Unpopular Opinion: Hag is currently the best killer in the game when played at the highest tier.

People saying "she gets destroyed by flashlights" clearly show they have little to no experience actually playing the killer.
I main her. She's lowkey busted. The only times I lose on Hag are either sometimes to extremely coordinated teams (and even they struggle) or when I mess up royally. I still put her below Nurse and Spirit due to the fact that both can get downs faster on average when the player is half competent, but Hag snowballs harder than any other killer in the game.
And to people saying "you have to be very smart with your traps vs good survivors", well, no #########, you have to play well to beat good players. You still beat them the majority of the times if you play well though. And half the skill cap in this killer is placing smart traps.
And no, she doesn't care about big maps either. Hag plays half map anyways. She's probably the killer who cares the least about the map she's in.

I said if they know what they are doing.
At least thats my experience with her. Once I was playing against a good team, and they sweeped at least 50% of my traps with flashlights, or by activating them on purpose. At the end of the game I had to open the exit gate myself cause we had a standstill on a 1% gate lmao. They cleared the traps so fast I couldnt keep up with resetting, defending the gate and hitting them at the same time.
0 -
That was your mistake, You always have to keep replacing your traps. You´re not trapper and don´t have to pick up your traps and reset them.

I love this. I got way more backlash for saying this a while ago.

The best player in all of DBD has had a game where they’ve gotten no kills. You’re basically just lying to yourself.
0 -
The map was swamp lol
They triggered the traps out of range

You can still counter her with 2 flashlights on coms. One loops her and runs away when she traps it. The second flashlight can clean up the traps afterwards, forcing her to a 110% killer. 2 are doing gens and 2 are following her to cleanse traps and loop her. Find Hag early, trigger her traps aggressively and she becomes one of the weakest killers.
She may be the best killer to 4k against randoms, but against prepared swf teams, she gets countered. Like Billy, but more extreme.

@Masantonio Flashlights are quite common in red ranks. It's not unusual to see one or two flashlights in a match.
0 -
Nope. Hes obviously not the best player.
0 -
Not saying that at all. I’m hypothetically speaking.

Some things to add. I'm a rank 1 Hag main. I think she's very strong, but I won't sit here and tell anyone she's bulletproof. I can link vods of me 4k'ing at 5 gens without Ruin if people insist on proof. That being said...
Regarding maps, she absolutely has bad maps. Corrupt Intervention funnels people for 2 minutes and they're under no obligation to walk into your web at any point. She is the worst killer in the game unless people are steppin in your traps, and they can't step on your traps when they are doing gens. Keep this in mind for later. There are no choke points on Gas Heaven outside of the garage, and 3 of the gens can be way on the other side of the car piles. 3 gen is nice, but survivors have to give that to you to a degree. If I get a 3 gen, I probably didn't need it in the first place.
Regarding counterplay, flashlights can be a problem, but I'm more worried about comms and Sprint Burst. I only lose when survivors take turns setting off traps and using Sprint Burst while the others do gens. Good (read: good) coordinated teams will discern where your web is through comms or OoO and every one of them will run to dead areas and force you to leave them or chase. I won't name drop survivors because rules, but the usual high tier SWF on US servers are still extremely tough to deal with.
But moreso than that, good teams will force you to be slow. What I mean is, they'll spread out and do gens individually on a large map. You hook one, and one goes for the save. You either force a trade and put out 0 pressure on the 2 survivors on gens or walk at 110 to pressure gens. You can absolutely get a hook trade or even a double every time with a lot of traps in the 1/4 of the map around the hook, but then you have very little everywhere else, and maps are enormous.
I'm not saying she's weak at all. I think she's 2nd best. But she's not an all powerful steamroller.

You still have the advantage because your traps teleport right back to you. Always try placing them in new places where you know the survivors are going to go.

My opinion with flashlights against Hag:
One or two aren’t going to hurt her.
More than 2 can hurt her, but definitely won’t kill her.
0 -
Well im obviously notcounting games when i was a beginner player. My first game as killer all 4 survived. Obviously im referring to play as a veteran.
0 -
If you're getting looped as Hag you're already playing her wrong.
You're only mentioning what survivors can do to her, not what she can do to survivors. I already faced plenty of 4-man teams with 2+ flashlights. The only times when I lost were when I misplayed. I still stomped most of those games.
1 -
I tend to let players finish gens seperate from the bulk of gens so i have a smaller area to defend. Guarding 4 or 3 is very easy with hag.

I’ve been playing since the game released. There are times where 3-4 survivors escape. It has happened. Unless maybe you play lower ranked games? Or always use Moris? You won’t even mention your play time.
0 -
Normally you dont get looped as hag. But 2 flashlights following you around force you to. You place a trap and wander off. Puff, gone. You chase the survivor who cleanses your traps and place traps midchase to stop the loop and force him away while building up map pressure by trapping loops. Normal hag stuff, but when a second flashlight follows you and cleanses those traps too, you're screwed. If you trap midchase, you give plenty of time to run away while achieving nothing since the traps gets cleansed afterwards.
Doesnt happen often to play against those teams, you can dodge them as well. But its a ... humbling experience regarding hags power level.
1 -
Play against a Hag who camps or puts multiple traps at every hook. ggez
Play against a Hag who traps loops, can force people into her web, and exploits Survivor tunnel vision going pallet to pallet. Nightmare fuel
She is arguably the easiest Killer to snowball with, and there's not much Survivors can do against it when it starts.
fwiw, coordinated SWF breaks the game against any Killer. You can still win, it just becomes a sweatfest really fast.
I love mama Hag. 💘
2 -
Against good survivors, too big of a map will destroy her. The cornfield maps are probably her worst maps, and survivors need to play pretty poorly to lose against any hag there.
0 -
Because im not at home to see it. Im at work. I dont really careif you know it. I cant say because i wont be home for another 3 hours.
0 -
So I guess you are lowered rank and use moris? Or you didn’t answer that for some reason.
I mean it’s not hard to give an estimate. I can tell you off the bat that I have more than a thousand plus hours without even looking.
0 -
Whats moris?
Maybe 3 hours a day, 5 to 6 days a week since last june.
Im definitely not a low rank.
0 -
Kinda true (she is one of the best for sure) except for map sizes as the only counter factor.
0 -
Hag DOES NOT CARE ABOUT BIG MAPS
How are you guys playing her seriously? Are you just wandering around the map playing like a normal M1 killer?
1 -
I mean, every killer is. Huntress suffers the worst, but, all killers suffer from poor map designs.
0 -
So a no on Mori.
By that estimate, thats about 480 hours. I find it hard to believe you never lose with that amount of hours. Even if I do love Hag.
So you are Red ranks right?
0 -
So glad some people know (:
1 -
Well she on her bad maps feels it hard
0 -
Against potatoes? Yes.
Against good survivors? You will get absolutely punished and destroyed.
0 -
Hag is probably second to Spirit.
Only because Spirit is more versatile. But since Nurse got nerfed, and Spirit's nerf too, the gap between Hag and Spirit has closed significantly, and Nurse has dropped to around an equal level with Hag, slightly weaker.
But yeah, I agree with the post saying Hag is good, but not with her being better than a titan like Spirit. I do play Hag, by the way.
Heh, they're easy to counter if you don't mess up.
1 -
Red ranks?afraid i dont know. I stopped paying attention to rank when i couldnt find a leader board.

She excels more on small/indoor maps, where you cant run to deadzones. One of her counterplays is patiently ticking away the last generators while running to deadzones. If hag commits the last gen pops, if she doesnt the gens will slowly get done while you get a lot of chances for plays. But if survivors play it right and watch your trapsettings while you're returning to your territory, they can play around those. Lets not pretend Hag is flawless. She has specific counterplays that survivors must know. Thats why shes toptier and very strong. But when survivors know what to do, its an attrition war on big maps if the genrush fails. On small/indoor maps they lack the option to run to deadzones. Big difference imo.
1 -
Eh, she doesn't REALLY have a bad map, not like Nurse or Billy do. If she does, name me one, since I haven't played in a while. I can only think of Ormond Resort, but if you stick to one side, it's still manageable.
0 -
She was my main before her add ons reworked. I need to get back into her more. I personally enjoyed bodyblocking hag.

Mothers dwelling and the farm maps tend to stand out
0 -
Mothers dwelling, I used to kind of stick to 3-4 gens and it worked for me, on the farm maps, same tactic. I also hook them in the middle of my webs. She can still dominate, but it is definitely harder on them, I'll give you that.
0 -
I just dislike how much maps influence your performance..that's why I think killers need something substantial sooner rather than later
0 -
Nurse and Billy are prime examples. Yamaoka Estate maps SCREW Nurse and Billy. They turn trash, Hag and Spirit don't get weakened like that though, that's why I don't see them as map dependant.
But yeah, maps need reworks to be better for some killers. Lerys… that's a nightmare for Nurse and Billy.
0 -
She's the killer that gets affected the least by bad maps. That's a fact.
No matter what map you're playing you can still play half map and do just fine as her.
0 -
She's very strategic for sure. People think that she is just a killer who needs to spam traps in hooked people, camp/tunell and that's all. She's way more hard to play that people think.
creacked turtle egg is such a beast in terms of mind games with traps
0 -
She's top 4 for sure, but idk if she's really the best. OoO still screws her over more than flashlights alone could ever do.
0 -
You want to play?
0 -
In specific circumstances like indoor maps and without the use of OoO, she can contend with the best at the highest level of play. Seen it in my experience in tournaments and such. Though she is strong, get a team well versed in Hag mindgames and the use of OoO and you barely stand a chance at all.

FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT!
Ok, but seriously... just share a gameplay video of you playing hag. It's easier and more to the point.

Hag a good killer? Sure.
Hag the best killer? No. Not even close.
Spirit, Nurse and Freddy all have her beat very clearly. Billy and Huntress also but to a lesser degree.
Spirit and Nurse completely dominate in a chase. Hag has to set a trap to win a chase and survivors can just run to another loop. They can also bait her to teleport. Unlike Spirit/Nurse she is still a 110 killer with no way to actually go faster.
Freddy also dominates in a chase with snares and he is 115. He also has a teleport that is superior to Hag's, built in Oblivious, and optional slow down with add-ons. There is no way you can convince me Hag is better than Freddy. He is probably the most dominate killer in the game, even better than Nurse/Spirit all things considered.
Billy is better than Hag. Built in one shot and the ability to sprint around the map faster. Plus he is 115.
Huntress has ranged attacks. That automatically makes her WAY better in chases. Hag has her beat in map pressure. It's very close between the two but I think Huntress edges out Hag ever so slightly.
Hag's major weakness is set up time. Like Trapper she needs to set up traps or else she is powerless. AND her power is hard countered by flashlights and soft countered by crouching. What other killer I mentioned has such counters? None of them. The closest thing is Iron Will against Spirit but that's not a full on hard counter since she can still track you by other means or use Stridor. Hag has nothing to really counter flashlights except Franklin's but that's only going to work if she hits you.
