BBQ & Chili Bloodpoint Bonus should be baseline for all killers and survivors
I made this topic in the general discussion board but figured it'd probably be better here.
Bloodpoint gains are too low both in general for all roles.
The bloodpoint bonus aspect of BBQ and Chili (Each time a Survivor is hooked for the first time, gain a 25 % stack-able bonus to all Bloodpoint gains up to a maximum of 50/75/100%) should be removed from the perk and made baseline for all killers, and survivors should gain a similar bonus for a different game action, such as unhooking other players.
BBQ and Chili is a solid perk on its own without the BP gain, it's nothing amazing but it can be worth a perk slot on certain killers but the BP bonus effect makes it a near necessity for killers looking to level up a new character or reach prestige. The BP bonus being a part of a perk makes it so that players have to decide whether they want bloodpoints or try a new build. Strong gameplay is made of players making build decisions but this decision isn't interesting or fun. It can just lead to disappointing moments if you try a new build and come out of the match with 20k BP as opposed to the 40k you're used to receiving.
Having this effect be baseline encourages killers to divide their time amongst the survivors and discourages tunneling and allows for greater perk diversity while leveling a new killer rather than feeling forced to use 3 perk builds and BBQ. It rewards playing well and teaches a killer to be more aware of the status of each survivor.
The downsides to this change are minor but not nonexistent. This change would cause BBQ and Chili to see less use, sure. But I believe that at high levels the killers that use BBQ and Chili are using it for the information gained in the match rather than the BP gain.
Those who purchased the Cannibal DLC just for BBQ & Chili may be frustrated that their BP bonus perk is no longer necessary for farming. I totally understand that. Although I think the Cannibal is a solid DLC character and all of his perks have some use, I too bought him just for the BP gains on BBQ. But I feel that this change improves the game's health and makes leveling up a new killer less daunting. It also allows you to practice a killer while you level them, instead of being forced to gain BP on a killer you already have BBQ unlocked, and then investing a bunch of points in the killer you're not playing.
Thanks for reading! Let me know if you have any feedback or ideas on what the survivor version of the bonus effect could be.
