What kind of penalty should we have to people who DC?
I’ve began to notice people who DC get off scot free most of the time , other than no points. I was playing billy for a challenge today and this guy ended DCing as I was going to kill him. Some context everytime I found him he would run towards a pallet, drop it, and run. I went around half the map doing this with him before he DCed. He also T bagged after every pallet drop. Here are his responses

I wouldn't bother interacting with DCers since it'll just end up with them trolling you in the DMs...
Their system already punishes people who do this in excess... doing it once won't get you banned or anything... if he does it every game than he'll eventually meet the criteria for a ban.
With Dedicated Servers, BHVR will be able to monitor DCing a lot better now... and Suicide by hooks as well... since it's basically the same thing in some regards.
If they wanted to add anything to this... they could idk... give a cool-down for each time you DC. The first has no cool-down, the 2nd gives 3 minutes before you can queue another match, than it gradually increases that time until you meet the criteria for a ban.

People who DC should derank, non depip.

It sounds fine except cooldowns must decrease over time if you don't DC. Otherwise everyone will end up with 7 days cooldown and queue times will be even worse than they are now.

Put them all in their own queue together and watch how they begin to realise how annoying DCs are when they can't play a proper game anymore because everyone constantly DCs.

Not that harsh, how about if they had to DC

I've never actually read/heard of anyone being punished for DCing.

I mean, I don't know anyone who wants to actively say they've been banned for DCing too many times...
Even if they do, they don't exactly talk about it anywhere since... why would you? It's not gonna do anything to help your case.

But like, I've never heard of any DC punishments.

A friend of mine got punished a while back for DC'ing from almost every match he played in order to derank. And by "punished" I mean banned for a week from playing. I made a post on the forums using it as a starting point for a discussion which was supposed to be about how flaws in the game design and ranking system encourage people to derank in the first place.
Personally, I believe that all disconnects should be punished, but only excessive disconnects should be punished with bans. If someone disconnects from a game, for whatever reason, they should have to wait X amount of time to rejoin the queue. X would increase exponentially with every disconnection within a certain period of time (24 hours, say). I also believe that people should be able to rejoin a game within 60 seconds if they disconnect due to internet problems (as opposed to using the "leave game" button), because sometimes disconnects can be caused by temporary latency spikes.

I think if somebody disconnect purposely, you should be rewarded bloodpoints, but in addition to that, the blood points should come out of that person's account. I know personally, it would be quite a deterrent for me to lose, I don't know... 2500 blood points for purposely disconnecting. Also agree with aggressive disconnectors, should be banned for x amount of time as well.

It is very simple.
You dc, you are not allowed to play for an hour ( first offense).
Everytime you do dc, this cooldown increases up until a week. It can not be reset.

That sounds good, but how would connection disconnects work? And I think the hour ban should be 2 DCs within a couple of hours of each other. Maybe one or 2?

In 2019 if you lose your connection and disconnects because of a crappy connection, you should not play online games. And if you lost your internet connection it is usualy for a long moment so you dont care if you get a penalty or not.
At some point where the internet is of good quality now, games should not consider the DCing as maybe he lost connection but always as a rage quit and apply penalties. I will be fine if i lost power and got a ban for 2h. If its happen more then once in a week, trust me that internet compagny will have a real problem with me.
Back on topic, Dcing should have ban penalty period. For example i have been waiting about 20min to get a game going becaues 2 killers DC when the game started and on the game that finaly started 2 guys rages quit which make it as a 2vs1, its ridiculous, there is no control on the Dcing at all, i just start playing this game 3 weeks ago, i LOVE but that DCing not control is killing me slowly....
I had 3 friends that start playing with me and they stop playing and move back to another Game because the waiting time is too long and there is always someone DCing.

The thing is, people who DC on purpose WILL find other ways if they get punished. They could just die on hook, which is even harder to track. I thought alot about this, and i'm sure BHVR aswell.
It's ridiculus on Xbox right now. When i play survivor it's more common that at least 1 player will DC then all 4 are playing till the end. But it wouldn't make a big difference if that person DCs or just goes afk / die on the hook quick.

Sorry but am I the only one think who DC should not get de-pip de-rank?
They should have raise up 5 rank to face deadlier Killers and get even more DC because they're not skilled enough, which will quickly to get them banned.
DC players get de-rank will ruin new comer experience.

I wish the devs would listen to you. Any time a dev comments on this issue they reiterate that all they are interested in is banning. DCers just need re-educating and time-outs will discourage casual DCs.
They will only ban excessive DCers but they are the minority so most of us will lever even notice the difference after the next ban-wave.

I agree, depipping is a reward not a punishment.

They should have a penalty in BP gain, and perhaps also be deranked ( although it would probably cause problems to newer players )

They should just derank and get a strike. Two strikes equals a ban for hours. Four equals week ban. Six equals month ban and eight should be a permanent ban.

I usually have pretty good / steady connection but there's been times my internet had a hiccup or the router got accidentally disconnected that I've disconnected from games, it would be super unfair to be punished for that. And it can happen to you, if it did im sure you would complain about it.
A ban for multiple offenses is fine. But deranking them for doing it would be rewarding them since some disconnect to derank

It should be like csgos system for dcing
DC= 1 Hour Ban
2 DC= 24 Hour ban
3 DC= 3 Day ban
and 4 DC= Week ban
After that you can do a year or permanent
