Disconnects should be penalized
Hey guys,
I was thinking .. i play some games that have a system witch when you disconnect, the system will give you a timer of 5min to 10min before starting a new match. Now i really think this will discourage players from doing DC’s because it’s really out of control.
Finding a game as a survivor already requires a lot of time and killers who quits for whatever reason is just frustrating and it can happen multiple times in a row.
Survivors who DC’s in game and ruins all the other survivors experience as well is frustrating to.
Killers who DC’s because they went through a bad game and prevent all survivors from getting BP’s is just stupid.
Adding a timer for those players would be the best idea IMO, what do you guys think?

I saw similar ideas before, but I will tell you that it wont make any difference. The reason for it is quite simple: If they cant dc they will suicide on hook.
You cant punish dying on hook. I could argue that Dcing is a counter to slugging (slugging all 4 survivors) as well as slugging for the 4k which leave me bleeding on the ground for 4 minutes...

Can you have all 4 dying? I tried it to do the kill all survivors challenge and it kicked me out

I do agree with punishing disconnects, however what about disconnects where its the game crashing and not people "actively" removing themselves from the game? do you think you can differentiate between the two?

Well they would just have to wait that the timer expires... Im sure they would understand, just like in the other games i just mentioned

Then at least that will punish the other 2 situations that i just mentioned + the killer would actually get a part of the BP’s that he deserves

I agree DC'ing should be punished, but there's always the issue of peoples connection may have just dropped or the game crashed, and they are punished for nothing. Personally, I think a good idea for legit Dc'ing could be just to lock them out of earning BP for a set time. This way, they can still play, but get no rewards. It would still screw over the ones who DC'ed from connection lost or crashes, but it could be a better idea than to just lock people out of a match for a set time

When they fixed their Game then it should be punished.
But atm there is a Game Breaking Bug for me. It happens randomly and bring my PC to the "Lock" Mode while I'm in the Match. When I unlock it it kicks me out of the Match. A Gamebreaking Bug. Already wrote BHVR they cant help lul.
I think it's time to change the Platform for DbD.

I see. And why is that?
Why or when is one person to blame if the remaining players in a lobby are unable to adapt to the situation?

Because 3vs1 when there is no gens done is not fair ?

Because the goal is to start in a 4vs1 for a balance game. Its just not fun having to deal with one less player, means your team die faster + gens are down slower.

I'm with you on that one. If one is missing, the others must not afford any more bigger mistakes. This can be seen as a fun killer, or as a challenge or, and this is the most difficult way, a way for both sides to adapt to the new situation and play a little less tryhard. Finally, it's up to the remaining players what they do with the situation.

At least 1 disconnect should give the killer all of their add ons back, but not if they DC

I am really hoping for a timer here, i can see the success that it as in other games so i would not see why it would not work here.

Games too buggy with too many crashes and too many soft locks to realistically do that imo. Getting stuck in a tree, stuck in an animation, outside the map, ect. If they ever get their game stable (lmao) then sure.
Even then you would have to stop people from suicide. Then stop people from afk or letting themselves get caught. Then how would you tell if they are getting caught on purpose or just bad? If someone doesn't want to participate in the match they're not going to.

Maybe once the severs are actually useful.
