"Bring the Light" Challenge - Only one generator counting per match?

Hi.

I just had a trial in which I completed 3 gens, but it only counted 1/10 gen after the game ended.

Do I have to do the gen on my own from 0 to 100% ? Is it bad that I helped for 2/3 of the gens i did during the trial ?

I am confused.

please note this is me commenting based on how the challenges in previous chapters worked, not firsthand knowledge of this one.

I believe the gen and heal state ones are watching for the equivalent of 10 full gens. So if you did 1 gen yourself and helped with the back 1/3 of two more, you’ll be at 1 and 2/3 gens. Think of it like the daily for saboing hooks. If you 99% three hooks you’ll be counted for saboing two hooks.

It could be a bug like how Iridescent Age was bugged.

No, it's basically how LordRegal said it is above.

It just counts the work you put into it, not the overall finished piece... if that makes sense. Sometimes though, some challenges just require you to finish the heal, so that can be confusing for some players that did that challenge and than get another that requires you to actually gain a full heal yourself or with help.

@Nyaren_Chan challenge requires the full repair, but some other challenges will just ask for the finished product, and not just fully working on it. So, one challenge might just ask you to heal 10 people and count your heals you completed... while others will require the full effort.

It's kind of weird, but it's how it is...

To expand on/clarify the above, it's not a bug, nor is it as simple as the challenge counting whatever progress was made on the generator while you were working on it.

It's not the progress you contributed to that is counted, it's the work you put in. If you complete a full generator solo, you will get 1 generator's worth of progress towards the challenge. If you complete a full generator cooperatively with one other survivor, you'll only get half a generator's worth of progress, even though you were on the generator from 0 to 100%, because you only did half the work on it.

So when it comes to challenges like that, it's more efficient to do generators solo, if you can.
