void-related as survivor, or risk losing a lot of valuable time as killer if you went in there to grab the haunts.
I agree that the BP awards has been abysmal, much due to the fact that the event offerings are personal, and not stackable, and that the event BP doesn't factor in other offerings, like BPS and anniversary cakes, like it used to in the past.
The only fun thing I have had with the event is playing Scratched Mirror Myers. The haunts makes it a lot more fun, and you have a sort of natural slowdown with that playstyle, since the survivors will likely be on edge.
Re: BHVR please killswitch ghoul...
Okay I can understand not liking him but uh "obligated kill switch isnt a fix type message here."
Also realistically speaking. If they do straight up killswitch ghoul more narratives of "survivor sided" would grow.
TLDR: Tweaks would be preferable to killswitching for all sides.
Re: Abandon and stats
When asked regarding the stats website being incorrect, this is was the response. If they are not tracked on the stats website with the reasoning being they do not affect MMR then does that mean abandoning does not affect MMR (remains neutral), or does it go down? I think this needs to be clarified.
Re: Would any of you be against the removal of the down voting system?
I don't think downvotes are a feature worth keeping. One need only look at reddit to see that downvoting is never used in the way it's intended to be used, but almost always used as a "I disagree" button or a "I don't like this post" button.
Downvotes create echo chambers, and make it much harder to gather feedback. If you say something unpopular, you're getting downvoted for it even if it is true. If you say something even remotely controversial, you're getting downvoted for it. You ask for advice, you're getting downvoted.
The way I see it, if you disagree with a take then you should either engage in discussion about it, or ignore it and move on. Why have a forum in the first place if it's just going to be a glorified polling booth?
Re: Everything is the Killer’s fault apparently.
I was being a little cheeky in my response, but broadly yes, I agree.
The issue is really that the game wasn't thought out with this level of longevity or meta progression. Not a knock on BHVR, nobody knew what they had with DBD.
They REALLY need a DBD 2.0 if not a DBD 2, where it's just a total rebuild from the ground up. As it is now, its clear they don't know how or cant implement the systems required to REALLY advance the game. Balancing for so many different Killers invidually is a nightmare, and it's only getting worse at their current speed.
Re: Involuntary DC should not be punished
I believe they said the issue becomes how open to abuse it could be. They cannot differentiate between the server failing, someone lagging out, or a player pulling a cord. So it treats it all the same and applies the penalty accordingly.
Re: Abandon and stats
Isn't this doing the exact opposite of that though? I don't think many survivors abandon when they're winning, so by throwing out abandoned games on the tracker, it would display a higher escape rate than what has actually been the case.
