Re: Should Dredge and Unknown be the next killers for 2v8?
The variety isnt going to get better if they add more killers.
This was clear the moment they expanded from 5 og killers to blight, spirit and slinger.
Now everyone is just playing oni, blight, wesker. Or maybe spirit and nurse.
Now they added 16 killers and its the same 3 killer, which wont improve unless everyone is s-tier or they force the variety on them by limiting killer options.
I can also say the same with survivor, but no one cares.
Time To Address Lobby Dodging/Shopping.
Even with the long que times for killer I am having lobbies where the killer is just leaving the lobby, sometimes multiple times.
This causes a few things to happen
- More time spent waiting in the lobby, I spend more times in the lobby itself then looking for a lobby sometimes. (my pb is around 30 mins waiting in the lobby as killer joins and leaves over and over)
- People hiding there profiles leading to more anon players and less of a community feeling in game due to amount of anon players. (I personally played on anon for around 2 years and don't fault anyone for using it while the killer can just browse our profiles)
- Lobbies getting backfilled causing matches to either feel too easy like you are stomping a new player or you are the one being stomped
Ways I would address this
Changes to killer viewing survivors
- Usernames are hidden until the trail starts but anon mode is removed so profiles have to be shown during match and end game
- Globes are not shown until trail starts
- Generic version of survivor are shown to killer to avoid people with rarer skins being dodged (eg meg boop snoot mask, pubg Dwight)
- Items will still be shown as they currently do
- Killer SHOULD be able to see who was in a lobby together during the end screen. (potentially during match in tab screen but I'm not 100% sure on that.)
In regards to a better community feeling I think global pre made messages should be added to starting lobby, that way both sides can send to each other regardless of platform, nothing to extreme just things like "Good luck!', maybe even stickers like a trapper holding a heart or something, positive messages for everyone in the lobby.
This isn't trying to target one side, survivors already have no information on other side so there was nothing to add too, I just want better matches and community for both sides.
Killers that could work 2v8 vs those who wouldn't
Killer abilities play a large role on whether or not that can be considered for 2v8.
From a coding perspective and a fairness standpoint some just can't or shouldn't.
Possible:
Houndmaster, Unknown, Knight, Artist, Trickster, Demidog, Clown, Bubba, Doctor, Hag
Not possible: Plague, Twins, Nightmare, Cenobite, Onryo, Skull merchant, Singularity, Alien, Vecna (v1 and v2), Springtrap, Ghoul, Krasue
Unclear: Dredge
Reasons:
Global effects.
Unfair advantage.
Licensing rights.
The possible category comes down to their powers. They don't require map coding to make them work.
The not possible category is due to map coding and licensing rights.
For example: Demodog would be super weak yet, it's power is not station dependent like the Alien, Onryo, Springtrap, Pig.
Any killer that requires "stations" simply won't work.
Krasue would just be a worse legion and plague is out for the same reason. It's oppressive.
Dredge is unclear cuz, would it's nightfall ability affect/hinder the other killer?
(I guess Twins is possible, I just can't stand that killer)

I find them right at the beginning of the match, but it's prohibitively difficult to A) remember where they are, and B) run all the way over to where that was. They're never around when I can actually use one (since you can't pick them up and save them).
I don't know if my teammates are just using them up, but I've literally never used a single one.

Exactly. This explains why I find the argument of "tunneling" vague, as there are far better tunnelers out there.

From time to time I try to bring this topic to the light.
I think the biggest problem is that the actual number of gens is tracked and not the progress.
What do I mean?
Well if you play in an orginized group of Survivors over Discord or something like that it is highly possible to just not finish your gen as long as it is not in danger. So you got a 99% gen and all the others which are at another progression level still archive the bonus repair speed while in Soloque when the gen would have poped the extra gen speed would have vanished.

Well I am afraid that this isn´t a bug my dear friend. It works as intended.
As long as a certain amount of gens is up the game doesn´t differ the bonus gen repair speed it doesn´t matter if the remaining gens are at 0 or 99%.
So it gets… abused?

I swear on Survivor and Killer experience I see the Gens flying like there birds eating seeds off the ground.
How is the Killers supposed to Keep up with this like maybe experienced killers may keep up but how about the newer or the not so skill killer players.
So has anyone else noticed where Gens are basically done as the match literally started
So when is the Ghostface buff?
With the new Sceam trailer and of course very anticipated release of said movie, people are obviously going to want to play Ghostface. They'll want to play the only game where they can play as Ghosface.
Small problem. He is one of the weakest killers in the game and the latest Myers rework completely overshadows anything Ghostface can do. The pallet density has made him even worse since he's just an M1 killer with no real chase ability. It would be the worst decision to do nothing and an even worse decision to just throw a few buffs at him as if he's not fundamentally incapable of winning against good survivors.
