with the gutting of BL can we please do something about exhaustion addons now?
exhaustion addons have never been changed and is still tuned for old survivor gameplay. with the change to BL now exhaustion addons are even more miserable and with oni’s new perks im not even gonna start. theyre brutally strong and do too much.

I'm sick of people saying its getting gutted. Nothing is being changed for people who don't abuse loops with drops. In fact, for these people, and for stealth players, balanced will be significantly better due to it muffling the sound of falling, which is usually a dead giveaway of your location. Not only that, but you still get the stagger reduction, which means you don't lose any of the speed boost due to being staggered after a fall. Its still going to be my go to exhaustion perk.

fair enough, but the exhaustion addons..?

Exhaustion addons cause exhaustion. They should cause exhaustion because they are exhaustion addons.
Balance is no trade, it's balance.

doesnt matter, they do may to much for free especially since i cant run and lose exhaustion
0 -
Nah we good
0 -
They don't do it for free you know, they take an addon slot.
9 -
4/17 killers even have them, you'll survive. 😏
0 -
i assume u think iri head and mori is balanced too since they take a slot lmao
0 -
Iri head has counter play and requires both addons to be viable

I thought you wanted to discuss exhaustion addons?
Tell me why they are overpowered in a game, where survivors got many opportunities to stand still aka repairing a gen or healing or cleansing a totem and so on. They are op, because they give the killer an advantage in a chase?
0 -
OH REALLY? ENLIGHTEN ME LMAO

Killer is burning half of their add on slots JUST to counter a specific group of perks, at the very least, those add ons should be effective against those perks.
Hell, other than Dead Hard you can still activate most of the exhaustion perks around the add ons, you just have to adapt and use them a bit earlier.

You'd be better off abandoning this topic, given the quality of replies you've received thus far.
This thread is not going to go anywhere useful or constructive.

It's main reason for use was taken away. Sounds like it was gutted to me. Yes it was abused. But I'd rather they have addressed the map issues instead. It the silent landing part was active even while exhausted it would have been at least a lateral move if not a buff in my eyes.

Every time I see "BL" in a DBD thread I think "BloodLust". At the very least take the extra 1.5 seconds to type out the whole Balanced Landing in the thread title.
1 -
The issues with MOST maps were only issues because Balanced Landing existed in its current state.
There's no sense in reworking like 20 maps and limiting future design to cater for a broken perk, rather than just fixing up the perk.
2 -
I have a question. Does BL activate if you don't sprint after landing? Does it still cause exhaustion if you walk away first?
0 -
Not to mention if you balance the map around balanced landing, you're kinda screwing over everyone who's NOT using the perk.
1 -
It procs on landing where you receive stagger, so if it's a very small drop it won't proc no matter what. You can be crouching after a drop without urban evasion and move the whole what...50% movement speed?... Actually I honestly don't know how the math works in that situation. I know crouching is 25% basically and the speed bursts give +50%...
0 -
It activates as soon as you hit the ground.
1 -
The 90 second exhaustion add on for huntress is just brutal
1 -
Its also typically unnecessary, lol. Since exhaustion doesnt go down while running, if she hits you with a hatchet to apply it...unless you manage to evade her, your not gonna get the timer down even if just using the brown version.

Which begs the question, how would these addons be 'fixed'? Reducing duration won't matter unless it's brought to like 5 seconds which could add counterplay in managing their new exhaustion, but if brought that low would killers end up running them? A single bit of lost los could give you the time you need to lose that exhaustion. Biggest issue is nerfing them so far they just end up being unused on the few killers that do have such addons (I honestly wish there were more even though I was on the receiving end against a huntress).

Lmao getting gutted, come on. It's the exact same, and even better, for the first use of it per chase - which is the most important part of it anyway.
And just for the record, Legion also isn't getting gutted. Or Spirit. People overreact to slight changes way too much.
0 -
Mhm a already weakest killer in the game getting nerfed even more and losing access to like 6 perks that made him niche at best isnt getting "gutted". Your killing me with laughter so much im not laughing.
0 -
What about them? Not everyone runs or needs a exhaustion perk to loop at high levels. Plus those addons are not very good outside of the people using exhaustion perks.
It's a scenario that if you have them your boned, but if you dont rely on them you didnt lose anything. The killer wasted a slot.
Legion was ready gutted thats why the Legion didn't lose anything.

Bruh just heal yourself XD

I think its alright tbh. The only exhaustion perk being completely countered by them is dead hard. Sprint burst gets used as soon as the chase starts anyway, and you COULD use your BL or Lithe early on in the chase. I was just saying the 90 second timer was just overkill. Thats like having an addon on Myers that makes EW3 do 5 times dmg instead of just 2, lol.
0 -
And that's all that people see. To me I see him getting worse with some specific perks, in exchange for having faster movement speed and much faster vaulting speeds in Frenzy. These buffs completely outweigh his nerfs in every way.
...but this isn't a Legion thread lol, so we should stop.

This. So many people going "bAlAnCeD uSeLeSs" even though it's still great for what it did originally: allowing you to escape using unique map props / loops that are otherwise unsafe. It just no longer enables dumb infinites on Haddonfield.
Still think that Haddonfield needed a change more than Balanced, but Balanced is a problem perk and changing it now frees up design space for the future. TBH I have no idea how The Game and Mount Ormond were allowed to be added with Balanced Landing in the game.
1 -
What do you mean for free? They're add-ons. You need to bring them into the match, and make them proc. That's not free, lol

How is this a stealth perk now? It still gives a speed boost, which is a chase extender? What, am I supposed to quietly jump down from a building and walk around with a 150% speed boost to hide from a killer? The perk has an identity crisis with these changes. Not to mention all buildings except Crotus Prenn give you clear LOS on the survivor pretty much, so if you're being chased losing them with this perk will be pointless as well.(couldn't quote)

maybe dance with me should be updated to do the scratch mark thing when falling from heights

Yes, he is right. With only one Iri head, you can EASILY dodge.

Regardless of Balanced Landing becoming the worst Exhaustion Perk in the Game, Exhaustion Add Ons are stupid and should be changed. They are from a time where Exhaustion recovered while running, now they simply remove a Perk. Beerus Toxin is only 3k BP, negating Dead Hard, Lithe, Balanced Landing (completely, after the Nerf)...
This is like if those Toolbox Add Ons which increase the Skill Check Zones would increase the Hex-Skill Check Zones... Killers would riot.
Cheap Add Ons should not negate entire Perks. And it does not even matter (when it comes to Huntress) if someone is exhausted for 30 seconds (brown) or 90 seconds (green), since Exhaustion does not recover while running...
2 -
Then have fun choosing a bad exhaustion perk over others. And the Muffling of the sound won't make it great, because the perk will still stay very situational and mapdesign plus a speedbust perk aren't good for a stealthy approach. The dropdown grunt is more important in situation where you want to stay hidden from the killer and would fit better to Calm Spirit or Iron Will.
We've discussed a lot about BL and why it wasn't popular before they removed the reduced stagger cooldown. And people who run it didn't only abuse loops with drops. They used it in general for a bunch of situations with map traversal. It was kinda broken to some degree. But only on very specific loops and broken maps. And even without it those still will be strong and problematic. The reduced stagger was what made the perk actually usefull and nice to play with. Maybe broken to some degree. But this could have been adressed with reintroducing the reduced stagger cooldown and reconsider it's exhaustion perk status.
The main issue with Exhaustion AddOns is that they were created before they've changed Exhaustion to not recover while running and instantly recover when beeing hooked. They definitively need changes. Berus Toxin and Venomous Concoction make barely a difference for a Huntress player. The timer makes barely a difference now.
Besides taking an Exhaustion perk away is quite powerful. And Killer can do this by using AddOns which they can easily get (brown, yellow).

Definitely the exhausting addons should be reworked. They are on many people, including sreamers you all know bullshit list. These addons were made in an era where it was possible to use an exhasting perks multiple times in a chase. The cooldown was going down ! That was changed long long long long ago, so long ago my hair got white already. Yet these addons were not. One hit and you are perma exhausted. The clowns one is more problematic because it is just sooo easy to use. The huntress one is the easiest one to change - and hers is just such bullshit that she has the cheapest possible addon for that... and it counters an entire perk ... At least make it ultra rare or sth.. Ofc the timer is the real change here that has to be made with cooldown going down when hit by an exhausting addon before using the perk itself

Simple..unless you want to waste half your game reloading with a chance of nothing to gain you need infantry belt to make it worthwhile , and without wind up addons huntress is quite slow on the pull up and therefore way easier to avoid..your welcome

Yeah you're right. I didn't considered, that it makes no differwnce which one you use. I think they will rework huntress addons anyway, because iri hatchets are overperforming

Couldn't you use context clues? That's how I figured out.
When you see exhaustion and BL — what's the first thing that comes to mind? When OP said BL is gutted, since Bloodlust hasn't been touched in a while and Balanced Landing recently been touch — it's safe to assume he's talking about Balanced Landing.
However, I do agree, if you don't have enough context clues to make your topic clear then you should have to write out what the abbreviation stands for. 😁🤗

Considering she is a slow killer and you have to actually hit someone with a hatchet, Huntress's exhaustion add-ons are just fine.
Pig's exhaustion add-ons require you to have an RBT which is also fine because it means she caught you at least once. Do boxes, remove the trap, and it's all fine.
Clown's exhaustion add-ons, however, I think are unfair mainly because he doesn't need to have good aim to have it affect you. Heck he doesn't even need to land it near you, you just need to run through the gas. The add-on should be changed to only affect you if he hits you with the bottle, BUT to compensate double the timer. Also make it so the timer stops if you are in the gas and for maybe 5 seconds after exiting the gas (which he can use to keep you exhausted if you already were). This way if he inflicts exhaustion he at least has to use some skill, not just toss it by a loop and push you into the gas.

As for the Pig's exhaustion RBTs, honestly, it's kinda BS. You have to be exhausted while an RBT is on your head, then wait until the exhaustion effect wears off once you get it off your head. If it wore off as soon as you took the RBT off your head, sure, maybe, but even then to be exhausted the entire time an RBT is on your head while being chased and being unable to get it off sounds kind of unfair. If it's active especially, and if no one heals you. Feels like there are too many things working against you in that situation.

I'm pretty sure it goes away the moment you take the trap off though. And yea, it hurts you if you still have a trap but that's, like, the whole point. It's to encourage you to do the trap instead of gens (which good survivors tend to do anyway and only worry about the trap after it's active).
0 -
You sure you don't have to also wait 40 seconds for your perk to become active again? Cuz that's usually how it goes. And yeah, I'm just saying, even if you're trying to do the trap, Pigs tend to check their boxes too, so doing them isn't always easy. I've actually died trying to get one off one time because the key was in the box where a survivor was looping, went to another box nearby while my head was about to pop, then died by the time she left the box.
0 -
I'm very positive of it. Unless it's a bug. Or maybe you used an exhaustion perk, got caught, given an RBT which locks the timer, and then it counts down after you remove it. But if you got hooked it should reset.
0 -
It should have never been touched in the first place. Maybe They reduced the stagger duration from 75 to 50 I feel something like that would be better.
0 -
They're fine. It's been months since I've seen an exhaustion add-on. I'd even say they're weak.

Mori doesn't really take a slot. It's the only offering that provides a direct player advantage.
The shrouds in theory help but in practice are negative utility.

It's not any easier than a normal hatchet.

Moreso because she only have 1 iridecent and thus needs a 2nd, kinda like doc and the chainsaw bros
