Honestly if they lightened the sounded of his footsteps just a little I think he would be a little better.

Why
he's gucci
7 -
he ######### sucks dude
7 -
Not at all, he's dope.
6 -
+1 too loud. Because of this, I dont want to play him.
9 -
My only problem with Demogorgan is that using Shred over a basic attack is 9 times out of 10 not worth it.
10 -
Yup. High risk for low reward.
9 -
It gets me hits because I mindgame with it, but I rarely actually land hits with it. It's also good for breaking pallets. But attempting a Shred and missing is insanely punishing vs the benefit of landing it.

Demogorgon has issues. Whenever I play him, if I start to struggle I don't know how to come back. Its so puzzling because on paper, Demo has everything a killer wish he had. Map pressure via his portals and a tool to help him deal with chases.
I think shred is fine. Its not easy to land, its not always the best option, but when used at the right time it can catch a survivor at a window or quickly deal with pallets.
The problem is the portals. They take time to setup and are nowhere near as convenient as Freddy's generator teleport. Plus survivors can remove them and they don't really hinder them in any way if they chose to ignore them. Active portals also emit an ambient noise within 8 meters, but their default detection range for Killer Instinct is 4 meters and they only inflict oblivious to survivor is they stand within touch distance. They are too easy to spot and completly harmless.
Also worth mentionning is that a lot of the Demogorgon's add-ons are absolutly terrible. All they do is some very very small numerical changes that don't matter most of the time.
To me the portals mechanics need to be tweaked and his add-on looked at.
6 -
the truth
6 -
He's a worse Freddy.
1 -
I personally don't think any of his problems lay with his portals.
The issue is his Shred imo. Rather than making the hits stronger I just think it needs to be made more usable and less risky. By this I mean give some flick to his Shred like how Billy can flick his saw a little in a different direction. This will give it a little more reliability in landing as I think it's just currently too easy to dodge. I also think the recovery needs to be lessened to not be as punishing. It isn't a 1 shot like a Billy saw so I think it can stand to be a little more reliable.

I cant tell if you're being sarcastic or not

YOU DON'T LIKE THE T-REX?

I've barley touched any other killer sense the initial release so here's my personal take on it. No, the Demogorgon does not need to be buffed because once you learn good spots to place your portals at, the heartbeat range and the pounce range your ret-2-go. That said, I would like one or two more tweaks.
First, as already stated, the footsteps, please lower them, even just a tiny bit, Mr. Stompy could definitely use it. Second is the portals, I still personally think they should be quicker to place, have slightly faster base travel time and ever so slightly increase the seal time. Oh, also, a peeve of mine is showing the aura of a portal being sealed but I'm kinda give or take on that. Like I originally said though, I personally think, once some time is sunk in, it's a very good killer.
2 -
They just need to lower his footstep audio range and fix the shred bug....maybe address the shoulders locking him out of certain loops entirely.
That's about it, just QOL stuff because otherwise he is fairly balanced.
0 -
Sarcastic for what??? Only sound?
Many players said he is very strong including me.
Only that noise, I feel uncomfortable to play him.
2 -
Even something small this sounds like a needed buff regardless
0 -
what are good perks any recommendations
0 -
Well it's because he is supposed to be undetectable when emerging from a portal- but that effect and the addons are 100% useless right now because even without all that they still hear the THUMP THUMP THUMP and it's very obvious he is coming up on you; defeating the entire purpose of it.
Shred is just bugged out of hitting people on stairs and such because if you are elevated when you do it the hitbox bounces you off them like a rubber ball; which is probably not intended because it looks ridiculous, makes no sense, and denies any actual surprising or skilled plays with the already easily dodged ability.
He is not weak though, he is pretty closed to as balanced as it gets. If he gets any changes they will be minor.

I'd say STBL, BBQ, Corrupt Intervention and Ruin/Dying Light.
STBL=getting hits normally, getting hits while cero TR and use shroud to the obsession
BBQ= If you put hidden portals next to gens like crazy in the first minutes without using them (to not reveal them) you can go to another enemy fast
Corrupt=gives you time to put portals and to start the snowball with hooking and some stacks of STBL
Ruin= to slow the game down just a lil bit until one of the 4 survivors finds it (idk if it is worthy put a portal next to a totem)///dying light to slow down passively.
Tips I've heard: put portals above gens to detect survivors with the killer instinct? and put portals next to the exit doors.
There's a lot of information of demo in youtube like the combo make your choice + nurses, etc

Alright, lets see
PGTW is great on any high mobility killer or a killer with a teleport, no exception here.
BBQ is a given
Hex Ruin is another given
MYC is super good if you want to go back and punish people.
M&A I find fun to run occasionally.
Surveillance and TT combo pretty good with Surge.
Enduring and Spirit fury, you get it by now.
STBFL and Corrupt are basically top tier for Demo, thanks for the reminder @TheEdMaverick.

I just feel like the shred ability needs to be a little more unpredictable other than faking them out with it. I DID learn how to use Of The Abyss, that has come in handy, although i feel like the Red Moss should be base, THUMP THUMP plus the base short 1 second "undetectable" isn't it. Survivors can cleanse those shits super quick with no penalty too most of the time. i see some flaws that could make him way more fun. Freddy feels like you're always in a nightmare which is awesome, i thought id feel like im in the Upside Down

Let's give him an addon pass and see how that goes.

I hate the shred cooldow

yes

Demogorgon doesn't need buffs he's already really good if you know how to play him. Put 100 hours into him master the shred and portals and you'll win with him a lot.
Unless the fps on console lags your shred over and over which is a thing sadly.
1 -
I'd say downing people where other killers couldn't by cutting loops short is a pretty high reward.
0 -
You’re right, he definitely needs some buffs, mainly to his Shred.
- Add Shred charge time and range increase modifiers to its add-ons. I find it puzzling that Demo doesn’t have anything to mess with Shred’s charge time and range when the rest of the Killers do.
- Lower the footstep sounds. This makes using the Undetectable effect nearly impossible.
- Make hitting a successful Shred apply a slight Mangled or Hindered effect. You’re having an 8-9 foot tall supernaturally powered monster throw itself into you at incredibly high speeds. Having to deal with slower movement speed or a larger wound wouldn’t be that surprising.
- Lower the base Shred charge time to 50% from 65%. I think having to charge up to 65% takes a little too long. 50% sounds like it would be just right.
- Fix the add-on numbers. For being Rare or Very Rare add-ons, their numbers are PATHETIC. Most of the Very Rare and the Rare Undetectable add-ons seem like they should be Common or Uncommon.

Personally, I'd give him the ability to destroy his portals, so long as he's standing on them.
Second, I'd add an addon that made his traversal silent. It bugs me that everything he does, he does so loudly.
1 -
He aint that bad. Demo really doesn't need any buffs besides being able too replace portals once he's out.
0 -
2: Absolutely needed I agree, I feel this was a design oversight they will correct soon enough.
The rest, not so much. They need to address the footstep volume, fix the bug with shred, and fix his stupid shoulders slowing him down on loops.
Oh and make portals actually ****ing PLACEABLE. Almost anywhere you put them if there is so much as a pixel out of place it will be like NOPE; and you end up wandering around an area mashing the button waiting to be able to, only to briefly have it and walk past it and just waste like 15 seconds trying to put a portal down cause of buggy terrain.
That is all they have to do, just QOL and bug fixing basically. He is a very balanced killer right now.
0 -
Even though Shred addons would be more fun than portal addons, I really don't think he needs them. Shred is just really well balanced as it is imo.
I think his balance is pretty much spot on right now.
0 -
I vibe with most of this
2 -
I do best with The Demogorgon. I think he's fine as is. It's frustrating going against a really good player who knows how to use it, actually.
0 -
I think Demo is in a good place right now. Sure, he struggles against optimal survivors, but then again all killers do lol.
0 -
it's not as black and white as that, would you say something like that to the old freddy? this is what that feels like dude
0 -
After reading some more replies I've gotta be honest, my opinion has changed a tad bit. The big one being its undetectable add ons I think should be looked at and please, lower Mr. Stompy's footsteps, please.
1 -
I think he is good as well, just needs a lot of quality of life fixes.
-Portals need to be less picky when being placed
-Huge shoulder hit box needs to stop clipping walls and stopping me when looping.
-Shred needs to have the bug fixed
-His footsteps should be muted when he is in undetectable status, or be quieted or something, right now they are so loud they defeat all of his undetectable from portal bonuses entirely.
Fixing all those actual issues, would be enough of a buff.
2 -
i like a lot of those ideas
0 -
No, no buff, he's already great in the right hands, demo main here btw so i know best :)
2 -
In Stranger Things The Demogorgan itself is pretty stealthy by design. Like a hunter stalking its prey. Having footsteps so loud defeats the whole design of the demogorgan. #RespectTheLore.
3 -
You think Demogorgon feels like old Freddy? I dunno what you're doing with poor Demodoggy but I promise it is not right.
2 -
What's the Shred bug? Not sure I've noticed one.
0 -
Also the the portals seem to make a sound whenever demo is exiting them. Making undetectable worthless
0 -
Hit someone from stairs or an even slightly elevated position sometime and watch what happens. You'll bounce to the moon and deal no damage.
The radius and volume on that isn't that bad, and if it's that close they probably see the process anyways. The footsteps are what give it away as soon as you take that first step it's practically terror radius distance loud.
Just observations on what I think his biggest issues are, not even balance wise just in terms of pure base function.
0 -
Ohhh right that. Well I mean, that's a hitbox issue, not necessarily a bug. Could be intentional.
It does feel weird though I'll give you that.
0 -
I've literally gone flying, and it spits you in a random direction like you feel of a giant roulette wheel sometimes.
It's a hitbox issue yes, but I highly doubt it's intended; I've mentioned it to the devs and they acknowledged the issue so they are at least aware of it as well.
0 -
If they allowed those Shreds to land that could be fun af. I'm all for that.
0 -
I mean it's a pounce attack, it would be really counter intuitive otherwise; especially punishing you for trying on top of that. It's one of the most telegraphed attacks in the game too so even from a balance perspective it wouldn't make much sense otherwise.
Maybe not this update, but I bet it's fixed by the next update after.
