The Devs do all this changes to favor killers and they still complain...
Comments

Lets say that is true (noed gets more complaints).
Devs still arent doing anything about it, so yeah you just proved OP's point.
0 -
No, my comment just proves that the Devs are balancing the game to be fair to both sides. Killers were being balanced in favor of making it more enjoyable for Survivors when they butchered Ruin. Well, the result of that was fast games and lots of escapes, which led to the Developers decision to balance the maps. Cause and effect. These changes aren't meant to "favor" anyone, they're meant to make it enjoyable to both sides as possible. Tell me, did Killers enjoy getting looped on indefinite loops that they could do nothing about? Infinites should have never been in the game in the first place. Why should loops favor only one side? Survivors already have the advantage with pallets and fast vaults, while Killers get slowed down when they vault and break pallets. Both sides also have the option to outplay one another with mind games.
This thread is just a complaint about complaining.
0 -
Map size was a problem before ruin even existed so you're wrong on that.
This patch however only made the problems worse, bad killers are now fine on the new maps but this also made good killers with movement bonus god-tier and way unbalanced making the game even more skewed towards killers.
It is no wonder deathgarden is a dead game tbh.
0 -
I didn't specifically mention map size, maps as a whole were unbalanced and the devs have finally gotten to making them more balanced.
I do agree with you on the good killers needing to be looked at. Billy/Spirit are going to be very unfun to go against. Freddy is boring/annoying no matter what.
This isn't the death of Dbd, Killers said the same thing about the Ruin patch, this is no different, only its Survivor mains crying.
0 -
correct. Survivors want to survive killers want to kill. You wonder why we complain when survivors are t bagging and flashlight clicking when they know we can't do anything about it. Also when are you going to get over the fact that people are going to have different opinions?
0 -
i had a guy doing the regular toxic ######### and he was the last guy left. i gave him hatch. All he had to say was ######### you.
0 -
Are you really out here trying to call Billy overpowered. I'd also love to know where all these elusive dead zones are. In the games I've played since the patch I'm yet to see these massive dead zones you're speaking of. The only new map that I can agree seems to have a bit of a dead zone issue is the center area of Blood Lodge.
0 -
Imagine being so bad at killer you still struggle to get kills after 3.7 update.
90% of the survivors that escape my games are ones I basically let escape. The other 10% actually earned it.
0 -
It doesn't matter if another topic has more complaints, a sizable amount of unreasonable complaints is undesirable either way. Amazing how comments like this that encourage division, exclusion, and harassment get so many upvotes. The dbd community might be a bit more toxic than I first imagined.

You're exactly right about "This thread is just a complaint about complaining." I don't get why people like to hear somebody expressing a problem, whine to them about it, and then don't realize they're doing the exact same thing.
It's just an extra layer of cringe when somebody tries to make it about "BHVR favors X role, and anybody who disagrees with me is just an X main."

'''When devs decided to nerf ruin what was actually the reaction of most killers? "Now I am going to bring Noed, I am going to facecamp, tunnel and slug"'
Well yea, you remove killer best and almost only optimal way to slow down game, they now have to use NoED, proxy camp, tunnel and slug, that how you slow down a game. Survivor has way to deal with these so idk why you complain, most these strat only work if survivor let them work anyway. MAYBE you should'nt go for a save if someone is hooked and someone else is slugged right next to him, just saying.
''Killers found a way to combat it by putting on Corrupt Intervention, Surveillance etc and changing their strategy and survivors had to deal with it.''
You had to addapt to doing gens faster and having less pressure put on your shoulder, If only you did'nt have to adapt to killer using weaker strats, Poor survivor, this is so sad and hard ;-;
''Now with these changes that ONLY favors the killers:''
No, these change don't only favor killer, your delusional. They affect killer greatly not because it a buff but because it removed major problem in the game. God loop were litteraly invincible heaven for survivor, that should'nt have existed in the first place. and map being smaller help the killer cause some could'nt use their power effectively, you know, using the biggest advantage you have as kill is fun sometime...
Map being smaller mean loop are closer to each other and we already see extremly survivor sided loop close to each other in certain maps, I think it one of the corns map that has a jungly gym and shack real close together with a junk pile nearby, that like 5 loops and 2 pallets. Granted all loops are far from this good, but it dosen't change the fact loop are closer, there is less space between loop for killer to get you with their bloodlust...
'' Now survivors on these particular maps have a much lower percentage of surviving a chase long enough to give the other survivors chances to complete gens''
2 things
First, Gen are done incredibly fast and as you said killer lost their most efficient way to slow them down. if you can't loop them enought to complete gens, maybe you should train more and get better at mindgame, cause that the only way for killer to get you b4 gens go down. if a killer can simply folow you and catch you with bloodlust whitout gens being done, Survivors are doing something wrong, either they suck at loop or they don't do gens.
Second, it may sound stupid but yea, Survivor are suposed to die. Escaping is a secondary objectif for survivors, you goal is to do gens and chase, that how you pip as survivor, Hiding, healing and escaping are just extra point. Killer on the other hand need to kill you for their objectif, there 4 of you and killing take way more time then doing gens. Killer can't run 4 people at once and relly on survivor doing mistake to do anything atm. the game dev try to balance around killer doing 2k, and you can tell something wrong when killer either do 1k or 4k most the time, game are to fast, survivor control the timer. Killer would'nt be able to do anything if it weren't for the survivor doing mistake. there a maximum ammount of pressure a killer can put, and they can't have less than 1 person on gens unless survivor screw up.
''No! If you are upset people are genrushing then its your responsibility as a killer to come up with a build or a strategy to combat that. There is Pop, Dying Light, Tana''
Your not a clown, your the whole circus.Follow me on this one okay... Killer can't stop genrushing unless survivor make mistake... that it. Pop is the bestt killer tool and it only save 20 second on a single generator each hook. Survivor can work on many generators at that take 80 sec to complete if you got no toolbox, perk, and never hit great skillchecks. Killer can do whatever they want, it will alway take 3 hook to kill a survivor, 120 second for them to die, only survivor can shorten that time up by unhooking. Survivor control the lenght of the game. the only way to kill survivor is for them to do mistake. Killer can't gain time if survivor don't let them.
Oh yea also you asked kilelr to use Dying light, arguably the worst gen speed slowdown perk of the game. you clown.
Thana work in niche build on certain killers that all.
1 -
The Ruin change technically buffed it, unless you're talking about its use in the lower ranks.
0 -
If i need to spend half my perk to counter something 4 people have in their basekit the game have an issue, just saying. Oh and let not forget Ruin is an hex, a incredibly weak on at that.
I consider breakable wall kinda weak of a change, we can't even break most of them unless we want to create good loops for survivors,
The worst being what killer refer as the ''meme room'', it vault that leard to 3 breakable walls. a dead end for survivor, but if the killer break one of the walls, they also need to break the 3 of them or it create an infinite god loops.
1 -
The breakable walls are honestly some of the worst things the devs have thought of. It's a mess of a design and a terrible bandaid.
1 -
Hard disagree. It's like sprinkling dropped pallets across the map, it adds more diversity and allows map balance to be more fine-tuned.
0 -
I just think they're not putting enough effort into balancing it and just used breakable pallets as a bandaid. It's just my opinion though.
0 -
No, they are putting effort but they're missing the spot with breakable pallets.
0 -
Currently they're testing out straight up doorways first, it seems like they're putting forth some good effort towards balancing maps. Taking their time and using feedback to adjust their approach seems like the right move to me.
1 -
Yeah, they are. Hopefully once all the maps are balanced, we'll get the old BL back too since it wouldn't be OP.
1 -
Old BL would be nice, but sadly I think they adjusted tiles to make old BL even stronger. The drops in coal tower are a big example. It's probably not coming back.
0 -
Sad, I loved that perk, but I guess balance-wise it had to get nerfed since the infinites it created were way too strong.
1 -
Yeah the devs took the easy way out. They'd rather nerf a perk than put more effort into balancing their maps. I'm disappointed that they didn't just make BL have a cooldown without the Exhaustion and speed boost effects. Holding on to the speed boost makes it niche because you have to compare it with other exhaustion perks. Making the maps in this lazy way also means their probably won't be perks like BL added to the game, killing some perk variety that could've had some fun potential. At least they're fixing maps, so they deserve credit even though the direction is disappointing with its implied limitations.

Before the update, 90% of the complains was from killers, right now it is pretty even when you check the forum.
It is a little bit silly that killer mains still complain after this update... when free wins are now served on silver tablet to them. The only reasonable complain as a killer right now is that the game is to easy, but most who come here are the weaklings and for them, the game cant be easy enough.
2 -
Oh yes. It's like another post on here says. The new sensitivity needed to have a dead zone option in the menu settings as well. I agree with them dead zone is needed.
0 -
Do people really complain about NOED because they think there's something wrong with the Exposed status? Or is it because of the timing of the Hex, where they start feeling entitled to escape (And teabag in the exit knowing there's nothing the killer can do, even if they're downed) and want to blame something when they still get hooked?
0 -
Before the update, the most common complaints (Except for right before and right after the Ruin Patch) were from Survivors crying about tunneling, camping, moris, and NoEd. Those complaints have flooded this forum even before the Ruin nerf.
Moris are the only legitimate complaint, I still don't know what the Devs were on when they thought it was a good idea.
Everything else they complain about can all be remedied by getting better at the game. They either don't want to or won't admit that they aren't skilled enough to.
Camping can be countered by learning the map layouts and mastering looping. If the Killer can't catch you, they can't camp you. You also have perks such as Borrowed Time and Decisive Strike that can be used with good teamwork. Barring Bubba, camping isn't an issue. It isn't the Killers fault if you're bad and can't prolong a chase for more than 5 seconds.
Tunneling can be countered by, once again, learning how to loop better. If you waste too much of the Killers time, you become a less desirable target. If the Killer wastes the match chasing you, you succeeded in letting your teammates win. Your teammates can also interfere by body blocking, giving you a chance to break the chase and sneak away. Decisive Strike can also help.
The game has always been Survivor sided. The reason why many are crying is because the Devs are finally balancing things to be fair for both sides and the Survivors don't want to adapt. They want to always have their DS ready for EGC so they can get EZ 4 escapes.
What did Survivors reply when Killer mains complained? Git Gud, Apply Pressure! Well, now Survivors can take their own advice.
1 -
Not being caught is not a good counter. If it was, Moris would never have been nerfed.
0 -
I will always complain about dbd if someone ask's me until they have change the bad things.
That said, I was never be a big part of nerf threads that have go towards survivors. The worst thing I have ever say in a "nerf thread" towards survivors are imo, that swf's have a advantage that killers and solo survs not have and I still think with that I was not wrong.
Personally I couldn't care less about survivor's strength, if not 2 things would be:
-The constant complains of survivor's towards killer/mechanics.
-Feeled endless nerfs for killers.
Both give you a really bad feeling inside your stomach.
The devs have make yet some patches were either killers got buffed, or at least they have created things that have a use for both sides, but that was not always the case and I ask me honestly how many patches bhvr will push out bevore they go back to their old behavior and start to nerf killers again.
And the second point is, even with all the changes the devs have made in the past, they still have not change what is personally for me important and until then you will see or hear me complaining if someone asks me in real life, or on a social platform about dbd.
I know, I have talk here a bit mysterious, but I also would not like to hijack this thread and fill it with other topics.
But at the end I can only say: Have survivor player really thought they can complain about certain killers, mechanics and perks without anger the playerbase of those certain killers/mechanics and/or perks?
You see we sit in the same boat, somehow.
I just like to see that they take one specific patch back, so that I can play my favorite killer and having fun on the same time. If they have done that, they can make the maps big as an football field, bring old mettle of man back, 2 quadro trillion pallets and other things - if that is something what would make survivors happy, but until then, you will me not see smiling if I talk about dbd ;).
0 -
They give you a bad feeling because your opinion is biased. Jic you didn't know ;)
1 -
To the main point of the thread. Killers do complain because there are still unfair things, like your skill is RNG based. As a killer you're supposed to be the power role, and survivors need to cooperate to have a chance, not to surpass the killer. At the moment if you play with an optimal SWF or with great team mates, winning becomes impossible for an average killer.
And something else
People, chill down. Everyone gets angry at toxics (whether it's a survivor or a killer) players but toxicity leads to more toxicity, "I camp because..." no, you camp because you want, no one asked or forced you, it's like saying "I t-bag because", you're angry and I get it, but that doesn't allow you to be a bad person. I have been t- bagged and clicked with the flashlight quite a lot. Did I get angry? Of course, who doesn't? But I'll play fair even that, because as I said, toxicity leads to more toxicity and if you're not willing to end it then Who will?
0 -
your never going to win. killers wont be happy until the map is the size of box room and suviours wont be happy until all Gens take 5 seconds to complete. your never going to please everyone because everyone is a victim of change
0 -
I have not really a biased opinion. At least not on the way how a biased opinion often is understood in the internet.
I mean, sure. I am a killer main and everything I see, I see as a killer main.
But I have also always try to see the other side. So, I am not someone who see's survivors just as meatbags for the hook^^.
And I think that see the people also ingame. The toxic endgame chats I had in the game, can I count on one hand. How many survivors and killers can say the same about their endgame chats, hm?
0 -
I dont agree that there are more survivor complains before that patch, the forum was full of killers complaining about every nonsense like genrush and when you look at it, there are still planty of them around, even tho killers have now the best time ever. But you are right, also survivors complained, pretty much for the same reason killers complained.
The game was very survivor sided 2 years ago, but it slowly shifted in the other direction. Getting 4Ks as a killer is much more easy then getting 4 escapes now and thats even a fact supported by stats, even before this insane killer buff.
I think some ballances are a good thing, like the nerf of genspeed when multible survivors are on a single generator, and also godloops should have been dealt but on some they went way too far. Just look at the second version of iron works, complete nonsense and a testament on how much devs are into ballancing overall.
The problem i and probably any other reasonable person who is still left here have with the game is that developers always take trastic steps in one direction. Like you said, in the past, survivors had the upper hand, so they decided to bring an update that completly demolishes any survivor defense and nerf them where even possible. Its not like they removed a pallet or two, no they had to create deadzones half of the map. 7-8 pallets are standard now, when there used to be 12-15. Why does it always have to be from one extreme into another? Do you really get that? Be honest now.
All those git goods are nonsense from people who hate the other side and you know that, now you want payback as far as i can read out of your text. Thats not the right way to deal with the game.
I for myself am a killer main now since i got tired of playing survivor (i am a better survivor then killer tho), 4K was never that hard, but now it is standard. I say it the same way you say it about survivors who come here to complane: Killers who cant 4K now are just terrible at the game period. Its clearly in the killers favour now, no discussion neccessary.
Ballancing =/= payback for 2016.

Hm...med kit nerf? Freddy rework(huge buff)? Nemesis, sabotage nerf(yes it was a nerf), no longer keeping addons(while not a problem, still a nerf. Survivor blood webs suck ass and white ward is even more useless). Breakable walls being set up for future patches. Every new map being more killer sided. I think they buffed and nerfed both. Sorry to disappoint you.
I'm sorry, but are you somehow telling players NOT to use something in the game that was given to them? Stealth is impossible. There are FAR too many ways for a killer to know where a survivor is. If we made this PURELY a stealth game killers would pretty much only need tracking perks and the game would fall on it's head. There are far too many ways to track survivors. If you want this to be a stealth game, make survivors able to stay in a locker forever without crows if in the killer's TR, remove all killer tracking perks, and make the maps as dark as they used to be. Oh and remove scratch marks. Then you can make your changes like removing pallets. Though bloodlust would also have to be removed due to no way to break it. This isn't hide and seek, as much as people want to claim it is. There are MANY ways to deal with certain situations. As far as I know, it's not intended to only be able to play one specific way.

Freddy Rework yes same with med kirs, Nemesis is a perk...which on many killers isn't great, and alone is an average perk. Toolboxes got nerfed which was needed, however sabotages didn't, and I've actually used alot more toolboxes since the change. Add ons didn't effect me as I don't use add ons, and unless it's a key or a flashlight, they usually aren't a big deal. If you had to rely on add ons rather than items than your lacking skill elsewhere. Don't know what you mean by survivors bloodwebs suck... breakable walls can help alot, however we haven't seen them properly in action yet. Many maps changed as a buff.

I haven't played much lately, as I quit around Ruin nerf when people started playing like dicks despite Ruin actually being a buff in my eyes(and matchmaking started being horrible). It's not important enough to look for the totem, but it's strong enough to actually ruin your progress if you get chased off a gen. It also opened up some really interesting builds, and one particularly almost overpowered build with Freddy which a lot of people probably don't know about. Tested it with a friend. As for Nemesis, he also tested something with me including Nemesis which was absolutely broken and could be used on any killer. Not gonna talk about that one either.
Now I play every so often but I don't play super often anymore. I'm actually like rank 13 now, with how often I play compared to previously always being in red ranks. With how killers decide to retaliate in games to the smallest changes, it's just much better playing in an on and off setting.
0 -
As for killer, Remember me nerf, Legion getting a nerf, Pig RBT nerf, Nurse rework that really damaged her, Spirit Nerf (This was needed Imo), Hex: Ruin nerf, and to me a saboteur buff.
Yeah I'm going to be honest I over react, glad I read through all the patches though.
0 -
Ofc they still complain, it's called entitlement, double standards and hypocrisy.
0 -
I only mentioned the buffs to killers because you mentioned that killers ONLY GOT nerfs. You said that all the patches were survivor sided up to that point. I was just disproving that lie. As for the changes to Legion. Legion is still fine. Legion was my favorite killer. Also that change to Deep Wounds where people have to be continually moving actually buffed ALL killers, especially Doctor. It's much more possible even if trying to avoid it that you can go into the downed state from Deep Wounds.
As for Pig's RBT "nerf", this was more of a clarity change. Pig was intended to be a killer who stalled the game out, not one who threw traps on you at the end of the game and chased you around until you died. Her change was as a result of the EGC, and you can still do the whole "end game pig" thing, it's just slightly more difficult. I've experienced having traps on during EGC, and there's literally no way you can survive in that scenario. It was a NECESSARY change and it didn't really hurt Pig.
Nurse was still completely fine, and Spirit's nerf didn't change her at all, aside from make bad Spirit players not be as strong as they were previously, which obviously is how it should have been. Ruin was a buff. I don't think it was a nerf at all. No one's gonna be looking for Ruin specifically anymore to pop it, and it's still strong if you chase someone off a gen, and has MANY good synergies with it, and as I mentioned, a specific Freddy build I made makes it pretty much where you can not use puddles/pallets at all and still likely get a 3k as long as your totems are up. Even then, that combination slows the game down to the point you can snowball. It's basically Forever Freddy V2.
1 -
There will be always those who complain.
And in game that's impossible to balance perfectly like DbD, those who are just not that good will come complain and cry about it not being balanced because they are OBVIOUSLY really really good and make no mistakes and there's nothing they could do differently and maybe won. True for both survivors and killers.
0 -
They didnt touch haddonfield the god loops still spawn on that map and it still has a massive amount of long fences, hedges, and well placed windows. I will say that haddonfield isnt as bad since they nerfed balanced though, that perk made that map straight up impossible against someone who knows what they're doing. It's now a little more fair but I've seen the god loops spawn since the update so if they said they changed it they messed up.
0 -
I'd rather survs just learn to loop properly stealth games are just super boring and honestly rarely go in survivors favor since they waste so much time sneaking around the map.
0 -
Just because something got done about god loops and maps, suddenly all the other reasons killers are complaining aren’t gone...
If something were to be done about Freddy for example, the fact mories are braindead hasn’t changed?
Where is the logic behind this...
