Red Moss - The Demogorgon Stats?
Was looking for some clarification on the effects of the Ultra Rare Add-on Red Moss for The Demogorgon
To put it simply, the gamepedia page states as follows.
"Decreases the Power Recovery speed of traversing the Upside Down by 10 seconds to a total of 24 seconds."
But in reality we know this isn't true because the same page correctly states that the default power recovery speed is 14 seconds (meaning if power recovery really was increased by 10 seconds then recovery speed should be 4 seconds not 24)
In addition the page claims "Increases the duration of the Undetectable Status Effect by 8 seconds to a total of 10 seconds." and whilst s that's well and good. The next lowest tier addon for Undetectable is the Vermilion Webcap only increases the status effect by 1 second.
To be blunt the sudden jump from a Considerable = 1 second to Tremendous = 10 seconds in addition to the incorrect math of power recovery has me doubting the pages accuracy in it's entirety.
Can someone verify this information so I can get an idea of what Red Moss actually does?

From what I can tell specifically with the webcap part is correct.

The page is correct, you are just reading it wrong.
If you decrease the power recovery speed by 10 seconds then it will take 10 seconds longer.
So adding 10 seconds onto what we agreed was a 14 second base cooldown is indeed 24 seconds. This downside is why the undetectable status increase is so much larger than the other ones.

What @NuclearBurrito said. The sudden jump between the rares is odd, but it does make sense... somewhat...
The "Tremendously, Considerably, Moderately, and Slightly" measurements of percentages hasn't always been the most accurate depiction in the first place... so I can understand why this seemed confusing if you read it like that at the start.

Not much point in using it anyways they can hear you from a mile away regardless THUMP THUMP THUMP

Depends where you set your portals and how often you teleport between them.
If you don't use them much and than teleport randomly... than people won't expect it. If you use it constantly with obvious areas, than they'll know where you're coming from or going to.
Its even more obvious when less generators are on the field.

It's not about being predictable. He's saying that you are loud enough that the undetectable status doesn't help that much.

I'm aware of what he was saying yes...
Despite the loud noising ruining the concept of stealth with the teleports... you can still fool people into not knowing where you'll be with many tactics.
You can stand still for 3 seconds after teleporting to make them think you went somewhere else (with Red Moss not base-kit), you can teleport to a hidden portal with plenty of walls that block you from being seen, you can also teleport to a generator as a means of travel RATHER than stealth.

Well you aren't running red moss if you are using teleports primarily for travel. But I would instead point out as a counter argument that his footsteps noise can only be heard within 8 meters.

I was just pointing out the portals practical uses, of course Red Moss is worthless when used for mobility... in my eyes the mobility is the primary function of the portals (obviously...) and the stealth is a secondary benefit... Red Moss is niche due to the footsteps AND the noise during teleportation.
That's also why if you wait for 3 seconds after teleporting than you might be lucky and catch someone off guard.
For the sake of this being dragged on in the wrong discussion though... i'll agree to disagree.

As interesting as this conversation is, it's probably not the best place to have it since this subforum is meant to be just for answers rather than discussions and OP's question has been answered already.

Yes, that's why at the end of my last comment I stated "For the sake of this being dragged on in the wrong discussion though... i'll agree to disagree."
READ FIBIJEAN READ!!!
(Joking.)
Anyways, lets move on from this... the OP has enough satisfying answers I believe.
