Items Stop Working And Doesn't Drop When Done

I am running DbD on PC Windows 10.

There have been several times when I start using an item, than stop, and try to use it again - it does not work anymore.

I would be repairing a generator, stop because the killer is coming, and then try to resume again using the item and it stop working.


There have also been times where the item depletes but doesn't drop from my inventory, I actually have to drop it myself.

This is a recent design change, you can find more information in the patch notes. Survivors do not lose their items anymore but they lose the add ons even if escaping the match, except when Ace in the Hole perk is used by survivors.
