Deathslinger or Oni?

Member Posts: 830

Hey, i have 9000 shards and i want to buy one killer, and i was thinking Oni or Deathslinger. I don't care about their perks, i just wanna have fun playing.

I like oni, but his power is kinda hard to get early game, if you don't get an early hit it's gonna be rough.

Deathslinger seems very fun to play, and hitting survivors with the gun is pretty satisfying, but i don't like that he's 110. I like playing spirit and hag, but with them i can teleport and phase around the map and pressure gens, with deathslinger its a problem :p.

Opinions? I don't want to waste them after i worked a lot of hours grinding them

Oni is MUCH stronger and incredibly fun to play.

If you can't aim don't bothered with deathslinger. His movement is slow and you need to able to have a good angle. Nonetheless i still enjoy him. Oni relied on survivors staying injured but like you said if you can't get an early hit it gonna be hard. Pick your poison

They're both fun, but have very different experiences.

Tromping around in Demon mode is just a ton of fun.

But so is snagging Survivors at range who think they've gotten away.

Watch a bunch of streamers playing those Killers and see which appeal to you more!

If you're a big FPS player and have amazing accuracy, I'd go for Deathslinger. He's scary good if you've got the aim.

Otherwise, Oni. Even if you do get the Deathslinger, I'd still recommend getting the Oni later on too. He's a lot of fun, and zooming around downing people feels great.

why not just play Billy or Huntress ?

Well the true question is, do you wanna be a space cowboy who plays a lot of fps or a honor or rather not so honorable samurai who speeds across the battlefield after channeling the power of the blood god by collecting blood orbs?

Oni might have the strongest ability in the game. He’s probably my favorite killer right now.

A tough decision. Both can be owed by good teams and survivor sided maps and their perks aren't too amazing either. I would say to go for Oni however, he seems stronger than Deathslinger and Nemesis + Play With Your Food is a pretty good combo on killers like Plague or Cannibal.

Because Billy is too basic and Huntress too hard to learn.

I vote Oni! I personally love going against him because it's honestly terrifying as a survivor once he gets his power and goes BWEAROROEROROER 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 When I first played on my sister's account, we tried him out (he had just been released), and he was fun even though I had never played the game before.

Oni. As someone who considers him my secondary main, I vote Oni.

Maybe this is just because I have no fps experience, but Deathslinger feels a little clunky to me. Don't get me wrong, I like him, but I find hunting people down and clobbering them as a demon-ogre-samurai much more fun.

Deathslinger is fun to play but he's far weaker than oni arguably even when you can aim since objects destroy your chain easily

Personally, and I know many won't agree, but I much prefer Deathslingers from an enjoyment factor. I don't know if I was just too used to Billy or if it's his club in Oni mode that for some reason ######### with my sight, but I have a difficult time playing Oni and getting that same value

Meanwhile, I'm getting a very strong kill average with DS after having put some good time in. His power is just so good for sniping folks out, and the pressure aiming that gun at a survivor is powerful if you're confident in your ability to land shots, because the survivor knowing you hit shots is enough to keep them from hugging certain loops. He also can get value in situations Huntress can't (certain short loops are awesome for him, and pretty much has stealth as well, slightly mitigating his slower speed (though not much, don't get it twisted). I've found him to be a great killer if you can take advantage of his ability to get quick downs and control space in a chase. If you, like me, still crack up at the idea of literally just shooting a survivor in the face, imagining the shock on the other players actual face when you actually got a great longshot on them, you will have fun with him.
