Re: Fast Track and perk activation requirements
I know I'm repeating myself here, but it's not JUST the activation requirement they're talking about here. It's the activation requirement FOR THAT EFFECT.
We probably both feel like we're repeating ourselves, but here goes.
Yes, for that effect, but they didn't modify the effect. Old, old Fast Track at 1% per token was too weak, let's presume BHVR thinks old Fast Track at 2% permanent per token was too strong, well then they should test out a middle ground. But they didn't change the 'effect', they changed the activation.
There are not just similar perks on the killer side, there are similar survivor perks too.
I don't think anyone disagrees with that, it's just the way the discussions have gone that tend to turn this into a 'this would never exist on the killer side' that leads to a focus on the killer perks. Yes, its a pretty normal game element.
Other perks that give permanent progress require more, and other perks that require just the opponent playing the game give less, or at least less direct benefits.
That's why it wasn't just nerfed. They're talking about the effect and activation combined.
I don't think that follows. One of the easy ways they could have nerfed it was by removing the permanent effect. Its not like there was a rule that the perk had to be permanent progress.
There are other ways that the perk could have been nerfed to make the reward more commiserate for what the survivors were doing, but they went in a different direction. Which again, by itself wouldn't really be an issue, except how they've phrased things here and before really seems like they are knee jerk responding instead of making an informed decision.
Re: Balance options to the most problematic perks
That you really haven't explained why they are problematic?
Re: Reverse Tunneling
It depends on the context.
I recently played a SWF with a friend who’s a Mikaela main. The killer refused to even injure her the entire match as the killer had a Mikeala charm on the hook. She played quite sweaty with the other 3 of us and even tunnelled a Dwight out early game. My friend thought it was lame as she just wanted to play normally.
I once had a game against a Ghostface who had a pride charm on his hook. When he saw mine he was teabagging/nodding. He played normally, but gave me the hatch at the end.
The first example is favortism to the detriment of teammates, the second is just a wholesome moment between two players. When I play killer, I never deliberately avoid a survivor unless I know they’re insanely good loopers. When I do 4k, I always give last survivor hatch unless they’ve been toxic. That’s just a rule of thumb for me. The other exception may be if MMR screws someone over and I get a baby survivor in my lobby. In that context, I will play nice as it’s not fair that MMR puts these people in matches which they’ve lost before they’ve even loaded in.
So I guess (long answer short) a little favouritism/wholesome interactions are okay. Outright keeping one survivor alive just to tunnel/kill the rest out isn’t very sportsmanlike. I also hate it when a game turns friendly after you’ve died… you die with like 20k BP’s whilst your teammates get to farm. Not cool.
Re: 2v8 is not fun for killer anymore.
Yeah, I agree with everything you said. This class is very overpowered, just being able to deny a hit every 20s is very strong.
Re: 2v8 is not fun for killer anymore.
My only problem with 2v8 for the killer perspective is that Escapist is still overbuffed. There are A LOT of problems for killers in 2v8, but the only thing I want to see it properly balanced is Escapist and they can't even do that. Instead they nerf the killer classes and add maps like Lery's that nobody wants.
Escapist just ruins all killers from weak to strong. There's not a single killer who doesn't get completely screwed from being able to just deny the hit. All the effort that takes to catch a survivor offguard, or zoning them into a corner, completely denied with the press of a button, and its very often you'll see half the team running this class. Its even worse now that they just completely removed the display of survivor classes in the lobby screen, so you can't even make a mental note on who has Escapist or not when starting the chase.
Re: Does BHVR have any plans for Invocation or is the perk type dead?
The main problem is the absolute ass condition that you get Broken after completing it.
Not only does it fully drop the risk-reward ratio into the basement, especially with Taurie's perk, but it also functions as a neon "Tunnel ME" sign.
Nintendo Switch 2 is forgotten
This has been an issue since Dead By Daylight was released on Switch 1.
I understand that the game was very limited on the Switch 1 due of is specs.
But i can´t understand why the game on Switch 2 is abandoned by the company.
In Steam deck, which it has same specs, you can run the game in better graphics, in better frames and with keyboard and mouse.
Meanwhile in Switch 2, the game is the same port as Switch 1.
A lot of players are from Switch 2 as well, not as the amount on PS5 or Xbox, but a good amount we´re from there.
Surely if the developers give some love or a Switch 2 update, the players from the Nintendo console would dump into the game as well.
Play Survivor is terrible on loops, you can´t compete against players with better specs, and as Killer has no option.
You can´t see anything, everything is pixelated, and as a role where every detail is important, is horrorific.
I can´t really understand why the console can play Cyberpunk on good quality and frames, Resident Evil Requiem, Pragmata etc but runs poorly on a game that is 10 years old?
Give us some love too! Maybe not the Keyboard and mouuse, but at least, make the game run smoother and in better quality.
Showing some love, will attract new players to the platform, which means more money for you.
Re: Fast Track and perk activation requirements
At what point does it make sense to run a perk that has a 1/3 chance of being able to get 5% on a gen when you can just use a toolbox, prove, hyper focus/stakeout, deja vu etc and guarantee consistent value?
What's a license you'd like in DBD that isn't that commonly requested?
Everyone knows the variety of licenses people request for all the time, but what characters/properties do you wish were in the game or feel would be a great fit that noone really talks about?
Re: What's a license you'd like in DBD that isn't that commonly requested?
Cyberpunk Edgerunners. Adam smasher as killer, Lucy and david as survivors. Neon city as map. I would pay $100 for this license.
