Dear Dead By Daylight: Ghostface Option 2 Changes (Excerpt)
Hello again,
I uploaded a document (and accompanying forum post) titled Dear Dead by Daylight about a month ago which has been getting incredible feedback from you guys here in the community, but the biggest suggestion was to split all the change ideas into multiple documents to make them easily digestible.
Today, I bring you suggestions for changing Ghostface, part 2. I mentioned in my last article that my Ghostface changes had 2 versions, one that modified the original power and one that gave him a new power. This is more reminiscent of the movies even if this Ghostface is based on the costume. Do let me know which one you prefer in the comments.
If you want to know my reasoning or check out the rest of the changes, I'll leave a link to the main post as well as the previous article. Please leave constructive criticism and/or support, you're feedback is invaluable. Thanks again,
NorMak3
P.S. This list isn't perfect and I may change things on the main document based on new data, but I don't plan on changing anything on these fragment posts, so if something seems off, make sure to check the main document or comments to make sure it isn't already fixed.
"New Power: Cell Phone. He has a cellphone that he can use to harass his targets, distracting them, and leaving them vulnerable. He can call any generator of his choice and if no one answers it within 3 rings (5 seconds) it will reveal the auras of any survivors within a default range of 25 meters of that gen for 3 seconds.
If someone answers, they will have to complete a task with no skill checks that lasts 5 seconds. They cannot leave the generator, nor work on it while answering the phone. If the survivor hangs up before the task is finished, their aura, and their aura alone, is revealed to Ghostface for 5 seconds. If Ghostface hangs up before the 3 rings are up or before the task is over, his aura is revealed to everyone for 2 seconds. (There is a 3 second period where he is taking out the phone that he can hang up during which it won’t reveal him and he gets no cooldown. During this time, the people around the generator will hear the crescendo noise that is usually made when he’s about to be snapped out)
While talking on the phone, Ghostface moves at only 100% speed and the survivor on the phone is afflicted with the oblivious status effect. If Ghostface attacks during a phone call, it hangs up as if he simply stopped the call (revealing him) unless he performs an interrupt in which there is no penalty.
The power has a cooldown of 30 seconds if someone answers the phone and completes the task, 20 seconds if a survivor hangs up before the task is complete, 40 seconds if Ghostface hangs up before the task is complete, and 20 seconds if no one answers.
No matter if they answer or not, Ghost face learns how much of that generator has been completed based on the revealing of the intensity of the generator’s aura.
- Consequential changes: Change the mori back to taking a snapshot with the mobile phone and change the addons to the ones below.

Compiling your success makes you proud and boosts your confidence./ Slightly increases movement speed during a call (105%)
- Olsen’s Scrapbook (U)/ A spiral notebook filled with stained, handwritten entries. The journal details different equipment used to stalk victims. Going through your past methods triggers thrilling memories./ Moderately increases movement speed during a call (110%)
- Olsen’s Wallet (R)/ Olsen's wallet holds thirty dollars in cash, a video club membership card, and a folded picture of Olsen's first Roseville victim. Carrying incriminating evidence boosts your excitement and resolve./ Considerably increases movement speed during a call (115%)
- Walleye’s Matchbook (C)/ A sheet of matches from Walleyes, a small bar in Northern Roseville. A victim's phone number is scribbled in blue./ Slightly increases recovery rate of phone calls (10% increased rate of recovery)
- Olsen’s Address Book (U)/ Filled in blunt, blue crabbed writing. All the Roseville murder victims are listed there, along with their phone number and address./ Moderately increases recovery rate of phone calls (15% increased rate of recovery)
- Chewed Pen (R)/ A blue pen with a chewed cap with a familiar teal color. Fades quickly on skin for quick notes when you don’t have paper./ Considerably increases recovery rate of phone calls (20% increased rate of recovery)

But what they should ask is, who's next." — The Ghost Face
- Philly (C)/ A stolen camera from a victim of Olsen in Philadelphia, where he worked before. The film inside captured his last night in the city./ Slightly increase duration of the reveal of the answering survivor if they hang up early (6 seconds)/ "Gotta love Philly: keeps giving and giving and I don't wanna forget any of it". — The Ghost Face
- Telephoto Lens (U)/ A manual focus lens to remain undetected while taking pictures from afar./ Moderately increase duration of the reveal of the answering survivor if they hang up early (7 seconds)

- Phone Plan (U)/ The Entity has manipulated the energy in the air in order to mimic your old phone plan. - System Update (R)/ Your phone has been given a new update for faster calls./ Moderately (1.5 seconds shorter) decreases the time the phone rings before revealing nearby survivors. (Sounds like 90s high pitched ringing)
- New Microchip (VR)/ Your phone’s basic functions have been upgraded, courtesy of The Entity./ Considerably (2.25 seconds shorter) decreases the time the phone rings before revealing nearby survivors (Sounds like a digitized version of the Wraith’s bell)
- Recorded Message (UR)/ A tape with your signature phone call recorded to talk for you. Not as fun, but helpful when crunched for time./ When you call a generator, you immediately hang up and aren’t revealed. You can move at normal speed, attack without hanging up, and will reveal surrounding survivors if the phone isn’t answered or answering survivors if they hang up early. You do not hear if the phone is answered or not./ “If you’re going to leave me on voicemail, why shouldn’t I?” —The Ghost Face
- Ghost Face Caught On Tape (UR)/ A tape obtained by Olsen to write an article that terrorised Roseville./ While a generator is being called, all skill checks made on the generator are tremendously difficult skill checks. Additionally, if the survivor hangs up, the generator immediately regresses./ "In this footage, a dark figure is seen entering a house late at night in Northern Roseville, Florida. The police were called the next morning to report a murder in the area. Lock your doors: a Killer is in our midst, roaming freely, like a ghost in the night." — The Roseville Gazette
- Achievements: Change the requisites of “Totally Vulnerable” to “Interrupt 30 survivors while they are in a phone call.”"
