Re: The hard truth: why killer mains think Dbd is survivor sided even though it isn't
- Kill rate for high mmr killers goes up not down. Not much up but still up. So does escape rate for high mmr survivors, from 41% - 42%.
Looking at the bigger picture, there was an average kill rate of 60% across all MMR, while that average kill rate increased to 63% for high MMR. This largely falls in line with our intended Killer balance.
That's from the January - March stats. Would love more recent and more detailed but this is what we have sadly. The Japan stats don't break anything out by mmr.
High mmr four mans in those stats have an escape rate of 48%. They either get a draw nearly every match and lose a couple or they lose as many matches as they win with some number of draws. Would I love to see this better broken down than just "high mmr," absolutely, but given how loose matchmaking it probably wouldn't matter.
High mmr killers and high mmr survivors also face off against those outside that bracket, its the only way for both KR and ER to go up. That means that killers at high mmr do not face off against swf team six every match. Even if they do, we have stats showing that those teams lose at least as often as they win. If someone loses every match to these teams then they are not as skilled as they think they are. This is all without looking at the proportion of actual high mmr vs high mmr four man matchups which is probably less than cross matchups just based on population of high mmr players and loose matchmaking.
Which killer you play matters of course, but there are also players that win nearly every match they play on almost every killer. LOL on tunneling, in one post people say that tunneling only works on low mmr survivors and then in another people claim high mmr killers use it to gain an upper hand against high mmr survivors, it can't be both.
2. I am not saying its impossible, just unlikely. I have done it before as well but more often than not the result is everyone going down again. In case I wasn't clear I would be perfectly fine with an abandon option for killers if all survivors are in/near an exit gate, I just want all abandons to be tracked correctly for both stats and MMR but I don't believe they are right now. Adding another scenario seems like a bad idea given how they appear to be treated at the moment. (I think the slugged multiple times one should be removed as well)
Re: just got krasue
Yeah but it was just tunneling feature when survivors did not lose it on hooking.
Re: Just done
Would you rather the S tiers be brought low to match the low tier killers? Have the two meet in the middle? Or bring the low tiers up to A/S?
There are many ways to tackle this. But do they all work? Probably not. Will BHVR's eventual option work? Probably not. Should they stop trying? Definitely not.
but when these killers start going against swf with comms they cant keep up, they certainly dont delete decent teams consistantly. Thats why so many people have a lot of blight matches, ghoul, wesker, nurse.
This is why tunneling and such needs to be discouraged. People are skipping everything to jump to the front of the line in mmr, and complain when they get stomped.
Comm SWF is the END GAME for killers. Once you stomp solo'Q pubs, duos or even trios, they are nothing compared to a 4 man tightly knit team. THAT is the end game grind. Baffles me killers can't see this, and instead wish to complain instead. If you -did- get comms axed, do you see competition for the top killers? I don't. The complaints will roll over to 'killer is boring.' Ridiculous.
In that same vein, Survivors need to get their things straight too. Gens are one of the most boring aspects of the game, yet they are indeed too fast. If a team focuses gens only, the killer has limited options, then tunneling isn't even an attractive option in this scenario imo, especially if they're a good team.
BHVR has made this mess. The players are the ones who suffer and blame one another. Its increasingly getting more gross how humans treat one another behind a screen.
But hey, DBD be DBD.
Re: DC penalty removal
Just no. Every time the DC penalty has been temporarily disabled in the past, the game has become literally unplayable for everyone. Every match had players DC-ing for the most minimal reasons.
If you’re having issues with your network, take care of that problem before playing PvP games. Individual network issues are no reason to ruin the game for thousands of other players.
Re: Just done
the game feels like its basically been balanced by a low skilled killer main
- killer friendly pallets/loops, remove god pallets, remove filler pallets, shorten or break most of the loops in the game, make sure loops can't be chained together
- removed the only 2 good addons survivors had; there's literally no point in farming anything in the survivor bloodweb anymore
- completely dumpstered fog vial after its introduction; now it just clogs an already weakened bloodweb and chests
- completely abandoned any form of anti-slug update but actually nerfed tenacity while the update ongoing
- dragged their feet for over a year promising an anti-tunnel update but ended up doing the absolute bare minimum; also nerfed the anti-tunnel perk OTR while the update was ongoing
- continue to ignore the oppressiveness of blight, nurse and ghoul
- continue to ignore the horrible match-making that makes solo queue hell
Re: Who do you consider to be the 3 weakest killers currently?
Trapper, Ghostface and Skull merchant
Re: 5 Tips to help Cure Killer Anxiety
BBQ is still my most run killer perk even after all these years. Shows how much I went for those stacks back then, sometimes even throwing to get them. Need ma stonks!
Re: What would be you're ideal year of DBD?
My idea year would be closing the game for 3 - 6 months to rework it from the ground up. Iron out all of the bugs, change how gens and hooks work, give players more autonomy across the board, beef up communication, etc. Essentially make year 10 the true year of health.
I'd love to see additional features as well like the ability to recolor cosmetics via a color wheel, change lobby themes on the fly, share/recycle things from the bloodweb, so on and so forth.
Really give the game a chance to shine with all of the potential we've seen in it from day one.
But as we all know, that will never happen. It's the single most unrealistic thing to expect from the game (in my opinion).
Re: The hard truth: why killer mains think Dbd is survivor sided even though it isn't
It's the psychological aspect I've been trying to figure out as well. Bagging is almost always held in the same regard as mechanics that actively prevent players from even playing the game at all and at times treated as if it warrants more attention.
