Show Killers Name in Lobby
Hello it would not be good to show the name of the killer in the lobby, or remove the name survivor, so you know if you want to play against this killer or not. What do you think?
or that you have an x or a hook in afterchat and who you are in the lobby is the x or hook is displayed dan you know it also if you want to play against him or not

I think they should just remove survivor names from lobbies. It is super annoying when the salty killer from the last game tunnels you the entire match.
19 -
I'd be far, far more in favor of removing Survivor names than in favor of adding Killer names.
8 -
I'd rather the survivors see the killer name rather than not being able to see the survivor names.
3 -
My name would give a lot of information in the lobby :(
I'd have to never play Demo with Barbeque. :(
5 -
but i remember killer wich i dont want to play for exemple for if i dont like to be tunneled or something you know
2 -
Than you'll run into survivor trolls that can now team up with killers and double team you
For every action there is a consequence

I feel like id just be incentivized to change my name to ImmaGetUWithMahNOED, just to trick ppl into actually doing bones.
11 -
Except people can change their name rather freely... Ive seen people change their name into something else while theyre on the endgame chat screen, lol.
0 -
but you can block a killer and than you know you dont want to play against him its that easy
0 -
And that's exactly what they don't want you to do.
They don't want people to block other people for using a playstyle they don't like facing.
5 -
or that you have an x or a hook in afterchat and who you are in the lobby is the x or hook is displayed dan you know it also if you want to play against him or not its better solution and hide survivors names

On PS4 swf survivors can already see the killer's name if they exploit Sony's party system.
Probably explains why there are few killers left on that platform.
2 -
Psychology is OP, please nerf. 😏
0 -
Removing the survivor names would be fine, at least for the killer.
0 -
It's a bit different on console...
0 -
Im fine with how it is now. It helps with obsession perks at the beginning of the match and it helps know what to expect as a killer. (ex. certain people will be better than others.)
Survivors don't need to get this extra advantage, imo.
2 -
Would you prefer they DC during the match instead?
0 -
I've always said survivors should have their name hidden. Killers should only see their name in the endgame tally screen. It gives the killer the option to dodge or be more toxic depending on who they're facing.
Also they should fix the exploit on ps4 for the survivors seeing who the killer is.
This would help stop dodging and allows killers to make decisions based on what they see, and not who they are.
0 -
You can see 90% of the time on Xbox, too.
0 -
Nope, which is why punishments will come.
0 -
Just remove survivor name and profile access from lobbies.
It isn’t that difficult.
2 -
On console you can see the killers username
0 -
I don't think the killer's name should be displayed. What should be there is the killer's ping to the server.
0 -
How is that better than avoiding the need for punishment? Killers have the option to dodge lobbies they don't like all the time. Wouldn't allowing survivors the same luxury lead to less DC's?
0 -
There'll always be a need for punishment and lacking them before this change was a pretty huge downside.
0 -
Isnt this already possible on ps4? Ive gotten messages before.
0 -
@supersonic853 yes. Through the Ps4 party system, they can see who they're playing with and, through process of elimination, they see who the killer is. However, if you show as offline, they cannot see your username.
@LULKEK this has been tried before and it got taken away because it was abused. Everyone dodged killers who played someone they didn't like to face, or they had a trophy for X, or they "camped", or they "tunneled", or they liked to run X perk, or they hated the username, etc, etc, etc...
0 -
On Ps4 you can't if they go into hiding.
0 -
All the names would have to be hidden, it makes no sense to be able to see them and check your profile before each game, the survivors should only see the names of the premades. The icons show enough information to the killer in game and it is not necessary for them to know the name of the people with whom they will play
0 -
How often do you get the same Killer twice?
0 -
It happens every now and then in solo survivor but happens quite often in swf. I don't really care about it in swf but it gets really annoying in solo.
Many killers also keep dodging survivors with lots of hours in dbd by checking their steam profile.
0 -
Not as easy on console as on PSN it requires money after a free one. I dont know about Xbox tho.
Either way my new steam ID will be "Master of NoeD"
0 -
Yes, there will be. But attacking a root cause of the need seems like a good thing to me.
0 -
Survivors used to be able to see killer names on PC when it was P2P via programs and steam functions. This caused a lot of survivors dodging killers constantly and increasing queue time. The current state is decent. Removing survivor names may be the next step, but I like how it currently is better.

Xbox's Recent players would have a word with you
For some stupid reason on recent players for xbox it will let you get everyones username that is currently in the lobby you are in, including the killers
0 -
I had a Ghostface this morning change his name right before the match started, so the name on the bottom of the screen didnt match the name in the endgame chat box...
0 -
Rather remove survivor names.
0 -
no, and grow a pair mate.
0 -
No, this is the opposite direction of where we need to go. Get rid of the second lobby completely. Lobby dodging is the same as DCing.
1 -
They've stated before that they want the Killer to have the advantage of knowing what's coming, while giving Survivors the advantage of chatting & strategizing beforehand.
0 -
All allowing the killers name to be seen does is let survivors dodge a player they've had issues with. The killer still gets the same information they had before. Also pregame chat is only a PC thing.
0 -
You can message eachother on console, right?
They don't want Survivors to avoid Killers for "issues".
Plus it allows more than that, like having 4 people from 1 trial claim their Killer was toxic when that wasn't the case.
0 -
But it's fine that killers can use that information to dodge?
0 -
People would just block any unfun killer and see their steam profile and if it's blocked they would dodge
Soo it's not a good idea
0 -
No thanks- in fact just remove seeing steam profiles entirely.
1 -
Yes, they don't mind a Killer or Survivors disconnecting in the lobby, anyone should be able to leave a lobby without consequences.
What they don't approve of is to disconnect from the lobby purely from the information gained.
Giving Survivors the ability to see the Killer's name would, theoretically, raise the amount of lobby disconnects by 4 times.
Also, seeing the Killer's name would pretty much be a counter to the benefit they want Killers to have in the lobby.
0 -
That's literally why killers dodge though. Because of the information gained. I fail to see how it counters the gain killers get. Unless of course their name says Hag main or something like that.
0 -
It counters them because they can be dodged for playing in a way they judge unwanted.
0 -
Which is no different from killers dodging too many toolboxes.
0 -
i wouldnt really mind showing it tbh.
you might actually be able to frick with them a little by calling yourself "NOED Billy" and then not running NOED, making them completely paranoid over nothing xD
in the end i fear survivors would start dodging killers they know are good players, which would be a bad thing...
