Possible Secondary Objective
So I've seen a lot of people who want to either buff gen slow perks or nerf gen speed or even both (talk about overkill) because gens are too easy and fast. Then you have people who hate holding down M1 the entire match which I understand why people dislike it, it's not that fun and want to force totems into the objective by making ruin a basekit (like, you'd not even need a perk slot for it which would be a bit op). However, I see it like this... Why not fix both by just adding in another objective entirely? I have some ideas, I'm sure some will not be that good but will list them anyway.
1) Find Generator Parts
-Scattered around the map are a few gen parts. With there being 7 generators in total and only needing to do 5, at least 3 (maybe 4) will have missing parts. Meaning you either have to find the 4 gens that don't need parts and do them + one that needs parts (but they could spawn all on one side of the map, making it so you 3 gen yourself with the ones the need parts). Or you could do both. Picking up the generator part will cause you to drop the item you are holding, being picked up by the killer will cause you to drop the generator part.
-Objective: The parts can be hidden in lockers (you cannot hide in these lockers), in chests (which will give you both a normal item + the gen part and you choose which you pick up), or in random spots on the map (even in the basement). Some gens can be missing numerous parts so you'll need to find more than one. You will have to find these parts before you can work on one of these generators, these generators will have slightly slower speed (by about 2-4%). You have to complete 3 skill checks (teensy bit bigger than a DS Skill Check) to insert the part to be able to work on it. If you fail the skill check, the part pops out and you have to do it again.
-Brand New Part: This addon would of course be removed as a toolbox addon as it is a generator part, everything else is just tools that help you.
2) Power Box, Power Lines
-The Generators power lines go somewhere, but where? Have them go to a power box - two of them in fact - and be required to fix the power box as well (not by holding M1 and hitting skill checks, I dunno how else yet though that's still up in the air).
-Objective: There are unhooked power lines between the generators and maybe at the box itself, you will have to take a moment to reconnect these cords as well, they cannot be damaged. You may work on the generators before you complete the work of one of the two electric power boxes (which can be damaged still) however, they cannot be completed until the boxes are (giving the killer a chance to still reduce your progress as you go for the cords and boxes).
-Toolboxes: These will only work on generators still, not anything else.
3) Entity Item
-Now, this is an incomplete idea but we are in the Entity's realm, I feel like there could be something that is connected with both the entity and the exit gates on top of the generators (not the totems, they are the optional objective). I don't have an objective idea figured out yet for this but I feel it could be something along the lines of this:
The more you do X with the objective, the more it weakens the entity which has it's claws surrounding the door. The claws will weaken its grasp on the door and allow it to open. In this time the exit gate switch cannot be used to open the door. Even if you do all the gens first, you still have to go back for the secondary objective. So basically, this scenario there are two things blocking your escape, the entity's claws and the door itself.
~~Also, on top of any of these ideas, the hatch no longer spawns at 5 gens left for the last survivor, it only spawns at 4 or less and you have to do the new objective as well (or at least some of it). You need to at least do SOME work to get a chance to escape like that.
I'm sure any of these ideas could use more work. I'm sure people will dislike them. I'm sure there could be much better ideas. But it is just ideas, ideas that will probably never be added.

Honestly, a very solid concept that is very well put together, I really hope the devs will take a look

The generator needs gas to work, so you have to search the map for two gallons and complete the generator so you can fix it.

Thanks c: One could only hope the devs would look.
I still feel like my ideas could use a bit more work, such as how they could fix the 'holding M1' issue because as of right now, doing chests, doing totems, and doing gens all require you to just hold M1. I just can't think of a way to do the objective ideas of 2 &3 without the use of holding M1 so that's still up in the air.
Ye, that would also make sense with idea #1 since that revolves around doing more to actually be able to fix the gen. Didn't think of gas, only parts. :3

Maybe one of these additional objectives could be random each match. I like the scrap / gas gathering idea the most. It really feels similar to the way that death garden had its objective set up. Maybe you'd have to run and gather these things multiple times for each generator, but otherwise have the gen repair speeds themselves actually be increased. I just really like that idea. I really do hope the devs look into something like these!
