The leveling system doesn't reward you more shards.
Okay so I noticed how the more you level up the more XP it takes to level up each time BUT the shards you earn also increase. Although this sounds good but the shards basically stay the same. To earn 300 shards at level one takes the same amount of playtime if you earned 300 shards at level 90 so this creates a false narrative that you earn more shards with each level but in reality you still earn the same amount. If anyone needs an example ill show you what I mean.
Lets say at level 1 you earn 30 shards per level and it takes 1 game to level up.
At level 50 you earn 300 shards per level and it takes 10 games to level up.
This is how the dead by daylight leveling system works and I think it needs to be changed so that way you actually earn more shards per level.

So you think the current system doesn't reward enough shards?

Mo' shards mo' betta

devotion would be worth it if it gave you 10000 shards every 100 levels

I don't think there is an issue with it. Yes, the shards per XP basically stays the same, maybe +- 5% but the level progression slows down. Maybe this is just intended to have a constant shard flow, but the closer you get to the top, the levels are just increasing more slowly. Then you get the devotion and speed up again.
What is bad with this? Wouldn't it be annoying to know "when I got next devotion, my shards gain will slow down, but tomorrow comes the new shrine, sucks". I personally like when I know that I need a specific amount of time to get a specific amount of shards.
I'm pretty sure they calculated that well, remember that there are several chapters that you can buy for iridiscent shards, so if you get your shards speed up or devotion bonus, the overall progress will most likely be slowed down, especially in the first levels

Yeah, through the entire system the shards per XP do not change. It's pretty crappy.

Idk I dont think 200 hours for one cosmetic is fine

Yes and also I think they should remove the fact that you level up so slowly but keep the same amount of shards its very discouraging.

Hmm idk, I feel like the amount of shards you get for playing is already extremely generous. I'm surprised we're even able to buy chapters with play time.

You know what game does a great job with this, League of Legends. The more you play the easier it is to get new characters and then you can spend $ on cosmetic items instead.

So have they implemented devotion rewards yet?

That's a bit much

There is no difference between level 1 and 99. Except 1 is better, imagine you're 20 shards away and you have to play 10 games to actually get the necessary amount lol. Level 1, 2 games maybe. Honestly, I think we get more than enough shards from this but the system is dumb. Same amount of shards but no useless level would be better.

It's not like it makes you go back to the beginning like with Prestige

You need to use real numbers.

Level= Time spent in a game. At level 1 or 99, a 15mins game is rewarded the exact same amount of xp. So 2 games for 300 or 20 games for 3000... It's the same. Start a game, don't even play it. If it lasts 20mins you will get 800xp. That's all.

I think we should get more shards per level based on the amount of devotion we have for example a person with devotion 5 would get 500 for something someone with no devotion would get 250 for give or take in amounts

I have made several polls that asked if the amount of bloodpoints or shards should be increased but everyone can play this game grinding 24/7 and not have to do anything else apparently , so there's no point in asking since people can't understand the fact that not everyone can play this game 24/7 and always grind .

That's a price problem. Why the hell is buying a whole new character cheaper than buying an outfit?????
