I think the problem stems from his special heartbeat/chase music. All the killers with special music seem to share this problem too. Oni, Demo, and now Doc all feel like their TR is about 6m smaller than it should be, and that's because the special music doesn't match the dB of the standard music at the same range. Since Deathslinger has a TR of 24m this effect is more pronounced. Throw in M&A with Whiskey Bottle and he might as well be a stealth killer.
BHVR should really review all these killers to make sure the dB matches the standard music at the same range. Considering that the plan is to eventually give every killer their own music, this problem will only get worse. I'm all for special music, it's fun, but not if it means severe inconsistencies between killers who are supposed to have the same TR.

The whole "being in chase" is totally irrelevant with regards to Deep Wound. I watched the video @OtakuBurrito and the person who was being shot at downed themselves because they weren't running, that's what causes the Deep Wound timer to go down. If you notice when they were shot and were on the chain the Deep Wound timer pauses. They stood at the pallet instead of getting away, which when you are in Deep Wound is not the way to play because you're just giving the down to the killer, there was plenty of opportunity for the Zarina to run away, they chose not to and went into dying state - it was not good play.

He's definitely a stealth killer, even without stacking the perk/add-ons.
And it really shows in when the game detects a chase. As him, it's so infuriating.

I find it hella funny that not a single person except the ones who can see something wrong with this watched the entire clip especially when is prob just a basic bug....
1.i was in chase with him the whole time you could see it on the side
2.yes the bar goes down slowly well you are still inchase with him but it shouldnt go down drastically everytime you shoot someone and i highlyyyyyyyyy doubt yall did anything other than look at the clip oh go UMMMMMMMMM nah we not finna look at this, not my problem
3.oh and i love all the *ds and unbreakable makes me trash* yet the meta build is dead hard.adren.ds and borrowed or unbreakable but you know go off. come back when you are actually rank 1 with troll builds like for the people/autodidact use for the people in the killers face for face and spend alot of time trying to dpip and still hitting rank 1 because its boring being red rank ^-^
as i said its prob just a bug idrc either way i was asked for the use of my clip so i gave it.... i doubt any of you will do anything to fix it anyways sense this isn't a game its a bug with gameplay in it...
sincerely: we don't know how to do our jobs but we did a pretty good job so far :>

You really need to learn how Deep Wound works.
Making stuff up doesn't work on these forums, sorry.
Pretty good Survivor, so far :D

You read my mind...

You are my new favorite person.

Why not? Deep wounds is trash and a joke of a status effect. basically a survivor buff, since it gives the killer the illusion of doing something, you see.

uh, it's called alternative facts.

You are sacrificing gen protection for stealth. I wouldn't call him a stealth killer.

I watched the video.
- Being in a chase is nothing to do with Deep Wound - The mend bar of Deep Wound only goes down when you stop running, has nothing to do with being in a chase.
- The bar didn't go down at all when shot at - it pauses, I suggest you watch the video again. It went down only when the Zarina was standing at the pallet, not doing anything, it was bad play and it showed lack of knowledge of the game mechanic.
- People are free to choose all sorts of builds, it's their choice - no argument from me there.
It's not a bug - this is intended game design. Deep Wound does not go down when the Survivor is running or mending - it also doesn't go down when you are shot with the harpoon and are on the chain.
I hope those answer your points.

here, since you dont want to believe the others, a link to the wiki.
please note that it specifically says the timer will tick down unless you are running or mending. it is entirely irrelevant whether you are in a chase with the killer or not.

If deathslinger want to be sneaky let him. Don't ruined his dream of being a stealth killer.

Doesn't the mend bar goes down when survivors tend to keep vaulting?
0 -
yes @katoptris because they're not running.

Yes I understand what the wiki says. And after testing it in KYF the bar does go down but it does so much more slowly than it did with Deathslinger despite the looping scenarios being the same. The key difference is one seemed to account for the fact a chase was going on and the other had chase constantly broken. This included getting into lockers while the time timer appeared to drastically slow when in range of a killer in comparison to the rate it occurs on deathslinger. However as Mandy said chase has no effect on deep wound only whether or not you’re running.
So what I’ve gathered is killers can abuse deep wound and force you into scenarios in which they can constantly pressure you were you will not be able to mend and in the case of deathslinger not receive chase points despite being actively in chase. While Legion may not be able to abuse this scenario as often as gunslinger can because they aren’t range I understand now that my best option for playing against him is to avoid him at all costs and leave my teammates to die while hooked since his terror radius won’t proc borrowed time. If I am hooked it’s better to kill myself on hook rather than be forced to play a game in which I won’t be rewarded compensation for my efforts in the form of blood points.
While I won’t be joining one of the many players that revoked their EULA because they find Deathslinger isn’t properly executed as a killer I will be more mindful in the future when dealing with him by not dealing with him at all.

Actually hilarious thread.

Hilarious.
Nobody forces anyone to stand in front of a pallet with Deep Wound for 30 seconds when they could be running.
That's bad play.

I hope they give him a silencer add-on, someday.

I’ve noticed this also. Yes everyone can say there are perks/add ons to reduce the terror radius but I’ve had the killer come up behind me with no terror radius at all. I’m not talking about a reduced terror radius...he’s had none.
someone said it had to do with his weapon. I can’t remember exactly what they said but it was to do with weather he was walking around with it up or something.

He feels like ghost face with a gun lol
2 -
He literally has a sound queue that plays when he's aiming at you.
1 -
I could go on for hours about that damn gun of his, but the main thing that I wish was changed about him is his TR music. I think it just needs to be louder and more obvious. Like a more noticeable start to it. Listen to my boi Mikey's terror radius for comparison. It's noticeable the instant you're inside it, giving you a decent amount of time to react and to know how close he is. Deathslinger's is really quiet with no build-up until he's literally chasing you. It's really annoying having no idea where in his 16m radius he is, or how close he is (I say he has a 16m terror radius because you'd be an idiot to not run monitor on this guy, and I haven't come across a single yeehaw man who didn't have it)

I gauge his proximity on the loudness of the screeching sound, hasn't steered me wrong.

So the solution is to DC over an upper midtier killer because your friend made a bad play and walked around the same loop when they were inflicted with Deep Wound? Just run and boom, problem solved. Outpositioned? Well, darn, that's DBD for you, sometimes you get outpositioned into a deadzone.

yeah...
it'd make a good replacement for his iridescent coin.
