What is the point of playing Solo survivor anymore?

From my experience the only survs that dc are those who cannot accept losing and generally are toxic, nobody I know who is a fair player would dc just out of a bad experience, they will just take it and move on.

It's true some killers are just frustrating, but changes are on the way and it's gonna be more bearable for the survivor experience.

It's interesting to read your post because of the separation you created... it literally highlights the bias I mentioned.

    1) All survivors who d/c are toxic and don't like to lose?

    2) All survivors who are 'fair' will play the whole game no matter what?

Some killers are 'frustrating' but changes coming: I'm trying to be polite but your points are very generic and over simplified arguments that clearly comes from a killer bias. There is no perspective as far as perks/plays or gameplay styles that contribute to this. The killer is a passive player in this? ofc not. Look I don't want to dunk on your points too much. But honestly it reads like someone who sees the narrative being formed on the forums and so follows it.

The only thing I really have to say is that if you automatically assume that your an independent agent of change I 100% guarantee you, you're not.

I believe the reason why they nerfed balanced landing this way is because it could allow survivors to run certain vertical loops three times in a row without any counterplay for the killer, which wouldn't be possible without balanced landing, which makes these said loops hard to balance. THey are either very bad without balanced landing, or too good with balanced landing. Running around a loop three times until the entity blocks it is no fun at all for killer.

However, with all the complaints I am seeing on this forum, I am positive they'll revert the changes to balanced landing. I personally think balanced landing is fine the way it has been before this nerf. They just need to be a bit more careful when designing loops that have survivors fall down to the ground.

I'm sorry, bias? Trying not to create some bad vibes here but I believe you're being pretty rude with your response out of nowhere, I call out on survivors who DC right after being downed and generally have bad manners, you're just seeing what you want to see. Survivors could also DC due to some IRL emergency.

And I've seen a plentiful of players take the whole match no matter how badly it goes.

So calm down, you don't need to go haywire on whatever points I make if they're not to your liking.

I am so over this community. Every tweak equates to a perk is now "destroyed." Every reaction to anything is so f'ing over-the-top and extreme.

How many matches has OP played using this perk in its new state? Have they even tried to figure out how to adapt? Why does no one feel they should have to adapt? This game has been and will continuously be tweaked and changed. If you ask me the fact that you must continuously adapt keeps this game from getting boring. I'm so over the constant crying about changes.

I watch them, that's actually one of the issues with Balanced Landing is that it is indeed bugged. The devs have been trying to fix it for well over a year by guessing, the new physics engine didn't fix it so they just remove the problematic part of the perk to make it fair. I've done crazier stuff with it than most youtubers and really abused that perk.

I don't really see the issue.

Yeah you get potato teammates quite often but that doesn't stop me from surviving and pipping in the vast majority of my games still.

You don't have to test the new version really. It was like this before it got buffed in the 2.0.0 patch except the new buff where you make no sound while falling. It was a seldom used perk before that buff (and with good reason) so it's probably going to be like that once again.

Let's be honest, opening up more near infinite loops was pretty op on some maps.

Also, I enjoy solo survivor. I ran spine chill + alert and any two other pets I want and I do fine.

Nobody had to play original MoM to see it was busted. You don't always need to play a change to see the likely outcome. Granted people can be wrong. But BL is pretty much dead.

On no balanced is ruin time to quit the game instead of using a different perk. Harumph :/

I'm a main solo survivor who noticed BL is overrated on green ranks. It got nerfed, get over it and move on.

I play solo survivor more often than SWF. I sometimes play SWF with a friend and accept I will probably have a dreadful match and depip but if I had made the promise then I will do it.

In fact one reason I give to the person I play most with in SWF is that they ALWAYS pip up when I play, because I am playing against a killer 5-6 ranks higher than me which means I get stomped a lot, but... I take a positive that it teaches me to get better.

I enjoy solo survivor. To me it's just more fun not knowing who you are foing into a match with, and then making decisions based on what you see happening around you.

Do you sometimes have to carry people? Sure. Sometimes I'm the one getting carried as well.

Solo survivor is still fun to me. Some matches suck, others are awesome.

Maybe it's the whole "surviving with strangers" thing, I dunno.

Well I prefer to not have to depend on my friends being online, if they even play DbD, if they don't wanna play Killer, if they don't wanna play solo themselves, if their party isn't already full, etc.

Anyway, it's not like SWF are immune to this Balanced Landing change.

    +1 no point play solo.

Just play killer dude. I dunno killer main always grieving when they are already too strong the result very useful survivor perk get reworked. ( useful for who play solo)

I am also the one who play solo ( either survivor and also killer) also people my friend already super rarely play game. ( cuz work thing). The worse things is that BL change will cause impact also in my solo game.

I dunno this BE devs love people play team which solo play is the best. I already give my love letter to support center and zendesk for solo playing, but not good feedback I hope for ( until now)

I didn't know there was a point in playing this game at all other than to have fun?

I do like you mentioning me being 'haywire' because from my perspective you were offering a generic biased response.

Ultimately I wanted to hit certain points which I did and your response was 'some people don't'. Well if those people are happy being tunneled off the hook and ending the game with 3k or less that's their prerogative. Each to there own.

BL is just being brought in line with other exhaustion perks, calm down. It was the only one to still give a benifit while exhausted, and allowed infinite loops on some maps. Its still a fine perk.

”What is the point of playing solo survivor anymore?”

answer: To improve your skills and make you a better player at the game rather then relying on a team to do everything for you. That’s why I solo 99/100 games, way more satisfying.

Well, might I ask for some solutions that come from the top of your head for this matter? Cause from what I see your comments aren't exactly any better than what I say. I'm not trying to take some sides here, just trying to be objective on both while you only talk about everything being killer centric even though the game was highly favoured towards survivors from the very start.

Right now we are sitting at a better spot where I would say survivors are seeing a lot of changes that might seem detrimental (and they are) so it's harder to play that side, but it's gonna pay off eventually with the recent nerfs coming the killer way.

But then again, if you're gonna call out some "killer main bias" where there is none, I believe there's just no point in discussing with you at all, I will just cut it short here.

    It's funny.

I play only solo, and I barely ever used Balanced , and it was long ago too.

OP makes it sound like I should quit DbD now or something lol

Funny thing is I don't feel like I want to.

    Hmmmmm 🤔

To be fair, balanced went from arguably the best exhaustion perk to the worst (considering you can't even use it on every map like other exhaustion perks).

They really should have just taken the speed boost away and left the reduced stagger imo (obviously it would have been best if they just fixed the maps lol), because now if you fall from a height while exhausted it's a pretty much guaranteed hit for the killer no matter what.

At least with the stagger reduction, whilst you will probably take a hit, there is a chance you may not.

im a rank 1 surv and im a decent player.

did you ever played against a solid killer with 3 potatoes in your team? after this comment i guess not.

so... it still gives a benefit "no sound" why you not complaining about that?

    right fun..

i dont think anyone have fun when decent perks get nerfed all the time.

whats the main issue, swf or decent perks? people just dont get it, its not only about BL.

Survivors got in the past a lot of nerfs, a lot of nerfs were necesarry but if you keep nerfing survivors just one side will suffer and that is the solo survivors.

I've been playing Solo survivor ever since I started playing this game back in January. So what nerfs were that made this game unfun? Insta heal? Oh no, I can't sympathize I barely used it and the change was for the better.

Yes you're crying over some an overpowered perk with the excuse that apparently only SWF knows how to demonstrate how absurd this perk is, Innocent solo survivors can't do no harm and please excuse this overpowered perk because we're only Solo queue.

You would have a better argument if the Nerf was excessive which it is.

you can counter BBQ, unlike balanced. also BBQ doesn't create heavy imbalance that is infinites on Haddonfield and other places like that just because of the perk. don't compare 2 totally different things. they either change balanced landing to address the infinites it created OR change all the loops/maps that balanced landing broke and never make loops like that again for future map creation. they chose the easier choice
