The second iteration of 2v8 is now LIVE - find out more information here: https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/kb/articles/480-2v8-developer-update

Changes which should be done towards generators (not the gen speed by itself)

1) Remove the Light Poles

With these things it is too easy to find generators in open maps. The Light Poles should be removed to make finding generators more challenging.

2) Make generators harder to repair.

Increase the Skill Check trigger chance on generators. The chance of Skill Check's triggering while repairing depends on the situation:

  • When looking in the direction of the generator in a 45 degrees cone - Skill Check's trigger chance is 15%.
  • When not looking in the direction of the generator in a 45 degrees cone - Skill Check's trigger chance is 25%.

Progression bonus granted for succeeding Great Skill Checks should be reduced from 2% to 0.4%, or from 1.6 charges to 0.32 charges. (0.32 charges - is the same progression Survivors gain for succeeding Healing great skill checks).

3) Nerf Toolboxes

Coming soon.

4) Decrease the maximum distance between generators spawning in the trial.

To make huge maps less awful for Killers.

    1) can't agree with that. There's no reason why generators should be challenging to find. That's just a change that would punish bad survivors, who already struggle, and do virtually nothing to competent survivors. The main reason why indoor maps were killer sided in the first place is new players not being able to find stuff (except for Hawkins that's just a terrible map overall).

    2) I can see that being an okay change yeah.

    4) just shrink the maps. No reason to have an ocean of a map with gens clumped together and a wasteland of nothingness around them, only thing that would happen is the killer having to chase people too far away from generators which would probably do more harm than good.

The rebalance of skilkchecks might be the way to go, but sadly the devs just reworked the only perk affecting skillcheck rewards.

"Skillchecks arent allowed to be hard" because new or bad survivors would become frustrated.

They could do things like lock the camera angle so survivors cant have 36o drone view advantage

    But they wont.

Light pole needs to be removed yes

And I would put natura regression on all gens and exit gates but make it slight.

As well as powering up the killer kick to knock 10%-15% off as base

The only change that is needed is a change to the map sizes and layouts.

thats why killers have a perk that helps with that. Use it.

In what world is making generators hard to find a good idea? You guys really want to stomp bad survivors harder while still losing to good survs huh?

    1) Even if they remove the lamps it will only affect bad survivors, which we all know those are who the devs cater too. It will be the same as old ruin totem. They can add as many different spawning locations. Eventually people will memorize them.

I personally think the gens speed should be adjusted depending on the killer being used. High mobility killers it should stay the same. Slower killers, killers that need time to setup or killers whose power doesnt help them in a chase should get gens that take longer to repair.

If the survivors are repairing a lot of gens in a short amount of time the entity should slow them down. Vice versa if the killer is steam rolling the entity should speed them up.

Last if the killer is chasing someone the entity should slow down the gens. We all know the best time to repair a gen is when someone is being chased. The killer is occupied so the entity affects gen repairs.

None of this will ever happen but it's good to brain storm.

    They dont.

And I shouldn't have to run perks on something that should be basekit anyway

I need my perks to have successful build

Okay now imagine a world where you have all those aura reading perks, all those informations about how the map generated and a third person view. You seem to focus too much on the other side advantage rather than acknoweldging your own.

Sadly, in the last q&a devs said they wont change the gen speed quoting "Gen speed is okay and don't need a change" - ahem.. Nerf toolboxes and change the maps. Btw if you change the skillchecks odds, this could get pretty bad, imagine a good survivor getting more skill checks and hit only greats, the gen speed will be worse than ever. 2 survivors on a gen with a toolbox and the add on that increase skill check odds + 25% after the change, its incredible how fast you would do a gen

The game is heavily incredibly weighted In favor of survivors by game mechanics.

Perks only barely mitigate it and even then killers only get 4 slots where survivors get 12 every game so...

It used to be, I don't think it is anymore. Don't get me wrong, Clown against optimal survivors is a painful experience if you don't play it perfectly but nowadays except for maps and maybe gen speed nothing is really working against killers as much as people believe it.
