Maybe reduce amount of pallets?
simply to lessen the outrageous looping. how many are there anyway on the entire map? 15 pallets? thats a lot of looping potential.
Where am i supposed to find the time to deal with that when gens are done in very few minutes? Gen rushing + endless pallets and a guy that knows where each pallet is = thats ONE guy that will at least never die. if everyone knows = im just done.

It depends on the map. 15 pallets on a map like Macmillian or Azarov's aren't bad. But, a map like the game is terrible because of the safety of said pallets.

Imo looping isn't a problem, it's the strength of a looping that's a problem. Imo one thing that would make looping a lot weaker is either removing the red stain, or making the perk Beast of Prey base kit for all killers. I mean yeah sure killer can just walk backwards but on some maps the red stain goes through or can be seen through walls

Yeah loops are more an issue. Getting a pallet thrown on you sucks but going in a circle with no other variables in between 5 times with a pallet thrown on you for punctuation is horse #########.

The only maps i believe should lose some pallets would be blood lodge and The Game like you stated.

Lets just face it.
i have never, as in NEVER, met a killer, nor seen a streamer who was a killer saying: I absolutely love to be looped". and i get that its a skill thing (im just mediocre) + perk skill (i have very few teachables).
Loops are horrible, imo mainly due to pallets. That is my opinion, its not the length of it, its the Pallet i hate. Sure there are those small Microloops which doesnt matter but generally speaking, i just hate pallets. i dont care about windows, i care about pallets. And i care because you can go from 0 gens done to 5 gens done, in a single chase due to all those pallets.
You chase a guy, that guy runs from pallet loop to pallet loop and sometimes i keep chasing them JUST to see where this will go. how many pallets can i break in a single game? how long would i be chasing this person? ive broken over 10 pallets in a single chase. Sure im being outplayed, i 100% understands that, but even so.
and those chases always gets extended by Dead hard or some other sprint perk + a good DS as well, so it didnt even END with those pallets.
I like looking for survivors, and i like chasing around after them, but i DONT like running from one pallet loop to the next. i HATE the fact that seemingly some survivors knows exactly where all pallets are across the entire map. they just homing missile towards the next one then we're back again. Why arent pallets COMPLETELY random? no survivor should know "where'ish" they are. they shouldnt be able to know, at all untill they see it.
Some of those largest loops, i cant mind game those so i dont even bother. i just run around till they drop a pallet, then on to the next.
I dont mind it the first few times but when im chasing a guy and all 5 gens are done, then it makes me realize just how sad the state of this game really is. Whether thats due to the strength and numbers of loops in the actual game, or just because Gens are rushed too fast i dont know. its probably a combination of both, given that Gen times are already pretty cancer the way they are now.
Yea sure im not supposed to keep chasing that little guy but still. sometimes i just run towards two pallet loops and i know he runs to the next and i know it, im like: yea.. humans sometimes do things they know harm themselves but they do it anyway, like cutting etc. thats how i feel when i chase after these loopers. i know its stupid and it breaks my game but i just keep doing it out of self loathing. out of anger.
Over all, would it be too much to ask for, that the developers removed the pallets? or at least without half of them? Looping with pallets sucks. And no, not the micro loops, regular pallet loops. I dont mind looping when pallets arent a thing because eventually i WILL catch up. but With a pallet? the chase takes a hard break, and it starts over.
No killer likes these loops. Many good killers can probably deal with them, but ive never heard a killer say: yay i like long pallet loops", please drop some more pallets because i have PLENTY of time to kill you all".

Loops with pallets are a problem because there are ######### ton of them, and gens are rushed insanely much. Those two are a volatile coctail.
Pallets (which there are way too many of) extends the game way too much considering how short the game CAN be and often are. Often when you have someone looping super well the rest gen rush. So thats just the worst of both worlds right there.
It makes me want to uninstall the game. actually thats why i uninstalled it in the first place a year ago.

Ormond is the biggest pallet problem in the game. I swear I broke 18 pallets and there was STILL a good 10 left.

i was LITERALLY just pallet looped in this stage which caused me to write my thread. ive been pallet looped before, but this made me very frustrated.
Being pallet looped like this is the reason wars starts.

I know the feeling. I keep getting survivors who use Ormond offerings, then bring along their toolboxes. The second I see the snowy map appear, I pretty much accept defeat because screw that map. One single map I fear going to as killer.

It's ridiculous because most of them are safe pallets too, plus the size. It's probably my most hated map as killer, with Badham coming in second.
0 -
actually i kinda like what they do with newer maps: have many pallets but therefore have them unsafe.
imo they should rework the older maps to work like that and it'd be a lot better.
0 -
what? you like to have more pallets? how does more pallets make the game better? it extends the already ridiculous loops this game has and the insane chases you can get
0 -
the pallets are unsafe.
you can mindgame them and get hits, which rewards skillful gameplay.
0 -
yea... they are not unsafe. maybe for rank 1 players, but for the rest of us they are not. you literally just read how people hated the Ormond estate map due to the amount of pallets and pallet loop sizes.
you are the only person ive met that says that pallets are great, so ill take what you ay as a grain of salt.
Maybe the "pros" like pallets, not that ive ever met em, but the rest of us, you know, majority of the killers, probably dont. at least not when the loop becomes too strong and long.
Some loops are almost impossible to mind game. it might "reward" skillful gameplay, but that just means it rewards the best, and makes the mediocre and worse players lose the game entirely.

ormond is NOT a map designed by the new standart.
i am talking about maps like Hawkins Lab or the Dead Dawg Saloon here.
you should be easily able to mindgame the pallets on these maps, even as a medicore gamer.

There's a difference between a safe and unsafe pallet. A map like ormond or the auto haven, or the badham maps have those loops where you can see exactly what the killer is doing. There is no mind game there, you can only loop it until they throw it, then break it. A map like lerys or hawkins on the other hand, they have unsafe pallets.
0 -
not sure what map Dead Dawg Saloon is but Hawkins Lab is an okay map ill give you that.

the Dead Dawg Saloon is the upcomming map with the Chains of Hate DLC.
its been accessable on the PTB, but its not yet released.

"Where am i supposed to find the time to - "
That's the point to focus on. Not the pallets, pallets are fine. new survivors already struggle as is, less pallets, shorter chases, less time to learn.
You want the game to last longer, without simply making gens even slower. You want more time to deal with things.

Sanctum of wraith has 1 safe pallet I can think of the rest are jungle gyms and shack
0 -
well, to be fair the Sanctum of Wrath wasnt created after the "new" rule, since the Yamaoka Estate has been created before that and it mostly reuses already existing tiles.
now, i'm not saying all jungle gyms would be 100% safe, but most of the time you're gonna waste a LOT more time trying to mindgame them instead of just breaking the pallet. they are quite safe, if a survivor knows how to run them.
Sanctum of Wrath is build like the old maps where it has less pallets but therefore they are a lot more safe. (though it kinda follows the Yamaoka rule of "hide or die", since it really doesnt have many looping areas - considering how many loops e.g. the Coldwind Farm has in a close proximity to each other)

Yes, thats it... the minimal number of pallets in a match is 8, but we got way more than that.
