Sacrificing 13 survivors
Why are moris not counting towards this challenge but my own death?

What Aven said, a killing a Survivor through mori'ing them with Devour Hope, an Ebony/Ivory/Cypress mori, or Spirits perk "Rancor" is not classified as a Sacrifice... it's classified as killing them.
You can only gain points towards this challenge by sacrificing Survivors on the hook, and ONLY on the hook. The EGC sacrifice doesn't count... trust me... I thought it would when someone died to it in-game during the challenge and it didn't count either.
Unless you sacrifice them by normally hooking them into the 3rd hook state... than nothing else you do will count towards it. If the challenge said "Kill 13 Survivors by any means" than that means you could mori them and it would count... but it doesn't say that, its asking you to sacrifice 13 Survivors.

I guess self sacrifice counts as... a sacrifice? But a EGC sacrifice does not.

Not only your own sacrifice counts, but for all 3 survivors too. You can play Survivor and if you and your 3 little buddies get sacrificed too, it will counts towards this mission. So its bugged, since you were the one that should be sacrificing survivors playing as Killer.

Because killing a Survivor does not mean that you sacrifice them.
