What Are These Survivor Queue Times (Raising Awareness)
Waiting nearly 15 minutes for a survivor match and I finally give up knowing I'll get a insta queue switching to killer. So I switch to killer ready up and not even 5 seconds in I get a freaking match. Cool. Great. Guess I'll never play survivor again.
Have they discussed this issue somewhere, are they working on this. This is the most frustrating aspect of this game right now. Drives me up a freaking wall. Any shared experiences? I know swf is much worse. Raise awareness on this issue. Sorry, just a frustrated player who loves this game.
Edit: I understand why these queue times are happening such as swf ranking and the easier to stay in high ranks now changes, I just wanna know what's being done to fix it.
Also wanted to note that I love the Devs for this game and the hard work they put into it. They are trying <3

That's gonna be double the wait time once the Ruin nerf drops and the killer either start playing Moris left and right or just switch to Survivor since that's where the fun is.
Killers are not required for the game, They're A.I. Welcome to the 1 hour queues.

its because there are more survivors than killers thus the que times are longer

Maybe. But I feel like it's because of the rank changes. It's a lot easier to get into the lower ranks and stay there so more survivors are in the red Ranks. And then the swf changes, the lowest rank player is the killer match so more survivors in lower ranks because of that. Hope it made sense.

I am very curious to see how that change will affect the game. I as a 50 50 survivor killer main are fine with ruin changes. It will be interesting.

It's gonna get a lot worse once this next patch goes live. The vast majority of the player base doesn't keep up with PTB's or news on the game, so this Ruin change is going to completely catch most of them off guard.

Idk why they don't use the average of the survivors rank to find the killer. Seems to be the most fair way to do it.

Yeah, as much the DBD community is vocal about PTB's and news coming out, it is actually a very small percentage of the games population. Most of the player base just logs on and plays, that's it. Even us here on the forums are a very small outlier of the actual player base.

For those matches where a rank 1 would go up against a rank 14 killer. I know rank doesn't matter too much but it does give some kind of indicator of skill. And you can really feel that on either side and it can be so discouraging. So I get it to that extent but I think they went too far instead of finding a middle ground between the two.

Honestly matchmaking is so ######### right now I keep running into red rank survivor squads as a ######### green rank killer
Uninstalled last night because I'm so ######### tired of the awful matchmaking.
I hope you spend an eternity in the lobby limbo you bully survivors.

Yeah, that was me last night. Red Ranks going up against a green killer. We destroyed them both times, they did manage to kill one each time though and it was a four swf. I'm sorry you have been experiencing that I know how frustrating that can be. I would like to say that it's probably because of the recent rank reset but it's probably just matchmaking. Hopefully you come back to it. And hopefully they attempt to fix match making.

Yeah that makes sense. Overwatch for example, I used to follow regularly for updates to heroes and what not. Since I've stopped there's so many unexplained things when I log in now haha.

There isn't much to be fixed about matchmaking.
If you play in red ranks as surv, game tries to pair you with red rank killer. After some time searching and not finding any red rank killer, matchmaking break its restrictions and try to find purple killers, then green kilkers etc.
If there was enough killers in red ranks, you wouldn't wait any time at all.
Putting red ranks survivors against red rank killers only might double, even triple times in lobbies searching for match.

What are your thoughts on the rank up changes along with the swf changes they have made? More swf groups are now paired with purple red Ranks because they have one person there. Also with keeping rank is much easier a lot more players make it to the purple red Ranks and stay there. That surely is affecting the lobby times? A surge of purple and red rank survivors. That is something they can adjust to some extent.

Problem is ranking as survivor is way easier than ranking as killer leading to lack of red ranks killers.
Basically each time survivors stomps the killers and all escape, they will be happy but killer will derank.
After same games of derank killers will probably won't see same survivors in lobby anymore, because they ranked up.

It usually takes about three to five minutes, sometimes much longer, to find a match as Survivor. As a Killer, matches come almost instantly.

Yeah it is ridiculous. I wish my survivor queue times were that short, even solo queue I wait up to 8 minutes and in rare cases 13 minutes.

Yeah a surge in purple red rank survivors with decreasing killers in those ranks is a bad mix.

This can be fixed by making killers rank up more easily, let them rank up even without kills if they managed to get for example 5-8 hooks.

Right now if u don't get at least two kills, you won't rank up at all.
And against red rank swfs it is not easy job at all.

We aren't here to complain about ruin there are plenty of posts on that. I feel you but this lobby problem was here long before the ruin changes.

Pipping is way too easy is survivor. The pip requirement is one point lower than for killer in green, purple, and red ranks. The survivor's emblem also have "starter" values like the benevolence emblem, meaning you are pretty much garunteeed to get atleast bronze there. Pair that with the new rank "reset" and you will have way too many red rank survivors versus too few red rank killers.

I agree. I can't remember what they did before when adjusting it but it was kind of hard to pip at one point in red Ranks. Find that sweet middle ground. This I feel, is definitely contributing to the long wait times. Too many survivors in one area.

People using ruin are those, who wants to win and get kills and rank up.
Those, who don't care about kills and win are also present in game, but usually not in red ranks.
Ruin changes will mean less victories for killers leading to deranking red killers leading to longer queues for survivors.

Well that was just example, balancing would need some time, some PTB .
Devs would have to put some time to find best balance on that.

I do feel like this change was necessary, as in too many people use it as a crutch kind of perk. I hope this change helps people grow as killers. That being said I do agree with you, it has me worried for the red rank killer base.

There are plenty of killers that don't use Ruin that win a lot in Red ranks.
You'll still get your good and bad games but please try before judging Ruin. I've switched from Ruin to Corrupt and I'm doing just fine

Well, i'd like to see it the way you do, but honestly i think that this change will do opposite thing.
Games will be way faster, which will destroy some killers with bad map pressure.
Keep in mind that every killers derank means rank up for survs.
Some killers will stop playing / swap to survivor or just keep losing.
There will be good killers in red ranks, who can play effectively without ruin and win, but their number will not be enough for growing red rank survivors population.

Yes they are plenty of them, but compare them to numbers of red rank survs.
Numbers of those red rank killers will go down leading red rank survs go up.

The recent changes in the rank reset made it so almost every survivor at purple and higher has long que times. While that same reset makes it so Low rank to starting Killers have a ungodly long wait time. While Low Rank Survivors and Purple to Red Rank Killers get near instanous ques on the regular.
Now with how Ruin is being changed I see a lot of killers quitting or switching to survivor. So while it might seem not like a big deal, but 1 Killer is needed per 4 Survivors. So with Killer's dropping to the other side or the game. The influx of survivors with the decreasing population and popularity of Killer's will further increase the que times for survivors.
So ya have fun playing Lobby Simulator if you happen to be a survivor main.

Define plenty please. 80% did use it. Somehow we only have people here that claim they played for ages without ruin and all but yeah.. must be those 20% here.

Luckily I enjoy both sides so I play whatever has the shorter Que times. Im a Que time main muwahahaha
I enjoy my lobby simulator though I play fashion simulator at that time.

Haha that's great. Same for me. 50/50 but I usually get a mindset ok I'm gonna play survivor now and don't wanna do killer matches at that time but if you don't wanna wait 3 years then you gotta switch.

They don't care. The still haven't fixed the sound bugs.

What are the sound bugs? I feel I have noticed some things but I thought it was me being crazy.

People will grow but..not nearly enough because killers are too limited on what they can do with most of the cast

It is hard to tell, from the Q&A videos it seems they are more focused on new players (you can get more money out of them).
This matchmaking and long queues issue is not that noticable in grey/green ranks.
I honestly think they are aware, but don't put any seriousnes into that.

Well..from someone with a lot of experience..its likely true..few people want to wait for the light at the end of the tunnel..the devs keep pushing out constant killer nerfs the last couple months and I'm sure you read the initial dev post...it doesnt look like they're too concerned about how it feels to be the killer
