Toolbox and toolbox addons are depressing.

Oh how the mighty toolbox has fallen. I realize that toolboxes had to be nerfed due to having the ability to do 2-3 gens with the right addons but now getting toolboxes in chests and being forced to buy toolboxes and nearly useless toolbox addons in the bloodweb in order to get to the next bloodweb is just depressing. I honestly think the way they are now they might as well just be removed and replaced with a different item entirely. Curious to see what everyone else thinks.

    I mean, they are not completely useless, you can still use them to sabo and they can boost your gens in certain scenarios

    Add-ons though, yeah, they are pretty crappy, the instructions went from decent to meme tier.

    Don't get me started on instructions. Look how they massacred my boy... ;-;

    I don't even bother with toolboxes anymore. I try to avoid them on the bloodweb with the flashlights.

    I don't bring them into a match all the time but if I find one in a chest... I'll use it on a Gen

    Toolboxes went from useful at the start to useful in the mid to late game

    Also one of the wrench addons is a perk...

    I have to agree.

    They could have made them useful in other survivor objectives, such as Gate Switches... or even more creative with gens where we could have add ons that “tag” that gen as almost completed or something.

    At this point I think the forum is just a place for butthurt survivors to complain and place the blame on everything but themselves.

    I don't know.. when i play as survivor, i never felt the need to use items and add-ons at all.

    Most of the time items from the chest is enough for the whole game.

    They are much weaker now, but I think that was needed. Having an item affect the main objective so much was just terrible for the game's balance.

    However, I don't think they are useless either. They still shave off a few seconds off a generator, which can stil be important in a game like DBD, where almost every second counts.

    Not only survivors, that's for sure.

    But forums are there for people to express their opinions and issues with this game. And complaining about toolboxes is nothing compared to other complaints I have seen on these forums.

    Eh I don’t mind the toolbox nerf as much as the add ons. The add ons suck now :(

    but the killer gets to keep the same OP add ons without change? Psssh that’s what’s nonsense.

    @Dzeikor

    Sometimes not saying anything is probably the best thing you can do if you don’t have anything Constructive to add to the discussion.

    Not every killer got op addon just like not every addon on the survivor item are op you need to see both side in this scenario

    Toolbox are still strong sabo squad is a thing and the speed burst can make the difference between you finishing a gen or the killer coming for the kick

    The change to the toolboxes followed the Ruin nerf, perhaps to balance out the early game. To think that this mess could have been avoided in the first place if Ruin was left alone.

    You have to use the charges wisely, i work on gens normally and if im at 75% and i see a survivor just get downed, i start using the toolbox to quickly finish the last 25% before the killer gets a chance to use PGTW

    Commodious toolbox with wire spool and socket swivels/BNP is still decent to bring in to matches. Repair the first 25-30 % of the gen normally and if the killer is not close or is occupied you can repair the rest of the gen in a blink of an eye. If the 2 other survivors not getting chased know how to do gens that's 2-3 gens under 2 minutes. Yellow and brown toolboxes are better to be left for sabo. Engineer's and mechanic's toolboxes are quite useless tho, if found in chest they can act as mini BNPs at the end game.

    I agree,they really could have been a bit more creative when changing them.Now i don't see a reason to bring a toolbox at all.
