Re: A Match Details Sneak Peek Ahead of Tomorrow's Update
Is this majority in the room?
All I have read was that most people were saying that it should not reveal the Killer right away. Now it basically happens at the same time when a SWF would know who the Killer is.
And lets be real, most KIllers announce themselves pretty early, especially because almost all of them have a different Terror Radius nowadays.
Re: Rant: Myers is the most skillless and most unenjoyable killer to go against
Shape is a shell of his former self, the worst case scenario of a killer rework is character assasination. Sure he basically works the same with the stalking but when has he EVER dashed at someone faster than the average persons running speed with enough force to break a giant plank of wood? In the first movie Laurie ran from one house to another, fumbled at the doors and Michael still didnt catch her but yet that very same Michael is reworked to be super fast with his attacks for NO REASON other to make him another dash killer because everybody plays them when all he needed was BUFFS. The cherry on top is after nearly TEN YEARS when Freddy and Sadako are reworked multiple times the one time BHVR decides to do something major with Shape its pretty much at the last minute and a couple months later he and Laurie are gone from the game. What a disrespectful treatment of one of horrors most iconic slashers.
Re: I'm getting hatemail for games I don't even win
If the salt from this game could be collected it would be same amonth as its in oceans.
Just ignore them, the issue is that this game isnt any exception where threats are a thing or people sluring at you like try csgo or rainbow 6 and you will witness racial slurs on daily basis from other people.
This game only excels in salt even from whose which won.
Re: Hook states feel too short, and camping still isn’t meaningfully addressed.
As others have said, it’s not supposed to eliminate camping. It’s supposed to eliminate (and does eliminate” facecamping which is not the same thing. Camping has always been a valid strategy, but as others have also said it doesn’t work very well most of the time. If you’re getting camped, two or three other survivors can easily pound out gens uninterrupted. If they’re not doing this, that’s a problem with teammates and not understanding how to play the game and not using the UI information to know who is working on gens and who should be going for the save.
If this camping strategy was as oppressive you claim, there would be way more Bubba/Hillbilly players. But there’s a good reason do don’t see many of them. Bubba is super easy to loop (he’s actually probably my favorite killer to go against) and Hillbilly requires a lot of skill and practice to be good. Camping with Bubba or Hillbilly usually means 1K for the killer as long as the other survivors have even a little bit of game sense and are getting gens done.
Re: I'm getting hatemail for games I don't even win
Some people just cant be helped and you really only have 2 options: Ignore em, or have fun with em
I personally chose the latter :)
I'm getting hatemail for games I don't even win
I get 1 kill and I'm still apparently an awful terrible person who should quit the game because I try to win on mid-to-low tier Killers. What is happening? Am I just supposed to stand by the exit gate and kiss the Survivors on the forehead as they leave?
Re: Slugging Billy?
The issue is not "fictitious rules" it's about sportsmanship. Genuine human empathy.
Content creators, even ones i don't like (i won't name them) have tested this with polls and shown that people can't even agree on what the definition of tunneling even is.
Sure there's contextual tunneling by circumstance, and these definitions are not all encompassing (the issue with these polls), but ultimately they don't matter when people only mean the most obvious form of tunneling everyone can agree on: the killer immediately drops what they're doing in an attempt to rehook the most recently unhooked survivor.
In terms of "most players not playing to win" that again is a failure of the devs for not creating either a proper matchmaking system that can actually match players correctly, or by creating a ranked mode where the people who care about winning can play.
The devs can only do so much. People will always sweat in unranked modes and people will sometimes slack off in ranked modes.
Re: Slugging Billy?
For every other game you listed here, both sides are on paper even in power level. Football: 11 players on the field for both sides, both take turns with the ball. Chess: both sides have identical pieces. Call of duty: all items can be used by all players.
For DbD, this is not the case on purpose. This invalidates all your examples. Also, the amount of resources survivors have for self reliant anti-slug is miniscule: Conviction: requires a completed heal on another survivor, you will go down again anyway. Soul guard: requires a revealed hex, so you would have to play at a disadvantage for whatever the hex does. No mither: you are broken for the entirety of the trial. Boon: exponential: requires totem RNG, only within a certain radius, killer can take 1 second to snuff totem. Unbreakable: you can only use it once, then it's gone. The only one of those with zero strings attached is unbreakable aka the only reliable anti-slug comes down to one perk. Yes this is totally the equivalent of someone leaving their queen unguarded, yes indeed (sarcasm).
I think you're right about not blaming players for using strategies to win, but when it goes so far that a majority of these players aren't even doing it to win, they're doing it to make the other team miserable, at what point do we have an ethics, integrity, and sportsmanship problem?
Re: What is the pettiest reason you have for disliking a killer/survivor?
Survivor wise, Dwight. One of my first games end game was me and a Dwight. He left me on my FIRST hook and locker camped til I died. Spectate the end, he hunted the hatch. Thankfully Springtrap followed him after downing him, let him get so close to it, then shut it in his face and mori'd him. Spineless coward. (He also teabagged me earlier in game when I was down and took forever before actually healing me) so I just have a strong bitterness for that character.
Killer- Huntress. I keep getting matches where she stalls gameplay and downs almost everyone, won't actually hook anyone, then makes you go heal your teammates. Its gross, honestly. Like hate Huntress matches now because I never know if its a genuine match or someone just physcologically tormenting us and trying to hold the game in a state of limbo as long as possible.
Re: Rant: Myers is the most skillless and most unenjoyable killer to go against
He doesn‘t even have to earn his op dash, just looking at someone for 5 seconds is enough.
Looking a someone for 5 sec is something. Old Myers didn't have a dash, but he didn't need to charge up to down you either. You could down a whole team with normal M1 and bloodwipe cooldown.
Playing Myers, I'm contantly seeing survivors just stand there staring a me as though I'm ghostface. Feeding Myers seems to be a bigger issue than dealing with the power.
