Suggestion: Remove the hurtbox of survivors on hooks
Quick TL;DR:
- Don't remove the hitbox, just the ability for killers to go through with a full swing + blade wipe animation on hooked survivors.
- This will solve the issue of swinging through a rescuer to somehow hit the hooked survivor, reducing frustration on the killer's side.
- It will also mean that killers can't BM hooked survivors as easily, reducing frustration on the survivors' side.
Full post:
Not the hitbox; killers and survivors should still be able to collide with them, but killers should not be able to hit a hooked survivor. There simply isn't a reason for this to happen - I remember during one PTB (I think it was the Stranger Things chapter?) that this change was implemented, and it was great! Then it got reverted for some reason. I assume it was a bug, but honestly, this is a bug I think a lot of the community would really like to see.
Primarily, this gets rid of those times where you can swing through a rescuer and somehow hit the person on the hook. I don't know if this is auto-aim, aim-dressing, or just wonky hitboxes, but it absolutely does happen and it's a source of annoyance for killers because it allows the rescuer to get a free unhook they should not have gotten. Regardless of what the issue actually is, removing a hooked survivor's hurtbox will fix it - you don't have to identify what exactly causes this issue, because removing the hurtbox addresses all of them.
As a secondary thing, it prevents BM on hook. This doesn't matter to a lot of players, but honestly? Because neither killers or survivors benefit from being able to hit hooked survivors, I think that for the sake of players who do mind it, removing the hurtbox could potentially reduce some of the anger and toxicity that can ruin a player's experience. (Especially since hitting the hook implies facecamping, which even new survivors hate.)
Would love to hear feedback!

I'd rather it not change. Otherwise you have 0 chance to unhook someone if the killer is there. A killer KNOWS they have to either wait for the unhooked, go for a grab, or risk losing both to hit the unhooker, or if done too fast or carelessly hit the hooked.
It's a tradeoff that a killer knows and has to decide to risk or not.
Swinging "through" and hitting the hooked is lag or a bug. We both know if you land a hit DIRECTLY on them, they take it.
I say this from playing both sides, as a survivor, ######### that. I wouldnt save anyone again unless it was 100% risk free knowing they have 0 chance to hit the hung; and as killer, I would just start grabbing unhookers nonstop with no worry about wasting a hit on the hooked. Theres literally no downside. It's a free hit wherever I would swing.
I think it should stay. It adds a small amount risk if you're not paying attention, for either side.
Lastly, BM on hook? Really? Most killers hit once to stop screaming. Any more and they're just salty. But even so, why tf does that bother you? It changes NOTHING except show you the killer is pissy. People need to stop letting in game taunts bother you IRL and using that as a marker for balance and changes.

This is easily avoidable.
