basement bug (killer question)

I caught someone in the basement and than caught another survivor close to the shack. I hooked them in the basement and they told me in end game chat how there's a bug and its considered an exploit. They said they reported me for hooking them in the basement. Is it true hooking in the basement is consider a exploit until the devs fixed the bug because if so than that's dumb.

    It isn't an exploit, it's considered a bug.

    This is mainly because of challenges that require you to hook people in the basement, achievements that also require basement hooks, etc.

    People can abuse it and turn it into some malicious, but that's debatable bannable at this point. Mainly because you can't "abuse" a bug that random happens, it doesn't happen every time.

    That's probably why they're leaning towards a non-bannable offence than a bannable one.
