Dealing with oddly specific Archive challenges becoming more of a frustration than an accomplishment
So looking into things like that can be as simple as getting a 4k or getting said 4k in the basement.
Things that you can do in the scope of a random game that can feel pretty good but the Archive seems poised to shift that from a feeling of accomplishment to that of frustration.
Because the Archive only allows you to work on one very specific goal at a time and likely by design to add more time to it by not allowing players to compete multiple challenges in a single game. Which is arguably understandable.
The thing there is that you can get multiple 4ks while working on other challenges and finally get to one that requires you to get a 4k and you're just in a dead zone. Where game after game after game all you can think about is the 4k and now that you're focusing on that singular challenge, every time you fail it just becomes a mounting frustration.
So maybe switch those sometimes oddly specific Archive challenges from sequential challenges into a "free" challenge. Where once the player qualifies for it they are offered the choice of selecting the sequential challenge that they might have qualified for OR the free challenge.
That way you aren't getting more than one challenge out of a single game but at the same time the players aren't being encouraged to hyper focus on a challenge that could actually end up detracting from their enjoyment of the game.
