Can something be done for auto-failing skillchecks?

I bet it happened to everyone at least once: you use a medkit and when it's almost exhausted you hear the skillcheck audio cue, the medkit finishes all the charges, the skillcheck never appears and you scream like an idiot because it failed automatically. It also happens when stopping repairing a generator and the skillcheck sound start in that same exact moment.

Since Overcharge skillchecks don't work this way, and instead let you hit the skillcheck even if you're not on the gen anymore, I think all skillchecks should work the same way.

It's been requested multiple times, but I haven't seen any comments from the devs. I agree it should work like overcharge skill checks. It would also be fair to killers, because if the survivor releases when the killer is near and they fail the skill check, they would have to go through he fail animation.

I think if you let go of a gen and fail the skillcheck that you didn't see just heard is also stupid. Like on Overcharge, if you hear the skillcheck, it should just happen even if you let go. Just don't grant progress or remove progress if you let go

This is a great idea. I was talking about the same idea with some friends of mine.

Of course they should work this way. It was reported multiple times already that Skill Checks happen and auto-fail when standing up from a Gen or other actions, but never was anything answered by the Devs.

It even was fine for a few weeks, but recently they started happening again.

If the Overcharge skill check is already on your screen before you let go, if you let go then, you'll fail the skill check.

But, yeah. Not having the last-second healing skill check be infeasible to hit would be great.
