Unfair matchmaking
So I'm an absolute noob at this, one of the worst players than you can imagine like every other new player.
For some reason this game puts me up against 4 pro survivors. 2 3 4 generators gone before you even see a survivor.
Why has this game not got skill based match making? Why are you boosting the stats of pro players even more putting them up against noob killers?
For some reason you you the player gets punished for DC on the game that was unfair in the first place.

I've just gone into a lobby as a standard killer at rank 16 and had to go up against a rank 5, 8, 6 and 9 survivor with purple perks against my green perks.
How is this possibly fair?
They get an easy game to pad theirs stats why I get absolutely slaughtered? Who actually is in charge of match making in this game because they're doing an absolutely terrible job at it.

Agreed, matchmaking is totally horrible. I'm rank 13 and I just got matched up against a SWF with people ranked 2, 2,3, and 6. That's completely bonkers and not even remotely fair. SWF already have a ridiculous advantage but to have to go against people literally 11 ranks higher with probably hundreds more hours in the game is absolutely rubbish.

One common criticism on BHVR is that they only care about new players. This here is proof that they don't care about new players. Fixing the matchmaking isn't hard. It used to be ok, then they broke rank reset and somehow matchmaking decided that a brand new rank 16 Legion should be matched with 4 purple ranks in an SWF with 12,000 hours experience between them.
Here BHVR, let me fix matchmaking with some pseudo-code:

Then no
End if

I love playing as killer in this game when it's a balanced match. However I only get balanced matches once in every 3 or so games. My killer rank is 16 and in the last 4 matches I played I got no kills. 3 of the 4 games had 3 survivors better than rank 10 (usually around the 5-8 range) the 4th match I had 2 rank 5 survivors and 2 rank 10 survivors. Needless to say I didn't have any fun whatsoever. I often get at least 3 kills every time it's a balanced match (however my "balanced" matches usually have 1 or 2 people that are 6 or so ranks higher than me).
Anyways, this matchmaking issue is incredibly frustrating. When I first started noticing this issue (my first match as killer against 2 rank 5s, an 8 and a 12) I looked up how matchmaking is SUPPOSED to work. Supposedly, it's supposed to match a team of survivors with a killer where the killer's rank is close to the rank of the highest rank survivor. Now I understand the three major elements that are considered in matchmaking (fairness, time, ping[location]). So, I understand that as a way to keep time down there should be some leeway when it comes to fairness BUT there was also and explanation for this. Again, SUPPOSEDLY when matching a killer with survivors they start searching for a survivor that is the same rank as the killer and widen the rank window til they find a fitting team. But it's only supposed to be able to go up or down by 6 ranks as a cap, but that doesn't happen.. ever!
I have maybe seen one match of my 10 or matches as killer where the highest rank survivor was within 6 ranks of my rank. There is usually at least one survivor that is far higher level than me.
All of this being said, I really think the way that the matchmaking is explained would work really well if it's how it worked. If as a killer you could only go against survivor teams where the highest rank survivor as at MOST 6 ranks higher than you then the matchmaking in this game would be much better and the game as a whole would be much more enjoyable.

If I play as killer I get no balanced games what so ever. It's always someone good at the game with 12,000 hours of gameplay.
If a game has no match making then the game imo is dead.
If the match making carries on like this. I reckon I will stop playing until it's addressed correctly.
As someone said above the coding is easy they just refuse to do it and instead implement DC penalties because of how dead the game was.

Matchmaking has been broken for a while. As killer, you'll pretty much only get red rank survivors. The devs have said they're aware of the issue, but they don't plan on fixing it until the new matchmaking system is in place, which will rely on a new secret rank, and will hide the current rank in the post-game screen. They also refuse to discuss how the new rank will be determined, or how they'll do anything to mitigate the problems caused by there being far higher ratio of survivors to killers than there should be.
So yeah, things are busted, the devs know, nobody knows when it will be fixed, or how the devs actually want to fix it.

Matchmaking is totally unfair (today pic). I hope they will fix it, this was the reason I stopped it a few months ago in Rank 4

This needs to be addressed. It's almost a constant. I just got worked over by a level 1 when I'm lvl 16. I figured it out after they ran me for 3 gens. Its irritating beyond belief. Dev's need to pay attention to this now!! Read this dev's!! I have pictures of the matching from days ago as well

Same issue as the above. I'm a rank 15 killer, and have for the last 4 games gone up against rank 2-4 survivors, who run absolute circles around me.
It's not fun when it's just so unbalanced. It's ruined my desire to play the game at all. Hope they manage to fix it for new killers that come in moving forward, otherwise they're gonna have a significantly one-sided playerbase.
