The Rift Will Cause a Player-base Wide Burnout

I'll be traveling for the holidays before Tome IV even releases. I most likely won't get to touch it before the Rift closes.
Great timetable, BHVR. Really takes people's lives and schedules into account. -_- Almost everyone is busy around the holidays.

I know, but i still have 2 levels to go for new killer.. so i might be accidentally AFK

"I had to go buy bread as soon as I got into a match"

Did not play on PTB.
I will say that I started Day 1 at Rank 13. Apparently the game was tracking your XP from a couple of weeks before the patch hit (I read something to that effect in the Patch Notes). I started a thread about it last week. Since I no life DBD I'm not surprised I got to level 13 just from XP alone.
It took me one day to get from Rank 13 to Rank 25, but finishing all Survivor tome tasks (did not do Killer).
But I stopped No-Lifing DBD after Day 1, patch is abhorrent, been playing other games in the meantime. I haven't touched DBD since Day 1 of the Rift.

AFK as killer is technically bannable but I doubt anyone reports it. Most survivors just take the free bloodpoints and go.

The whole rift is a joke but greed is all this company see's, on top of that putting the event currency behind a grindy unfun fking battle pass is disgusting, this is not even event, u dont earn anything from hooking on event hooks, or doing event gens there no point all u get is little more bloodpoint big fking woop it should of given u putrid serums if every event turns out like this well no one going to stick around

The only thing burning me out right now are dedicated servers. I've finished Tome 1 and now just play normally. The rift levels will come over time, there's no need to stress over it. Just play as you've always been.

I have friends who are currently on level 45.
They basically just set themselves a goal of two tiers per day
0 -
How do they do that? Two tiers for me is 10 to 12 hours.
1 -
They play 10-12 hours a day. :)
Easy!

That is genuinely surprising it takes me about 6 hours to get two tiers if even then.
Granted I've mostly play Killer so I'm normally in the match for The Long Haul.
So roughly about two matches per fragment not counting overdraft which does significantly lower the number.
From what I hear from my survivor main friends it's a little bit harder because if you get killed early it's more work you have to do.

I kept track of my time on Sunday. I earned two tiers on the Rift that day. The first one took me six hours. I played only killer and I got about 500 XP per match.
The second Rift tier took me four hours and fifteen minutes. It included the daily survivor and killer matches bonus XP. Other than that, it was all killer matches averaging around 550 XP per match.

Im doing the tome challenges and the rift because I want the serum for the Clown outfit.
I'm not sure I would be so interested otherwise.
I don't have much playing time so I cant just play normally to complete the challenges naturally. I have to force them so last night I was totem hunting and healing people with empathy. I freely admit I was detrimental to the team. This isn't a good feeling.
I want to play other games as well so whilst I am caning Dbd at the moment this will not be sustainable in the future and I wont be able to dedicate the time to the rift that it needs..

Burnout? You can complete 1st tome challenges in 2 evenings

It's way too early to ask for tweaks.
Yes, the Rift-Progress feels very slow when there are no challenges from a tome. Devs said that the Rift will be doable if you're a casual player with aorund 1h playtime per day.
If time shows, that the rift is not completeable for the majority of the playerbase, they will change XP gain. And who knows, maybe rift-fragment rewards are higher in the 2nd Level of the current tome.
We should chill, play games like we always did and see what the outcome is.

But how far up the rift does that get you?

Well, I'm currently on level 20, when the rift opened I was on level 7, and I don't play that much. It seems pretty good for me

The only thing I've been burning out on is Trapper when I play survivor. I see him almost every other game and it honestly gets boring to go against the same killer so often. I remember I went against him 5 times in a row a couple days after the update was released and I just stopped playing cause I was so bored. I was ready to accept going against any other killer, even Spirit...
I don't know if I'm the only one that gets bored if versing the same killer too often, but I fear that's the way it's gonna be now.

I honestly jumped ship to Starbound once I got the tome done.
I bought the Rift Pass and do I regret it? Not really. I still got lots of cosmetics and will get more when the next tome comes out. But whenever there aren't new challenges I am not playing anymore.

Nope, I just playlike I usually do and Im still leveling quite good.
Actually I hit rank 1 while completing challenges and Im around lvl 20 on bp without even completing some challenges and I didnt play much these days

I sat in my killer lobby just staring at all the unhappy killer faces staring back at me. Did that for 15 minutes and logged off. Just lost all interest.
It's not like the previous times, when I took a week or so off. Back then it was a forced break where I looked forward to my eventual return. Now, I just don't care to go through the motions or the grind. The Tomes have changed the feel of the game for me. It feels more like a gimmicky mobile game now.

I'm not interested in every single tier in the rift, my main aim is to get the Trapper Skin, which I believe is tier 40, and that's it. everything else is just gravy. Playing my usual playtime per week I have hit tier 20 out of 70 and Tome 2 isn't released yet, I think its fine.

what's this 11 day head start that i've never heard about?
0 -
Your progress was being tracked for the previous 11 days before the Rift opened and the XP was added to get you more shards.

Well 99% of survivor gameplay is genrush and run pallet to pallet.
Which of course, is a flaw in this games design, not survs faults.

Its pretty much how I feel. I don't have tons of time playing due to work.I'm lucky If I can play for a hour daily. Give or take with how bad lobby time can take. Then the grind makes it not worth it. Not to take up all my time just to do one challenge at a time. I wish if they was gonna copy the typical battle pass that they would a just had a list of challenges that u could just do naturally. But this whole grind one at a time stuffgets lame.
