How do you feel about killers being punished for being too optimal?

Yeah, I already talked about noed. I'll just copy and paste.
(...)as far as I can tell judging by my own experience, genrush hardly ever happens at low ranks and noed is almost never used at high ranks. And because ds is also much more common at high ranks. You seem like an experienced player, so I think you know what I'm talking about, unless we've got completely different experiences with the game; like killers usually running noed at high ranks and survivors genrushing and ds being much more common at lower ranks.
(...)I'd swear noed is hardly ever used at high ranks and that genrush hardly ever happens at lower ranks and that the ones who are usually optimal at genrush are the red ranks.
I actually have another account I use to play with my low rank friends; they really can't hit hex skill checks and great skill checks, genrush is very uncommon when I play with them. I also tend to run across killers running noed more often when I play with them and tunneling seems to be more efficient when I play with my low rank friends, because for some reason lower ranks don't usually run ds or seem to struggle with the skillcheck.

Edit: About depips, I've heard that killers can also depip if they somehow manage to end the match too fast slugging everyone or something like that. I personally think something is not right with the current ranking system. Any thoughts on that?

Downing the unhooked Survivor for DS to work doesn't mean you're some godly player by any means. It just means you're playing in a generally viewed as scummy way that even the devs are trying to get Killers away from doing with little perks like Make Your Choice, Babysitter, and DS.

Right but what I'm saying is if you got hit by DS then you didn't play optimally. Rushing a DS kill means waiting for DS to end before picking them up. It know it seem counter-intuitive, but that is the play to make to optimize the speed at which you can kill. It's the same thing as a survivor waiting for a killer to be in TR range to make a BT save, or waiting to open a door to avoid Blood Warden, because NOT waiting will actually result in less optimal play. Timing is important, and sometimes you need to wait for the right time to do something. Optimal play isn't just doing things as fast as you can absolutely, it's doing this as fast as you can such that you maintain your advantage. They are two different things.
Like in car races, you could in theory go around every corner as fast as possible. But doing this might risk you crashing, so it would actually be more optimal to slow down on the turns to avoid crashing. Not the best example but you get the idea.
Now if you mean that killers get punished for completely outplaying survivors, because they don't get enough Chase/Malicious points to pip, yes I agree with that being dumb. If you totally stomp a group you should be rewarded for that and not need to be forced to play less optimally to get a pip. That's a bit upsetting to me, and I can feel the pain of every Billy main out there when they have to deal with this. So for this part, I agree it should be fixed somehow.

I know what you mean. But I am not talking about tunneling, I'm talking about being to efficient at finding survivors and ending chases, you don't need to tunnel anyone to get hit by a ds or come across someone who has ds active.

I think that's correct. The game is entirely designed around the idea of an entertaining game. Your job as both killer and survivor is to draw it out as long as possible to earn as many points as you can. That's how the game represents how "entertaining" you were.
That system also promotes more fun for everyone in the game and is a much healthier match with less toxicity.

I understand. I can only see high mobility killers such as nurse, wraith, spirit and billy to adjust better to the current ranking system, because they are very good to move across the map and apply pressure. Sadly that isn't the case for killers such as trapper, michael or clown, so the ranking system seems to benefit both killers and survivors in terms of rank and bp mostly when the killer is playing killers with high mobility.
To be honest I think I'd rather see the ranking system changed. From what I've read I understand that you can get a 4k at red ranks with trapper but still depip for not applying enough map pressure and having gens pop too fast. With that being said I'm starting to think that it would be healthy if the requierments to pip, safety pip or depip were different depending on which killer you are playing, because I understand how frustrating it can be to manage to get a 4k with low tier killers at red ranks and still depip.

You're confusing optimal performance with a system that rewards you for playing sub optimally.

The system is the game. You're ignoring the game's systems. The game's very design says you are incorrect.

And you're ignoring what playing efficiently means in lieu of playing inefficiently in order to put on a show for someone who doesn't exist.
The very definition of the words you used say you're incorrect.
