Tome challenges

How are some of us supposed to finish some of these challenges for the characters if we don't have them. Seems kinda messed up for the devs to do that. Im not gonna go outta my way to by a character just for a challenge when ill never use the character and i have all the teachables.

    @WhoDatNinja

    The design behind this was to use Killers/Survivors that you can unlock with in-game currency that YOU get while you play normally in-game.

    These challenges do not block the completion of the level either, so they can be skipped till later to unlock at another time once you unlock these characters at another date. If it was Killers/Survivors that can only be purchased with Auric Cells and ONLY Auric Cells, than it would be seen as a "money grab". But, it's not, so you can always skip these challenges until you get the Iridescent shards (the free in-game currency you get by playing normally) and than using them to unlock those characters to complete those challenges.

    It's entirely optional, so you're not forced to pay for them to complete the level if you don't want to, you just can't 100% that level until you unlock said characters to complete those challenges.

    I know how i can aquire them using in game currency but i shouldn't have to use my shards for something ill never use just to complete the tome for 100%. That's what im getting at.

    I mean, the shards are not good for anything else tbh... except skins.

    It isn't that big of a deal, plus they replenish as you just continue playing the game, so it's not like they're being wasted. I understand that it can seem like a pay-wall to make you buy the DLC to do these challenges, but that's why they're entirely optional and not mandatory.

    The Archive in-general is an optional thing, it just rewards you for trying out different things and playing outside of the box in a sense.

    As @FireHazard stated, they are optional, And if I recall correctly (I might be wrong), you can reach the end of the archives without restriction, the only ones who are tied are the lore ones. David is already on the base game so that's a perk that you don't need to purchase

    It depends on if you want the lore pieces or not, that's about it, some challenges do block the way to completing that level but they're mostly just Misc challenges that any Killer/Survivor can do.

    That's what I mean, the ones that recquires a specific killer/survivor or one of those perks are "outside" means you can still complete it.
